How's Nergal Ram do overall for you? Been trying that para gunlance you suggested earlier and its soooooo good
Not sure, i've only really been using it on nergigante himself so far and I intend to use it solely as an elder buster due to the high elderseal
I'm preferring the para gunlance on Nerg though, he gets paralyzed 3 times easily, often at crucial times. Also, you should finish the main story and kill the double tempered goose to unlock your HR since you're still HR14

TBF Tempered Bazel is a motherfucker. Hes 300% mad and is constantly shitting out bomb turds. I could only beat the first HR block by using a ranged weapon, since using anything but that or maybe GL was getting me killed for daring to get near his crit spots. Regular Bazel is really easy and he only gets mad like 2 times in the entire fight.
Even tempered goose isn't that bad, you just hop out of the way. You get less chances to hit em, but its still easy imho. Also, sharpness doesn't really matter on gunlance nearly as much as other weapons since your shells aren't really impacted by it. Plus, they eat sharpness like Nerg eats elder dragons, its nuts. Though the dragon damage seems to be the most attractive part about it for elder dragons, I'll say that much.
Should have got to this post sooner but speaking as a long time MH veteran that's never ever found a contrary scale from chaos gore magala in 4U despite hunting it dozens of times, please don't use shit like that shop mod. Part of the MH endgame experience is finding materials to make new sets and equipment. Grinding your HR up wouldn't be half as fun if you're not gathering materials to create things constantly. I understand that Diablos can be a frustrating monster for people just getting into the series, but part of the game is also learning how to abuse monster behaviour and finding the openings to blow them apart. It's unfair for me to say that I find most of the veteran monsters pathetically easy now after hundreds of hours, but it's to say that with a bit of learning and attention, it's possible to make these fights shorter and more satisfying over time. Also, it's essentially cheating, and people looked bad for doing it back in 4U.
That's the thing with them, their blue bar is their largest bar than the entire sharpness scale bar red/orange. Even when spamming the finisher or using the gun, it rarely dips below green before a monster buggers off. Compare that to my bazel buster which was routinely in orange for majority of a fight. Also sharpness is still extremely important to land heavies that do almost as much damage as a charged hammer hit if you hit a crit spot. The sweeps are amazing at landing huge numbers while bursting, especially with a crit build. Doing 150-170 damage per swing is absolutely delicious, slapping a burst in the middle of that is like a cherry on top. Like the flexibility of gunlance's heavies is what makes it so attractive. I only use the gun on the gunlance to combo, or burst. Finisher is great for breaking armor as well as shots, but the main DPS comes from the heavies and poke attacks.
main dps depends on what shell type you have. for normal shell types, you'd use the fullburst combo that you're talking about, with the overhead slam, fullburst, wide sweep, quick reload, repeat. wide shell types is literally shell, poke, shell, poke, repeat long shell types utilizes charged shots.
Look I understand that most of the game is based around the grinding but when it gets to the degree where the game is purposely just making it so you spend more time in it for a single item that it refuses to drop after doing everything to increase that chance, then don't be surprised when people just stop attempting. This shit has put me off playing the game a few times, there is a fine balance between enjoying the gameplay and "I've gotta do this fucking shit again?" which can result in no actual reward. Its a grey area, personally I'd like it if the shop mod was swapped to be with the melder, that way you can swap out your useless trash for something you want but it still flows more with the game design, the guy who did the shop mod is looking into it but the melder uses an entirely different setup to say what she can and cant craft.
450 hours without a stream or gems is bullshit. You're describing stockholm syndrome, not playing a game. Much like warframe there is a limit where "far reaching" becomes "blatantly bullshit".

Trying to diversity my weapons from hammer with occasional bowgun / insect glaive / dual blades to try things like the pokey stick and greatsword. Pokey stick is fun, but I am awful at it. I wish to become THE WALL, at the moment, I am more like the fence.
Try Lance/Gunlance if you want the wall.
I'm sorry I find fighting a monster satisfying enough to believe there's value in that alone independent of getting the shiny rock I need from it.

If you're lucky you might be able to get the old save back through steam cloud. I think that would only work if you haven't launched the game since you replaced the save though. I think you can resync the cloud save by renaming the existing folder in steam's userdata folder (etc...), and then disable and enable cloud saves for the game in the game properties in steam.
Tempered Bazel is a motherfucker because he will occasionally roar stun you and/or push you in range of a primed scale just in time for it to blow up in your face which is an almost guaranteed instakill if you're not at full health and wearing tanky armor Cheesing it with ranged weapons is a piece of cake however
The two tempered Bazel quest was extreme easymode with HBG as you could just stand by and watch them absolutely murder each other with their increased damage while sometimes taking potshots at them. They must've damaged each other for like 60/70% before I actually went in far enough to go for the kill.
Also friendly reminder: use the falling boulders
PSA: If you go into game settings, you can choose to hide your headgear, or hide it in cutscenes.
brother where is the artillery
https://www.reddit.com/r/MonsterHunterWorld/comments/9cnhc5/my_hunting_career_is_over_im_the_palico_now/ I would let it just embed but it autoplays the video and that shit is annoying.
I did the same with a crystal burst stun from far away. My teammates were getting pissed.

https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/223296/b8ece055-90d8-479e-8a52-2036417dd3ea/image.png God I love how cozy this game is sometimes.
Apparently there's a sliding animation for when you're completely out of stamina. I had no idea this existed. https://i.imgur.com/bn2NW5t.mp4
I started MHGU and was uh...accidentally doing MP quests as opposed to the SP quests...in starter gear...for 5 hours. At least now I know how to fight a Great Maccao.
