Call of Duty Black Ops 4: Blackout - "Where we droppin, Reznov?"

I'm surprised how much I love this, but I'm concerned that it's not a standalone game. Not only am I not going to pay $60 just for BR, but what happens when the next COD releases?
It definitely feels like equipment and perk usage is way more important especially at the beginning of a game, i was able to easily slaughter people over in asylum by using the crouch speed perk with dex and if i was lucky maybe dead silence, going around with a shotgun and being able to tackle people at multiple points by switching attacking points really quickly to keep them on their toes. It feels like that sensor dart is also crazy good for stuff like that in CQC situations.
Oh man, the game runs like ass for me on pc with a GTX 970. Even with everything on medium and vsync off the framerate is erratic.
Same here, fellow 970 brother. I have an easier time running PUBG
I like blackout a lot and some of the changes in this installment, but I just can't support Activisions shitty practices.
Ah shit, I played a few matches, and I like this game already...
Theres none of that pubg shit of firing at people and having your bullets not go anywhere. Hitmarkers help, honestly, because theres a feedback telling you that "yes what you are firing isn't being lost to the Abyss, keep firing"
Now you could argue its two different styles of games, but honestly, pubg's lack of feedback when firing at people seriously pisses me off because one moment I'm killing a guy, the other I'm doing the exact same thing, but shots aren't connecting.
lost my first game, won my second. this is already my favorite BR game because of that
If anyone wants to squad up today I suck but I’d enjoy the company in defeat
The game was fine last night, but today it feels like armor absorbs entire mags of 5.56-9mm like you're shooting a squirt gun. Dump a mag on someone with a 5.56 rifle and hit them 10 times and they still have 50 hp left over. Person had enough time to turn around and shoot me before. Extremely unsatisfying to get the jump on someone and they still kill you because they had the better armor.
I've always liked CoD for the gunplay. It's easy enough to get into, which in turn is a bit of a downside because it doesn't take that much of a "genius" to play it and I've been groomed to hate games like that, but on the other hand, its relaxed enough that I can do well without bursting an artery doing arithemetics, wind and moisture calculations to land a single hit and actually have fun with it.
I just wish they didn't killed it within a year with a new game like they usually do. This game looks like it would be the central MP core game of a franchise, where everyone gathers for competitive online play, while everything else would just be the SP+MP standard game, seeing how this has BR and seems to be going the way of MP games of nowadays like CSGO, OW, Siege and so on.
Or at least I want to believe its going that way...
Oh, it has a lot to do if it wanted to go that route.
"Borrowing" guns and vehicles from previous games would be a start, as well as swapping out perks for more recognizable ones.
Even so, as much as I like the mode (which is a lot) … I can't see it replacing the regular multiplayer for me. Fights just go on way too quick and I don't like the one-and-your-out way of battle royales, which I'll admit is a personal problem rather then one with the game. Despite this, I'm crossing my fingers that we'll see 40v40 "Super Ground War" modes later on release
Just putting this out there, activating both the crouch move speed perk and the silent step one is absurdly OP.
you can just swiggity swooty straight behind people in buildings with zero indication you're anywhere near them.
Been doing it with a 4 stack and its downright unfair, anytime someones in a building just slap that shit on and get teammates to be a distraction.
Goddamn as much as I mocked COD for doing battle royale I like it so far. Like that its not super super janky.
I really enjoyed this battle royale and while I'm not going to pre-order this, I'll be watching this.
I love the speed, I love the goof factor, I love the weapon handling, and I love the optimization. It's got it all, the game is just fun.
I dunno if it's because I have a Titan X Pascal and it's not a conventional card, but no matter what my settings are I'm getting ~85fps.
Anyway I played about 15 matches, won my last one.
I think the time to kill is a bit fast but I love how fast the circle moves, the weapons feel right, and I like being able to heal while moving.
I don't like how quiet the footsteps are, and being able to conceal them entirely is really OP.
I think there's a lot of visually similar guns that shoot very differently. There's a way to get a gun description when you loot someone but I couldn't find another way to bring that up.
I don't know how this compares to PUBG, but compared to Fortnite I like the tension, the speed and the weapons better in Blackout. However I think Fortnite wins on readability and overall balance.
I'll skip this unless it's released as a standalone for less than 20$.
iirc the game is locked at 90fps on pc, i heard that in a stream i think
Beta got extended for 2 more hours as of right now, until 12PST
They also bumped up the player count to 100 for these last two hours
They should've bumped it to a few more days because it was fun as fuck
I've been having a blast with Blackout, actually tempted to buy this.
Mw2 had a third person mode, and it was cool af
Personally i'd want it to remain first person only. Third person introduces all kinds of wonky balance issues to work around like peaking around corners, being able to shoot more clearly while ADS, and being able to see tracer direction more clearly from enemy fire. Basically it's too huge an advantage for a TPS player to fight an FPS player.
Technically if the game had a 3rd Person mode everybody would be playing in that perspective, at least thats how PUBG works I think
Yeah, all the more reason to not add it. Zombies and MP will be FPS, why make your battle royal mode third person? People just want it to be AAA pubg so bad I guess.
i'd like to see more variety in the weapons, specifically for the care packages. theyre only really worth going for if you don't have level 3 armor or a sniper.
also the team mate indicators are obnoxious.
Sometimes the care packages have a war machine, not sure what other weapons it might drop. They will definitely add more in the full game. I got the chance to use the Zweihander double-barrel LMG from a zombie crate and it shreds players down.
I'm a fan of the old weapons you can find in Zombie areas, but not being able to put attachments on makes them pretty useless. I really hope they fix this, at least let us put scopes on them.
How does one join just a regular TDM in CoDWWII on pc? the menus are so confusing
I think the point of the lever-action is that it's more of an easter egg, while the double-barreled machinegun intentionally doesn't have any due to it being an incredible damage dealer. Same with the ray gun, although in my time playing the beta I never saw it.
I'll be honest. I loved the battle royale mode but my biggest problem was that I coulden't switch to regular Domination to hone my skills. So I'm kindof excited for the full release
Honestly it's hard to want to buy the game just for the BR because of not only the steep 60 dollar tag, but also because it costs an additional 10 dollars to install space-wise
Compress your fucking shit, people
Hit me up if you're gonna be playing the midnight pc launch in 12 hours on Battle.net: Killzor#11517
