He's appeared as a ghost a few times, notably in Halls of Reflection and the end of the Shadowmourne questline.
Thank you for reminding me once again how much I fucking loved the Pits of Saron-Forge of Souls-Halls of Reflections trio of instances from Wrath of the Lich King back in the days.
Four expansions later, they are still my favorite and most fondly remembered dungeon experience from this game
Considering both Uther and Arthas received model updates in BfA, and Uther's Tomb being much more elaborate now, I hold out hope that they'll play some role later in the expansion.
They don't think those are actual numbers and blizzard allegedly contacted them to say the same. There's pretty good explanation and discussion on /r/wow
but they also tweeted

after that
i wouldnt really be surprised, if I didn't have a group that I could run mythic dungeons with I would have unsubbed weeks ago. After you get to 120 if you don't have a solid group to run raids or mythic+ with there's no substantial content in the game left.
This is my current problem. I've no interest in pvp, the expiditions and warfronts are terribly boring, and as a pure tank main finding a guild to raid with is incredibly hard. I have no reason to log on really.
this expansion sucks dick, please go play something that's worth paying for. blizzard don't deserve a single god damn cent until they pull their cum covered lips off of the shareholders jumbo cocks and actually focus on making the game fun instead of just being all about player retention
BfA removed so many features and is so poorly designed it's almost like Garry made it
I have no idea how they fucked up this bad considering how hopefully Legion made me feel. I mean aside from the rep grind fiesta I had a blast with every aspect. Now they've doubled down on everything wrong with Legion and added nothing to counterbalance that. Where the fuck did the effort go.
the shareholders wanted more yachts so the devs put in more RNG and timegating to artificially inflate your time subbed. they don't care if you are having fun or not, as long as you're subbed, they're happy.
bring up these issues on the actual forums maybe? like even if their rabid supporters are hostile and blizzard give no rats ass, atleast make an effort by posting your valid criticism on there. that'll atleast have a miniscule chance of positive change instead of posting here on facepunch just to vent.
I quit WoW this week along with half the FPEU guild, we're all fed up of this xpac disaster
It's not like it's a secret that this expansion is a shitshow, people were calling it two weeks after launch, if not that. Warfronts and Expeditions aren't a substitute for good content, and there's not enough there to string us along to 8.1.
I thought I'd enjoy Warfronts more. And I'll admit, the first few times it was fun. But they quickly devolve into doing the same thing, and I've repeatedly found myself just running around a bit and looking
busy, but otherwise being AFK until everyone else kills the boss.
I think Warfronts would benefit from getting a PvP-mode (with a timer, unlike the current PvE-mode where, technically, it could go on forever).
the actual forums are a cesspool and even the devs actively avoid dealing with it. have you actually been on the blizzard forums? it's just the PR people getting shat on while the devs continue to suck shareholder nut.
all valid criticism has already been said, and there's no point in echoing it when blizzard don't care.
I feel like the Warfront is a good idea just poorly executed. It should defiantly be something you could make a pug-raid for and just stomp it for fun times PvE-wise. But it clearly should have been made with PvP in mind. It just screams to be good PvP content.
I also don't understand why once you have captured the warfront that there isn't current content in the area? Like farming mats, WQ, even push it so far of having a own dungeon that rotates. Ofc this doesn't mean the other side should sit on their ass doing nothing, they could also have WQ going, like sabotaging, killing, gathering resources to rebuild, etc.
"guys warfronts are totally like warcraft 3 you'll love it"
*warfronts are not even remotely similar to wc3 in any way*
i sincerely don't think anyone at blizzard involved with development has actually played any old blizzard games seriously
which isn't an insult, I'm not saying you have to be some "real gamer" to be involved with games development, but it's just so fucking weird to watch people try to make games they clearly have so little investment in
you know when you were a kid, and your parents or grandparents would get you completely random movies and games because they have no idea what you actually like? that's what WoW feels like now
"hey billy! you know how much you liked warcraft 3? well look at these new warfronts I made for you! they have all those little army guys, just like warcraft 3!"
i think working at blizzard should atleast mean you played their iconic games. i mean why the hell else do you work there of all places otherwise? imagine hiring a guy and he's like "uh whats warcraft 3? and whats a diablo?"
No! There's an Altar of Kings, and a lumber mill!
I've gotten to the point where i am feed up whining about shit, as you say, the rest of the world already does that. So i do try to focus on the stuff that i still enjoy ingame. I am a sucker for transmog so i usually do that in my downtime. But mostly i run m+ and raid with friends.
It isn't like BfA is universally awful. There are tons of things to enjoy. Dungeon and raid content is still great. Bwomsamdi is one of the best characters the game's had in years. PvP is markedly improved over Legion. In a lot of areas, the game is continuing to improve.
That's what makes the retrograde direction they've taken for class design, itemization, and raid management so baffling. Tooltips that don't even hint at what abilities do. Complete silence from the devs on how the game actually works after a long history of transparency. Class balance and playability improvements that were baked into artifact weapons being removed and replaced with nothing. No gear swapping in dungeons. No master loot in raids, forcing raiders to trade their loot to the raid leader after every boss for distribution.
And that's just the stuff that affects people who're trying to play at the top end. Story wise, the game can't even decide if it wants you to be Sylvanas' ally in her obviously insane, unjustified genocide crusade or actively working to oppose her.
Like, I'm not trying to pressure anyone into disliking the game. If you like it, that's great! Enjoying things is great!
It's just, these problems are so glaring. When Blizzard just casually overlooks them, it makes me feel like I'm crazy or something. Complaining to other people about it is just my way of going "I'm not completely nuts, right?"
warfronts and island expansions turned out entirely different than what blizzard advertised back then.
Warfronts don't really make much sense at the moment, I'm sure once they add several different ones into the mix it might work out better (assuming they don't do something retarded like making them all take place on the same week)
People are emotionally invested in the game, and have been for years. The game becoming unfun is like taking away their second home, or a family member. I mean we joke about "wowjunkies", but there definitely is a deeper connection with mmos than with other games. So in that context it makes sense that people want/need to vent. Also, Blizzard pointing to emotional outbursts to dismiss valid criticisms, is pretty disingenuous.
I can actually look past most of Blizzard's mistakes, almost no matter how severe.
WoD, universally considered the worst expansion yet (let's wait until BfA is over before we label it as the true worst expansion), was the expansion I had the most fun with. It got me into raiding. I did
arenas for the first time, and a had blast doing 'em. I made a ton of friends (all of which I've lost since :c ), and I experienced the best damn RP ever.
While WoD did a lot of things wrong, there was one point I felt the expansion's done better than most others: story consistency. Sure, end-game, besides raiding, was non-existent, and PvP balance was
shite. The daily quests weren't exactly better.
But the story that was told as you levelled up was good. It made sense. It was connected. Then came the hunt for Gul'dan, and combatting the Iron Horde, both at the same time. Those were great too,
especially Gul'dan's story arc.
Like I said, I can forgive a lot of things. What I can't forgive, however, is a bad story, and that's why I'm so outraged about BfA so far. The story is shit!
There's only a vague connection between the different zones story (easily one of my biggest criticisms of Legion as well), which makes the story feel random and out of touch. Sure, most of the zones
tell some decent individual stories (Drustvar's is particularly good), but what's the connection? When you arrive in Kul Tiras, you're told "quick, we gotta find the fleet! Let's go! Oh, but please, if you'd rather investigate Ashvane first, be my guest "
Zandalar is, admittedly, more believable, since the objective is largely the same: find out what the fuck is going on. But then, again, nothing is connected. If you do Zuldazar first, then you find out that Zul
is a traitor, and logically, you'd be able to figure out that, yes, indeed, the blood trolls in Nazmir are a huge-fucking-threat, and that Jakra'zet is also a traitor. But no, you're still asked to go to those zones
afterwards, even though it has, story-wise, become completely obsolete to do so, because all the information you'd want is something you'd get while investigating Zul!
And this is before I even touch on Sylvanas. People should already be well aware of my opinion on her, but I'll spill it anyway.
Before Legion/BfA, Sylvanas was a cold, ruthless individual, who was trying to do everything in her power to stay alive. But back then, she was also genuinely trying to protect the Forsaken, and carve out a piece of the world just for them, so that they could 'live' on without being bothered by anyone. While the individual was still merely a tool, at least there was a goal.
Come Legion and BfA, Sylvanas has practically become Arthas. She's only barely pretending to care for anyone but herself (and Nathanos). It's an open secret that she wants to become an immortal ruler over all of Azeroth. Her war against the Alliance isn't because she wants to deny them the use of Azerite (this is more of a secondary objective), it's a war of genocide. She doesn't care what the others
think of her, and dismisses their advice: she massacres both her own and enemy troops, she's using the Blight to destroy anything she can't control, and she's killing anyone who she perceives to be a
threat to her rule.
And while this is going on, Blizzard wants us to believe it's "morally grey" (it isn't), and wants us to give her a chance. To which I say: fuck that. She's done nothing to make herself deserving of being given a chance. She is objectively evil and cruel, and only deserving of one thing: permanent death.
This is why I'm invested in BfA, and by extension, Warcraft. It's story. It has been painful to see just how far from grace it's fallen, and continue to fall. I honestly believe that Blizzard only has a slight
chance to bring it back, and that involves getting rid of Sylvanas, and actually giving the Horde a leader that embodies their ideals.
I'm not even joking, if Sylvanas isn't gone by the end of the expansion (or worse yet, is given a redemption arc), I'm quitting.
leveling just one character, my warlock from 110-120 burnt me out so bad from questing ive resorted to only spamming island expeditions and pvp on my alts now because they are infinitely faster and because its much lazier. fuck warlock leveling again goddamn. the game is so fucking slow now.
Warfronts are a neat idea let down by the fact that its literally impossible to lose.
I'm a bit confused, I finished Kul Tiras for the most part and now it's making me replay all the dungeons I already did to finish the respective stories. I'm a casual WoW player so I'm a bit unsure what to expect but this seems like really unnecessary busywork.
Also I'm not sure how they got away with not releasing a major feature (Kul Tiras and Zandalaran trolls) alongside the expansion's launch months ago and still have no release date for them.
I really like what they did with the areas (Kul Tiras and Zandalar are great) but I feel like it's very content-lite afterwards for a full price game expansion. Coming from other games, are my expectations too high?
