World has the hallmark issues for a pioneer-type game. It's doing a lot of things new either in it's series or genre, (series in this case) so the breadth of content is ultimately cut back to make sure that whatever is new works. If they do a World 2, it would expand the content greatly as it isn't going be needing to do a lot of new things. It may do some new things, but most of it will be the same with just more content available and the mechanics implemented in the previous game refined to what works.

Kulve taroth already out? Just licked up some golden scales on an expedition.
The ability to unlock siege is out but the actual fight with Kulve Taroth isn't out til Nov 2nd. I tried to do it myself too but it won't let you.
https://steamcommunity.com/games/582010/announcements/detail/1689306165586025889 2.1gb patch, files for kulve, siege comes out on the 2nd.
So wait, they are making me download the files early, but are releasing Kulve later on?
Yes so people with slow internet aren't left behind for Kulve.
somebody adopt this weeb from me https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/57975/928a60ba-f398-4074-b980-ab9cc7a0d48c/2018-11-02_21-49-03.jpg
Anyone had any luck with the Kulve Taroth siege? Tried it out for a short while yesterday but couldn't quite "get" it..
it's honestly really simple. the entire session adds to the progress on kulve/rewards, so the more parts you break, the higher the reward level for everybody in the session becomes. when it's finally weak enough after you raise the pursuit level (from collecting tracks and repeated hunts), you'll be able to break off her horns and get your rewards. 1: collect tracks and smack kulve to break parts until she runs away 2: check hunt details at the hub to see which parts still need to be broken, do it again and aim for those parts 3: if you have a good session going, you'll be able to defeat kulve on your second hunt, otherwise you'll need to do it 3 times until you get your rewards. the minimum reward level you should aim for is 14 since it gives the max 3 gold reward boxes. the higher the pursuit level, the easier kulve is and the less health she has. you fight her in 4 different areas. area 1: not much, she just walks around in circles while you can smack her. there's cannons around as well as rocks you can drop on her for big damage. she runs away after x amount of damage. area 2: she enters a big arena and fights back. keep smacking her. she runs away after x amount of damage. area 3: big lava area. another arena, but this time there's rocks you can drop on her. smack her parts. she runs away after x damage. area 4: she gets rid of her gold coat and fights faster. this is the last stop. there's 8 parts on her gold coat you need to break. right/left front legs right/left chest plate right/left hind legs right/left tail plating for her horns, you have to first break the plating, then chip the horns, then you can finally break them. you'll most likely only be able to break the plating on your first hunt, and chip/break horns on your second hunt. then there's also her actual tail under the gold coat. you can only do this in area/phase 4 when she sheds her gold coat. breaking all these parts raises your reward level and pursuit level.
Thanks! How does the pursuit and reward system work? Does it stay between sessions or does leaving the session put you back at zero? You only get any rewards upon breaking the horns? So you need to repeat the quest a number of times (at least two), breaking parts and weakening her until you're finally able to break the horns?
if you leave the session before you fully complete the hunt you'll still receive the rewards you'd get at whatever reward level you dropped out at. breaking the horns "finishes" the hunt. that's when the reward and pursuit level goes back down to 0 and you're given the rewards you'd get at the end of a normal hunt on the mission results screen.
Craft Pickle Claws + handicraft charm Find the gold thing make all the stuff fly off the gold thing whenever she drops or pauses after headbutts in any phase throw mega barrels on her face and blow them up win Considering I've already gotten the 'best' SnS, Hammer and HBG off of her current table (capcom took 14 entries out because capcom), reward level really doesn't seem to matter.
they took 14 out because they added those 14 at a later date.
This whole session wide Kulve Taroth stuff is giving me some Ur-Dragon vibes and I'm loving it.
Gotta be my best end hunt screen I think. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/107008/471584b3-3c0b-4613-a342-29f620348e19/cacavfbv.png
"Ow my eye"
It's always something seeing Kulve go for the lava/fire spray or whatever when there's 2 people in front of him who don't move away and promptly cart twice in quick succession
Espec ially when you can just mega barrel her butt and get the tail break if you don't have it yet
It's stressful as hell. I carted loads of times at first, but once I learned her moveset properly, a lance with urugaan's set bonus lets you be THE WALL and absorb all her attacks. Then it's a good ol' DPS race as you batter her down, then sleepbomb her in the final phase. Good teammates are a must though, she has a few one hit KOs if you aren't geared up.
I just join random sessions and do my own sieges. Most people tend to go for the head so I spend a lot of time on the legs and tail. It's a pretty easy fight by yourself.
Finally managed to pull off some sieges. Think this quest is really fun, downside is the amount of time you have to invest to build up the pursuit/reward and the randomness of the loot. I almost exclusively use GS but I haven't gotten a really good one. Got some white sharpness SnS and Duals but I don't use them so I'm not sure if they're decent. Anyone got good drops? Also, is the escape of Kulve Taroth entirely dependent on the quest time or is there some player agency to this? I'm not sure if just wailing at his feet really does anything. Does getting him glowing and breaking parts hinder his escape?
ive had times where the game says its about to leave the locale in area 3, but then we unleash it and it says weve stopped it from leaving the game probably works where the first time you fight it in a siege, it has a high hp/break tolerance across the board, and the more that people fight it/raise the level, the game will lower that tolerance
yes, that is what pursuit level is. the higher it is, the less hp she has.
Figured it was something like that. But it'd be interesting to know exactly what's going on, since actively attacking it doesn't seem to directly correlate with whether or not it escapes. Last night I carted a few minutes into area 2 running solo, and while I was restocking and returning I suddenly got the message that the escape had been prevented, despite me not having landed any damage for at least a minute.
Get your PP up so it's more intimidating.
All the GS are worse than Ignition, heres all the ones you should try getting. * Means its the second loot table not on PC yet https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/225583/cba1475f-e0b2-46df-a37e-798a06a154f1/image.png
What about the rarity 8 lightning lance? (375 raw, 600 hidden thunder, 20% affinity) More elemental than Kirin or Lightning Spire, and it's decent affinity and raw too. I love it, just take a hidden potential charm and some gloves to get the third point of hidden element unleash.
No white, while Claw has natural white and high affinity gives you a lot of free points so its very flexible
