Calling it now, the demo will allow you to run around Valley of Trials and Northshire, and if you try to leave it'll play various classic trailers with a voice-over from Chromie saying "it's nearly time!" before kicking you back to the start.
Datamining for patch 8.1 seems to imply that Saurfang will leave the Horde (for now), and that assassins will come after him. Now where have I heard that before... Blizzard can insist as much as they want that Sylvanas isn't a traitorous cunt, and that she isn't just using the Horde as a tool to keep herself alive, but everything they do is pushing her more and more towards that path.
Demo will have full Elwynn Forest and Durotar zones. If Saurfang ends up starting his own Horde with blackjack and hookers I'll be right there with him.
pretty bummed that the companion app only lets you fuck with the latest expansion and not legion and draenor stuff. got order hall missions id love to assign and complete when im at work inbetween tasks.
wait seriously? I thought they integrated the legion app into the wow app
nope, and it sucks. sure, I have a horde that I use for BfA stuff, but I also got an Alliance toon I'm using for rep grinding legion and it would be so much better if I had access to all of the mission-style stuff. but nope, it's old now so it's moldy ew get it away
I can't believe we are playing mists again!
Imagine if Classic will be just massive erp event in Goldshire tavern
I must conclude that "erp event" here really stands for "erotic roleplaying event", doesn't it?
Doing timewalking in BfA is perhaps the most tedious and frustrating thing I've done in a long time. Not only do you have to complete 5 dungeons now (up from 4), the dungeons are also way overtuned. It wasn't uncommon for a lot of the bosses (and sometimes just the mobs) to hit me for 5k-8k, when I only have 20k HP.
I healed all mine as disc priest as the bosses were all totally easy (except when people fucked the mechanics and got one shot) but the damage coming from the trash seems totally borked. People were dying in like 3/4 hits to some of the crap in those dungeons.
So it would seem that some of the night elves are being raised to be a new generation of Dark Rangers. I'm a bit torn on this. On one hand, that's actually kind cool, to see the night elves become the very thing they hate with all their hearts - undead. On the other, it feels... wrong. Out of place. Not to mention this happens MONTHS after Teldrassil burned. Shouldn't the bodies have just decomposed by now? Not to mention, again, it further cements Sylvanas' ambition to raise everyone into undeath. Also, Mekkatorque is frozen in the new raid, and we effectively lose him as a faction leader (for now).
I'm willing to bet that Mekkatorque being frozen is gonna tie into all the Junker Gnome stuff that's been/being datamined. Probably gonna be an Alliance allied race to compensate for Vulpera or something.
You really should put spoilers around that. Not everyone wants to know what's being datamined. That aside, I hope not. Mecha gnomes just wouldn't work I feel. It would look ridiculous for a robot to be wearing any sort of armour or clothing.
My bad, forgot about that. The circles I talk in about WoW all pretty much know the datamined shit as soon as it's released. And not MEchagnomes, Junker Gnomes. There was a Prairie Dog model datamined with cybernetic parts. I imagine the Gnomes will be similar, not the Mimiron-style titanforged constructs, but instead a cybernetically enhanced Gnome variant.
i think dark rangers are elves that channel the darkness of elune not undead night elves. Remember, elune doesn't seem to be a light or dark entity, by being the oon and the night she represents both
Honestly want to see more of Sylvanas raising her fallen enemies as undead, it's proper cool and I loved the whole sequence with the dying tidesage during the war campaign. There's just something satisfying about the idea of turning enemies into allies. Still not 100% happy with the fact that Sylvanas' actions now have to reflect on the entire Horde, but ive always liked her as a character, and I'm glad she's getting some nice opportunities to be a total bastard.
Bit bullshit that only her and Nathanos get to have hot bods and the rest of the forsaken have to be rotting shitheaps.
I think they should let you play as non-human forsaken tbh. If Sylvanas is going on a spree of raising the dead, it would make sense to have an allied race reflecting this.
You know the more I think about the recent stuff like Saurfang leaving the Horde, Forsaken Night Elves, Calia resurrected as a "holy" undead etc, the more I think we're heading towards the end of race restrictions for factions, or at the very least a complete shake-up of the factions as we know them.
I've always wanted either a third neutral faction or the ability to move to a different faction.
a good idea would be to replace War Mode with Racism Mode, where you're racist against the races that used to be on the other faction. they can handle pandaren by just letting everyone attack them.
"Ok nobody attack the spacegoats they have a spaceship capable of killing us all."
I've found on Wowpedia some pretty cool fan ideas for two couples of allied races https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/225139/dffdf6ae-792f-4a6d-8613-f035f0f44dc2/20180930125435_1.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/225139/d38b1731-456b-44ef-a1b0-4fb2b6cf5414/$.jpg Also, I was told that, in the time skip between WoD and BfA, Yrel had a character transiction between a Joan of Arc archetype advocating peaceful coexistence between the Draenei and the Orcs to a complete, warmongering lunatic with a full "join or die" attitude
While mok'nathal and Broken could, at a stretch, become Allied Races, Blizzard have already said we'll never get high elves, and the San'layn are in such a tiny number that to suddenly have thousands of them appear because everyone is making an Allied Race with them is absurd.
Well, nothing is exactly stopping them from repro ... ... ... Oh
Bit late, but see if you can find an old APK. I never updated the app on my tablet so I'm still running legion stuff(for rep mostly at this point) on it, while I have the BFA version on my phone. Of course this is all based on you having android
Yep, in the Mag'Har unlock questline you find out that for years after Hellfire citadel, the Draenei and Orcs worked together to rid Draenor of the burning legion, Yrel and Grom both becoming close friends. After the legion had been wiped out though, the Draenei started indoctrinating Orcs to become lightbound, which started as a "come join us, we welcome all comers", but when the orcs were like "nah we're good thanks" Yrel went "okay genocide it is then I guess". The questline ends with you escaping to Azeroth with the only surviving Mag'Har. Between that and that one Naaru from Legion trying to force the light on Illidan, it's starting to look like the light might not be so benevolent after all.
Is this a joke or something?
He's serious. But I'd argue it's not genocide per-se. It's pretty damn close, true, but Yrel and the other draenei basically began to believe that only the Light could bring salvation. They then began trying to convert the orcs as well. There's some implications it started out peacefully, but they ended up forcibly converting the orcs, and if they refused, they were killed. By the time we arrive to recruit the mag'har, a large chunk of the orc population has apparently joined the Lightbound, and the last orc bastion is about to be overrun. Questline ends with a very old Grommash attacking Yrel and the Lightbound with less than a handful of other orcs so you and the mag'har can escape to Azeroth. The parallel here is obviously to X'era and Illidan, and the whole idea of Light and Void being bound together, with neither being able to exist without the other. On Draenor, the Light took over completely in the form of the Iron Horde and Legion being defeated, and Yrel and the draenei then becoming increasingly fanatic because there's nothing to counter-balance them and their faith in the Light.
