Depends, is Goku on it?
I would only leak what people are already leaking so I wouldn't disprove any leaks.
I'd be very cryptic about it. Like, if a guy was posting in a forum about how he hopes characters X, Y, and Z are in, but I know Y actually made it, I'd reply like "you're gonna be happy" or something like that. Just stirring the pot and jerking people around, rather than outright leaking anything, especially right before a Direct/trailer/reveal.
Maybe, what did the envelope say?
@Zombie The Discord link is expired, here's the new one. https://discord.gg/zHXb4QZ
I’d probably talk to close friends and family about it, but that’s it. I trust them enough to not leak it on the internet themselves too
I'd probably leak via text and keep the photos/videos to myself and my friends. That way I could keep people guessing as characters gradually get revealed. Even though DasVergeben has been right so far we still can't 100% trust in the other characters he leaked, simply because we're going solely off his/his sources' word. We might have an idea of what's coming, but we won't know for absolute certain until we see a reveal trailer. Maybe I'd leave out one or two super hype characters so people could go completely unspoiled. That seems like the most fun way to go about it, in my mind at least.
i'd burn everything no one should have a hold of this information
I would photoshop in Seinfeld in every piece of media before leaking it, making Seinfeldgate a reality.
Honestly, I'd probably be a total ass and do what the "MOTHER FUCKER ESRB" 4Chan leaker did with the 3DS roster, where I'd mix in legit info and some small hint of indisputable video/photo evidence, mixed in with fake info just to throw people off Now that assist trophies are closer to fighters (instead of acting like normal items that just happen to look like a character), I'd probably show some up close footage of an unrevealed assist trophy in battle that could be mistaken for a newcomer. In a different timeline where Takamaru or Sukapon were not revealed as AT's already, those would probably be the characters I tried to spoof a "fighter" video of.
Now that's a brand of evil I can get behind.
You sound like a monster. Very nice
I'll probably keep my mouth shut since i like to see the faces when it's finally shown.
I would mindfuck people by making elaborate arguments on why the newcomers not announced yet are not plausible, but do it all in one thread post so that people get really confused about how "inaccurate" I was when they actually are revealed.
Senfieldvision knows no bounds.
I'd make "guess" posts everywhere where I act like anyone else and just take guesses at who is gonna be in the game and how they might play, and act totally oblivious each time I'm proven right
I'd either leak my favorites and no-one else, or I leak the characters that are already appearing on all the fake leaks (Ken, Shadow, etc) to make the wait for actual new content even more excruciating.
if one of them was a character i really wanted and/or expected and nobody else agreed with me, I'd rub it in their faces those being Kyo, Monster Hunter, and Dante
I'd show a bunch of new characters that certain people wanted and call them assist trophies Once people start making fun of those fans they'll get shit on after the reveal
is the only downside that I could spoil things for other players or would I be betraying the trust of Sakurai too? In this senario am I supposed to imply that he sent them with the idea of "do whatever you want with these" or was it just meant for me? 'cause if he doesn't care then i'd probably share stuff but otherwise I would feel too bad tbh
I would confirm only the most predictable of things, and keep the rest for only myself to know until it's revealed proper Maybe throw out one curveball no one guessed but will get confirmed shortly, so my other assertions would be immediately trusted
These are all interesting takes ngl If you don't mind another hypothetical question let's say you personally get to choose the final newcomer who would it be? The catch is that this doesn't have to be a secret at all. You can just get your most wished character in, you could poll a few friends or communities and try to pick someone that would make the most people happy, or you can be a utter shitter and add some terrible meme that'll be funny for like 5 minutes before regret hits. What would you do with this most cursed ability
Rayman.
I'm split between Banjo-Kazooie or Paper Mario. Banjo would probably win out in the end.
Goku because of the meltdown he would cause.
Goku but this one https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1867/8e5fcdee-16c2-45b9-a1a8-d2d006ce36a2/image.png
The fair answer is Banjo. Banjo and Kazooie would make everybody happy, it would be universally praised, there wouldn't be a single problem with it at all and it would end SSBU's roster on a very high note. My real answer is Isaac because fuck you I still like those games and I always wanted him in. You can all choke to death on the salt.
This so much, Rayman 1-3 were my favorite games growing up. Sakurai adding him to Smash would make me so happy, god knows Ubisoft isn't going to give him the love he deserves.
I will have complete power to pick whoever the fuck I want in Smash and I won't ever have this opportunity again, so I would pick Malcolm from Unreal Tournament, because it's one of my most favorite games and having a UT rep in Smash should reignite the franchise's relevancy. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/146362/3a8070a5-6c4c-4043-be99-5a7242dd6b49/front.jpg Extra points for Malcolm being the first black character in Smash
Here's another question: you can make one aesthetic change to the game, but it can't affect the gameplay itself. Let's pretend that if you want to change an attack, the hitbox ends up being roughly the same. My pick is that I give Donkey Kong his DK64 voice back and finally put the gorilla noises to death.
