I've been having a blast with World. Then I met Kushala.
Kushala does not allow fun.
The only fun thing about Kushala is getting a HBG with a lot of bomb ammo + Wyvernsnipe and watch him get swatted down like a fly when he starts going airborne.
Kushala is the main reason to have elderseal.

I just realized Flamey lion boi's FPS nuke was fixed with this update.
I'm fairly new to the game, got 10 hours in it and got into the desert area quite recently. My last mission was to hunt the big "mud fish" wyvern.
Been enjoying the Insect Glaive quite a bit (other than for getting stuck in attack animations when I'm facing away from the monster) but I haven't really locked myself into the weapon/any gear yet. I really tend to enjoy poison weapons in games, and I was wondering if its worth it to build around poison when using the insect glaive? I've absolutely no clue how effective poison is against lategame monsters, or even the earlygame ones. I'm still gathering materials for the first level Blooming Glaive and the Pukei armor (mainly the coil since that has the poison effect) but if it's not a good way to hunt monsters, I feel I can still switch to other weaponry.
Final boss spoilers ahoy
Just took out Xenojiva and I'm.... kinda dissapointed tbh.
He didnt have any cheeky tricks like the other five elder dragons, he didnt have any truly scary techniques, and he's just a big lumbering brick of HP. The attacks were so slow and telegraphed I could sidestep and have time to sharpen my weapon before he finished up.
Also youd think the weapons from the final fucking boss would have unique models and not be an existing model with bits glued on... At least the armour and palico gear is nice.
To a degree I can understand why people are disappointed in Xeno'jiva but from how I see it the way he's slow and sluggish and telegraphed is because he's practically a newborn existence. His attacks are like tantrums and extremely sloppy that he stumbles around and forces his way with brute strength rather than with some dexterity. His wild breath attack is a perfect example considering by the end of it he actually falls into the hole he makes from destabilizing the earth around him.
