Couldn't an echo fighter of Robin be Celica with infinite durability but not as powerful moves? So she's more consistent like Lucina and Chrom

Celica was a dumpster fire in her game and I'd rather not see such a poorly written character in smash, echo or otherwise. She existed only to muck up her half of the game so Alm can swoop in to fix all her blatantly stupid bullshit. It's like if all those Disney princesses were actively working with the bad guys to make sure everyone is miserable, and then wondering why bad things kept happening to people.

She doesn't, she casts magic from HP. I think the fact that Chrom only got in due to the ballot means we're shit outta luck for cool Echoes that aren't popularity related. Like Malos from XB2 would be a perfect Shulk echo but no-one voted for him.

Fire Emblem has probably retroactively earned their over saturation by cashing in the waifubucks with Gacha Emblem which has probably made more money than the rest of the franchise put together off of whales by now.

I like fire emblem. I joked about some characters getting in back in Smash 4. It's just that now there's way too many in there and not enough to set them all apart that the idea of even more makes me want to hurl. The fact it has (I believe) the same amount as pokemon or around it and more than Zelda is insane to me. If they chose unique fighters with different weapons, hair colors, armor, whatever I'd be more for it but as it stands I'm just tired of it all. I have less than 0 desire to see another sword wielder from the franchise even as a echo. Like it's all personal taste but it's not like that can be helped really.

I feel that the main problem is that they only put in main character when those main characters are 90% samey as fuck bland swordboys. If they just spread out from the start to give some more representation to other classes like armored units, axemen or lances we wouldn't be in this mess.

For real, delete Corrin, Roy, Lucina and Chrom. Put in Lyn, Hector, Tiki, Anna (with a money gimmick) and I'd be fine with more of it. Lyn may have a sword user but her design is distinct enough. Anna is in the same boat but she's a series mascot and you can have her pull out every weapon due to being a shopkeep. Have her clobber people with a sack of gold and spill weapons out. Add Jaffar if you want a thief just anything to mix it up instead of the Lords + Corn. Right now the only FE characters I think are slam dunks are Marth Ike and Robin. I don't mind Corrin but he/she's clearly on the black sheep family so if someone aside from the clones had to go I'd kick im' to the curb

I think Corrin is the breaking point. It would be bad enough without Corrin because you have three uniques and three clones/half-clone, but the fact that Corrin got in, a character that people either don't care about or despise, specifically just to advertise their game at the end of the game's lifecycle being treated on the same level as Cloud and Bayonetta, is the straw that broke the camel's back. Because you remove Roy, Corrin, Lucina, and Chrom, and you have three perfectly unique fighters with the only real similarities being down-b counters and swords which is reasonable enough for a series with several dozen games and across three console generations.

On that note, I want Nintendo to retire Toon Link's design already. He represents five Links without the slightest variation on his design besides his conductor's outfit in Spirit Tracks. Could you imagine if Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Breath Of The Wild, and Link Between Worlds recycled Ocarina of Time Link's design 100% without changing a single element of it? It'd be madness. I want to see Toon Link 2.0 next time they try that sort of style.

Probably the only one who thinks this, but if they really needed to market Fates in Smash, I think Azura would have gone over better than Corrin. I mean say what you will about her character, I'd rather have a waterbending lance/spear wielding songstress over another swordfighter.

I just want some Fates music/ trophies in the game

Or Assistant Trophy I'm kinda pissed of that Lyn is the only Fire Emblem AT in the entire series Considering how many non-main characters are in the series, it would give a excuse to show off the more unqie and non-swords characters

The proper pronoun for Corrin and Robin (and Inkling, and Villager, and any character without a fixed gender) is "they". Being adamant in using a single one makes you look like those annoying tumblr kids who pretend their headcanons are official and supercede any other opinion.

I know I'm super late to the announcer thing, but for announcers, I'd rather have the different announcers from the different Smash games over just characters. (Jeff Manning from 64, Dean Harrington from Melee, Pat Cashman from Brawl, and of course keeping Xander Mobus) Might just be me, I just think it'd REALLY sell the "Ultimate" factor, iunno.
