I want to guess it might be Great Jagras related because I completely forgot he existed when I got into high rank until I beat the final boss.
A friend of mine managed to capture a very interesting behavior of the Deviljho...

Reminds me of that time when I pit traped the pickle and he proceeded to scoot away like a dog dragging his ass cross the carpet
Have people forgotten about feeding meat to the pickle? I put the sleeping meat so it eats it and the music kindly stops well in advance before it starts sleeping but people keep fighting like nothing happened and ruin the firework surprise
Remember. This is a lot of people's first MH game.
I've gotten this all the time when using sleeping ammo.
It doesn't take a great amount of experience in MH to think "hey, since this monster has completely stopped moving, attacking, or responding to anything, maybe now would be a great time to do more than just flail on the attack button".
Yeah but you know 80% of the won't bother to do that.
yeah not a lot of people actually know that sleep increases the damage I bet, they probably just think it's free hits at the end of the day.
I guess you have a point, and it hasn't been 2 days even since it started appearing I believe. Still, the music fading out even before Pickle starts munching on the meat should be a dead giveaway; hopefully people learn so we can all have pickle fireworks together
Fighting the pickle in the forest is such a pain in the ass, he moves so much and there's too many inconvenient ledges to move around as a result. I'm happy the verticality isn't as awful as it was in 4U (volcanic hollow still makes me groan) but it's still not great once it starts getting in the way.
It would be nice if ledges didn't rip you out of a dodging animation, I've had too many accidents and incredibly close calls happen because a ledge just so happened to be in the direction I'm trying to dodge in, leaving my character floating in midair for just a moment too long as a charging monster bears down on me.

Try this
Oh god scout flies are genuinely awful when a monster is flying somewhere. I removed them and now when I play I memorize the paths monsters take a lot better then when I had them on.
I am actually able to track where monsters have gone in Ancient Forest now without having to wait around for scoutflies to be competent

And other hilarious jokes you can tell yourself
I've been spending the last couple of days just trying to farm Lunastra investigations just so I can get her Giant Gold Crown (somehow I managed to get her mini crown on a total fluke in a fight I wasn't even intending to crown hunt on). It's not needed for the Giant Crown Master trophy, but I thought "hey, what's the harm in trying?". Turns out it's really fucking hard just to get Lunastra investigations, let alone one that'll yield a crown. I ended up giving up and went back to crown hunting monsters that do count for the respective small and giant-crown trophies. Only took me 5 fights to get both of Kushala Daora's crowns. RNGesus is laughing at me from somewhere, man, I've NEVER had a monster's crowns come so easily.
That's nuts dude. Totally trying this out when I can

I'm so gonna make a GS set just to use that thing when it comes out. I imagine I'm not the only one

Eat shit, Bulldrome asshole. Felt good watching him die in less than a minute after it took 45 minutes to kill the '???' Mizutsune and having this charging fuck interrupt me so much.
There is already a depot for the KT title update on SteamDB

I know that they say you can knock bazel down by attacking his feet, but does it ever actually happen? I've never seen it actually work and it's always a death trap.
i thought it was a thing with all monsters that if you just blow their legs off, they'll fall over
Had it happen a couple times but GL is also just really good at tripping monsters. Attacking feet does trip most monsters as well, its one of the ways SnS can get more damage without using an item to immobilize the monster.
