Tbh, I'm actually rather surprised they didn't add in a new weapon for MHW, given usually a newer generation normally get's a new weapon, but I guess they just wanted to get all the current weapons perfect first before adding in another.
They added enough to (most of) the weapons they're practically new themselves. I'd appreciate a new weapon certainly, but the way they refreshed what they had made them just as fun.
I'm not going to lie, after looking at the medium bowgun, I have literally no idea why it exists
Do they make sense? At a glance, it doesn't really seem like the game needs more other than for the sake of novelty. 9 weapons were a lot, with 11 weapons there's already some overlap, and it seems like it'd get worse beyond that.
Legit the only thing I wish they didn't get lazy on is weapon models. There aren't NEARLY enough monsters for them to have lamed out on the weapon trees.
Different playstyles. Hunting Horn and Hammer play completely differently despite being large, blunt weapons. Personally I'd like some kind of Gauntlet weapon (not the Tonfas but those could scratch my itch too).
Greatsword and Longsword play different despite both being large, 2-handed swords.
I could see Fisticuffs-like Weapon to be like boxing fighters. Where it's all about getting in and out, is a fast dealing KO weapon and, like Hammer is KO King and Horn is Exhaust Expert, Gauntlets would be great at causing tripping Altho it wouldn't have any cutting power and Demon Mode, it would have some kind of super-armor on certain moves to allow to power thru attacks, like GS in MHW has that shoulder bash, due to it's low reach.
There isn't enough hand-to-hand type weapons in games. I feel like MH would be neat. Punch monsters.
I'd like more ranged options
I want a giant slingshot.
Isn't that just Jho's bow?
I'd like for Capcom to rerelease the DLC Palicos that have Landmaster and World's Strongest already. I know Beasts can't use Last Stand, but I want to at least get that semi-crazy boost from WS. Maybe I'll switch Burrowing Blow for Chestnut Cannon or Felyne Cannon.
That shoots teefs.
Proppa orky.
I was thinking a weapon that shoots slow, does blunt damage, and has some solid melee options. Like a mix of a slingshot and a flail.
I could totally see a mix of ranged and melee, as in it charges kinetic energy then transforms into like, a cannon.
I'd like something similar to a ball and chain.
Maybe stuff a creature inside the ball so it functions similar to the insect glaive's bug, allowing it to roll in the specified direction. The chain never detaches from the ball allowing you to either retract the ball back to you or keep the ball in place and you zip towards it giving some mobility. A bit of a mix between Hammer and IG playstyles.
Instead of that, a fucking meteor hammer would be awesome.
So basically you want weaponized Konchu's.
Monster would be stunlocked for days
Where do people first hear about new content coming to the game? is it the MHW website or the official social media?
twitter, steam announcements, videos/news from events.
This thread.
I wish they would focus their resource on making the environment and animals more and more natural, more detailed ecosystem. And it would be awesome if all the areas are interconnected with each other. And please reduce the 'special power' moves flashiness. It will be great if monster weak spots will give greater effects if interacted with, and make the monster less HP spongy.
Monsters like Kulu -Yaku are nice, in a way they got their own special activities auch as stealing eggs, it really gives them characters. Its boring to see monsters who are 'battle-based', in which their focus is just how 'powerful' they are on battles.
I don't really care about weapons anymore. Or graphics.

What we need isn't new weapons.
We need more weapon skins and models, not the same thing for like 5 different swords with the small difference of a spike or two.
True, we also need more varied monsters. I feel like MH4 ult and MH XX really hit the nail on the head with the variety of monsters and gear.
It's the first time the devs couldn't reuse the old ps2 models and animations so I can sorta understand the lack of variation in MHW. However, it really fucking sucks that nearly all the new monsters are boring and run off old skeletons.
There are many things that slow down the process of new content in MHW, including behavior and turf wars if they decide to give 'em one.
Same goes with like just maps. Ye, they're massive (I still get lost in the forest at times even now) but we barely have any danger in them.
I love looking at the Gen maps and be like, wow RUINS! Greens! SNOW!!
It'd be great if G-Rank comes with a whole story segment that introduces new maps with new visuals, new weather/environment systems along with new monsters.
I want more fluffy armors damn it! And walking around in snow!
Or even like a map where most of it is a temple ruin, with Xeno lore in it and be like "oof wow we dodge a bullet kiling that thing. T'was an ancient weapon made by man" or some silly thing like that.
And then suddenly, giant ancient, elder controlled, mecha monster is awakened!
Shit like this would be awesome and fresh for MHW.
Oh man the transition from Village LR to HR is a cool one. Explore and hunt a Congalala at the Ruined Pinnacle, only to have a "WARNING!" appear instead of "Quest Complete!" Then Valstrax himself invades, only to rocket off, and I'm given access to the airship Soratorium with title screen music so as to chase after the Argent Comet. It's too bad I'm barred off from the G-rank section of the airship, but I'm only one HR and a Diablos away from that too.
Good shit.
Their current enviorments also cut down the roster of monsters available to add. The huge monsters wouldn't exactly fit too well and also be all that fight-able in said areas.
