I don't see any leak anywhere. Esam doesn't have anything about it and even looking at all the results for "smash leak" with the uploaded today filter doesn't have anything. Also, I'm not sure why Esam would have anything about it either. He's just a competitive player

Even if I really don't want a demo, due to dataminers out there starving to get their hands on it, it would be pretty cute if the demo only included the OG roster and the OG stages included in Ultimate (with a few extras).
Maybe even have like 3-4 extra unlocks (newcomers maybe) which would translate to the release version as unlocked if you keep the save data.

Stuff like that is exactly why I don't want a demo. I'm still disappointed that Ryu got spoiled (twice) due to Nintendo not clearing their damn music files and uploading the update early. The more that they can avoid another scenario like that the better.
Wasn't the Smash 3DS demo pretty clean? I don't recall anyone finding anything major from datamining that, so if they did do an Ultimate demo I'm confident it would be the same way

Gotta feel bad for minecon staff even if it doesn't interest me at all. People were spamming "SMASH??? STEVE SAMSH??? SMASH???" in chat and even when asked to cool it they wouldn't. They wound up banning the word and censoring it from chat to get it to stop.

Literally I'm racking my brain trying to think of an example and I can't. So why would people expect it at Minecon?
During Smash 4 every character was revealed during E3 or a Direct or on the official website.
I really wish people would stop expecting every incredibly vaguely related Smash event to have a newcomer announcement because it literally never happens lol.
Yeah it's genuinely super annoying. There was nothing at EVO or TGS, why on earth would Nintendo give a reveal to a small convention to show off- especially when no Nintendo staff is present at all. It's really stupid and I can fully get why they're ticked off handling the con's livestream situation.
If I'm being honest, was thinking about it earlier but Minecon is a consistent thing right? My griping aside I do think that Smash not being around as a demo kiosk hard deconfirms *anything* minecraft related getting into the game. Reasoning being pretty simple and a pretty large stretch just hear me out.
Let's say Steve, a Stage, or a Assist Trophy got in. To me it makes sense that they would of been announced before Minecon (as in a previous direct or so, not the day before) that way Minecon -a official event- would have a kiosk for people to play as Steve or see the stage in person due to the content. I don't think Smash would show up at a normal con mind you- but one that's hosted by a primarily microsoft focused event? If any it would make sense to show up there due to how big a deal it is.
It's a pretty big stretch that ultimately means nothing but it's been on my mind ever since I saw dudes hyping themselves up for a announcement that was obviously never going to happen. My biggest concern is if I worded that alright as it was kind of hard to get my train of thought down ;;

That announcement legitimately shocked me. Ever since Nintendo started putting their names on big tournaments people have been saying shit like "they're gonna announce something before top 8" for years. And for once, it actually happened.
