Nintendo General - Paid Online is Here, Get Your 56k Modems Ready

Fortnite does not require a subscription to be played online.
To be honest as much as I don't like fortnite that's a smart move.
It’s dumb that you have to pay to play online for some third party games. Most of them aren’t even hosted by the console creator anyway. Good thing Nintendo/epic realized that
Btw, for those interested in Dragonball FighterZ, the game runs in 1080p/60 FPS docked and 720p/60 FPS undocked.
I believe this is the case for any online game that is free.

Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) and Nintendo Account required for online play. Not available in all countries. Internet access required for online features.
ppppppfffffftttttt
Or maybe have some self control and wait for the full release?
You know, I'm disappointed in Nintendo for not trying to sucker in people for the Nintendo Online, they could have easily done it by offering a exclusive access to the Smash Ultimate Demo by having a 12-month subscription, somewhat like the Splatoon 2 items you get.
I think i'll have to get online
I need my monhun
I'll probably wait until Ultimate comes out and I do a decent chunk of single player stuff in the game before I get online. Basically waiting until all that's really left for me is to play online mostly
Neither does it on PS4- I think that applies to any free game (or ff14 on ps4 because they worked out a deal)
So I haven't turned on my 3DS since apparently Nintendo was banning everyone that has custom firmware installed. Did anyone ever find out the flag Nintendo was looking for?
Nothing changed. Don't go online with pirated games, don't cheat in online games.
Anyone who got banned had it coming.
A small amount of good news:

Would be nice if they could do the same for Splatoon 2
smash is one of the few games that even if itll have flaws, is essentially guaranteed to be a good game.
Welp, looks like after a year my dock finally scratched my Switch's screen in the bottom right hand corner.
It's a very light scratch, but it's right over the black part so it's visible any time light is hitting it.
Is there any good way to get out a light scratch like this without fucking up the screen, or am I just stuck with it?
And beyond that, any way to prevent this shit in the future?
Two options: one, buy a screen protector, preferably tempered glass. Two, buy these little adhesive felt pad things and stick them in the corners and/or middle of the sides of the dock. These will stop the bare plastic of the dock from hitting your Switch's screen and I'm confused that there's no little rubber parts to do the same in the base Switch dock. I've done both, personally.

Yeah, I was going to recommend the felt pads too. They cost pretty much nothing in most bargain and hobby stores.
I can't wait to pay money to play online Smash with 500 ping and 40% packet loss on yet another console with no built in ethernet port.
Don't worry, you'll just have to pay for Splatoon 2's online which is hosted on your own console, and has a refresh rate that was deemed unacceptable before most of the players were even born
I couldn't play fortnite on PS4 with ps+?

thank you nintendo, very cool!
20$ please
I'll definitely check that out.
If it's a shallow enough scratch, is there any safe way to buff it out though? It's constantly visible due to not actually being on the part that the actual screen itself takes up, and it's annoying as hell.
At first I thought you were joking but they tell you to get a lan adapter (i didn't even know that was a thing!)
So that pretty much makes 95% of the people playing smash on wifi with P2P, I can already see the lag from here.
I can only yearn for the day Nintendo decides to go multiplat I mean that's exactly why Sega is still around they saw opportunities and took them.
This is why I stopped playing splatoon 2 for real. When the servers do manage to not fuck themselves I always get inbred fourth trimester abortions on my team. I'm not terrible, but I definitely shouldn't be placing top on the scoreboard on my team nine out of ten games I play and some jackass with a paint brush is just jerking off in a corner.
I was never good enough to play smash online to begin with so the only thing I'll really be missing out on is mario kart pubs.
Any new/returning features you want in the new Animal Crossing game?
I would love to have some of the features that were in Happy Home Designer, like putting stuff in front of your house and items like rugs and ceiling furniture. It'd also be nice if you could get an additional storage item like a backpack.
