cool, glad almost everybody's coins expired before we even got anything worth using them for.
Even then I bet it'd be something outrageous like 2000 coins per year, you're better off with the eshop discounts
so splatoon is kinda hellish at rank x now.
I'm gonna take a long break once online comes out and hope for a better service, but knowing nintendo their solution to cheating will probably just be to ban every console with the old exploit they find hacking and hope the problem goes away.
it'd be cool if the new animal crossing game had other segments to your town, like an actual forest where you can find and meet interesting new things. the whole game being a town and tiny island always felt claustrophobic to me
animal crossing but just a much larger scale is really all i want
So if your online sub runs out your $60 controllers are useless, brilliant
At that point it'd be better to use them on PC
Like I understand it's to match up with the NES games, but who in hell actually like the NES controller?
The shape is horrible and hurts your hands. The SNES controller and onward were better by miles just for being hand friendly.
I want to go a bit further, and ask who the fuck is going to pay $20 then another $60 on top of that for some controllers that have one use?
novelty old-school gaming experience
I'm willing to bet that Nintendo doesn't want to make a lot of them, so by limiting them to one Nintendo Online account per purchase and making them work only with NES games, that plan should almost assuredly work.
This isn't good of course, but I doubt it's done out of idiocy.
I just wish for Dedicated Servers. The fact we have to pay for P2P gets to me.
If anything I'm just glad they're doing the week trial to get most people through the Splatfest that have no interest in the other bullshit.
The NES Classic is $59.99.
To be fair here, you get like 300 coins per full price digital purchase. Sometimes even doubled, like 600. That's 6 eu/ $6 that you get from buying a game, almost enough to get a 3 month subscription.
So the guy who's been hacking the boards on Splatoon 2 all day got to the top of all four Level X boards to read:

How fucking cool would it be if that actually sent a message to the higher ups at Nintendo?
Just outlining an entire manifesto of everything wrong with their proposed service by hacking the names in the Splatoon leaderboards?
It's like Robin Hood crossed with those sign gags from Captain Underpants.

Friendly reminder for those of you who do want classic controllers that 8BitDo does it better in every single way.
They provided SNES controllers, SNES controllers with analog sticks and gyro, and finally if you already have an official NES or SNES controller they also offer modkits so you can use em in most modern devices.

Yup, this what I'm planning to do, and it'll cost the same price for the NES one if you buy 2 new pairs of NES Classic Controller + 2 boards ($40).
