Trailer starts off as a normal fight in unassuming gameplay, but then Snake throws one of the purple motion-sensor bombs from Brawl-onward. The camera switches to a different view of it landing, and immediately afterward a Goldeneye-style timed mine landing next to it. Personally I don't want Bond because, you know, he didn't originally come from a video game. Joanna Dark would be a lot more reasonable.

I'm really excited for this game's WTF character. Wii Fit and Duck Hunt were fucking insane and I love them.

If the 72 char theory is true and our remaining newcomers are Ken and Incenoroar, I'm thinking the honorary "WTF" role goes to Isabelle this time.

Not Richter? I'm a fan of Castlevania and Rondo of Blood is probably my favorite, but he was clearly unexpected and perhaps worthy of that title.

To be fair with Villager in Smash Isabelle being in isn't really WTF considering her moveset is somewhat similar in theme. I'm talking about the obscure characters with negative potential that Sakurai gives a moveset to. Shit like ROB, G&W, Wii Fit, Duck Hunt, etc.

Ultimate will definitely get DLC, so I'm expecting at least one WTF character at SOME point.

Isabelle isn't WTF because she's massively popular and everybody's "omg mai precious waifu don't touch mai waifu isabelle is not for bully >_<" character so she doesn't count.

I was admittedly stretching some, but I don't see many options left to be added if some of the theories about us only having a few characters left are true, since Sakurai is probably sooner prioritizing other franchises beforehand.

Yeah I fully don't expect a WTF character on release. But it's like a Smash tradition at this point so DLC at least

DLC would definitely be a good time to release a WTF character. My pick for a WTF character would probably be Excitebiker, since Sakurai kinda toyed around with the idea as far back as Melee.

God Melee was just filled with unused WTF characters. Mach Rider, Excitebike, Bubbles, Urban Champion, Ayumi Tachibana...

James Bond as a character would only be ok if they added his shitty Goldeneye model with big head mode on

There was something that I remembered thinking of a long time ago. It'd be really cool if there was a transformation stage that went between different BIOS/startup screens of different Nintendo systems. The Famicom Disk System could be the start with a flat walk-off and thing you can hit in the center to change the colors of the map. The Satellaview opening could be the SNES stand-in, maybe turning the stage into an autoscroller where you hop from building to building. The N64 had a bios screen with the 64DD. Maybe Polygon Mario could screw with the stage and add different effects to platforms. Gamecube is an obvious one, battle on the clear cube. Or hell they could skip this one to make it the Battlefield/Omega form base. Wii / Wii U could have stuff based on their home menus. I just love when they pull back from old stuff like this and reuse it in strange ways. I'm still impressed that we got that Satellaview suit in Mario Odyssey (was that technically the first ever reference to it outside of Japan? I don't know if we got the Badge Arcade badge for it in the states).

You know I wouldn't be surprised if the "retro callback fighter" is one of those unused concept. I place my vote on Mach Rider just because his design might be real cool like something out of Mad Max.

I'm worried about how Ice Climbers are gonna be in Smush. I feel like Rosa is just better at doing their job with Luma. If Nana came back after a while I wonder how that would change things up.

Both the people who were rooting for Banjo and the people who were rooting for Goku would probably be very fucking pissed.

Honestly Labo-man seems like such a no-brainer. Not only would he be cool and allows for a lot of creativity but its free advertising.

Honestly Pierce Brosnan Bond would be such a fucking choice pick. Obviously would never happen but a reveal trailer for Goldeneye's 007 would fuck me up. In terms of realism I do hope Nintendo has a left-field darkhorse up their sleeve, like Mach Rider or Excitebike or something we've never thought of.
