You know, even if ARMS is not as vibrant as it was on launch, its really nice to see Nintendo at least still caring about the game, albeit small character specific contests. Heck even after the game came out, they were still adding free characters and modes. ya know, unlike Capcom with MVCi

did not come from brand new IP, lol. Fire emblem is hugely popular in Japan, he was a safe bet. ARMs is a brand new series. Not really comparable.
Nintendo has been loving the "games as a service" approach lately. I am honestly expecting smash to be supported with DLC for a long time.
At the very least I hope they pump out costume DLC.
But they shouldn't overdo it like they did with Smash 4. Way too much and overpriced DLC for the maps and characters.
If we get a Rhythm Heaven Mii costume but not a character I'm going to punch a Pichu
If they have a lot I'm sure they would adjust prices accordingly. Or they know people would pay anyway so they just don't care about making it fair.
I know some people are very against the idea, but I wouldn't mind a season pass at all as long as it's not the only way you can buy DLC. People should be able to pick individual DLC according to their preference, but for guys like me who end up buying all the characters anyways a season pass is nice.
As long as they don't pad it with Mii stuff.
expect nothing and never experience disappointment ive found holding a negative attitude actually gives more oppotunity for excitement and enjoyment to be possible
I tried that and I found it hard to see the joy in a lot of things.
Every time someone says this I just can't help but feel that's no fun at all. Not ever expecting anything out of things is such a boring concept to me.
Trust me. I tend to have that attitude. It is really hard to get rid of and it's not fun at all. I know its a joke and all. But you start to look for negatives in anything so you have an excuse to hate something.
Getting disappointed over your thing not being in is only bad if the thing you're gonna play will suffer without it. I'd die for Wonder Red or a musical rep in Smush but even if it doesn't happen I'M GONNA PLAY THE FUCK OUT OF IT
A Tomodachi Life stage that uses your Miis would be a great stage gimmick.
Doesn't the Tomodachi Life stage in the 3DS version of SSB4 already do that, or are you referring to something else?
Didn't we like just have a Direct a couple weeks ago? I'm not expecting anything major related to Smash until the end of the month at the absolute earliest. Maybe a trailer in there somewhere, but certainly not something as massive as a Direct. Pokemon comes out the second week of November, I feel like they'll want to get that out of the way and then completely bukkake us with Smash stuff for the remainder of the month until it comes out three weeks later. It'd be good timing if we really are getting a new Pokemon rep, too. They did the same thing with Villager's reveal, making him the initial focus of the first Sm4sh trailer when literally everyone and their grandma was playing the then-recent New Leaf.
Reminder that Sakurai never said "Don't expect too many characters." 22:50 of the initial Smash reveal. We've made including every single fighter ever our number one goal so I'm kind of hoping you aren't expecting too many new challengers There is a WORLD of difference between "don't expect too many new challengers" and "Because you already have these fighters I kind of hope you don't expect too many new ones". The second one is like what your parents say before Christmas when you ask for a PS2 when you already have an XBOX and GameCube (when they already bought you a PS2). In other words, he just made a 4 course meal and asked "You still want dessert, huh?".
The worst part was how Mii's aren't available for online play so it was all that for basically just for me to look at.
Now how will I show my support for K. Rool online? https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1822/fcb20317-24bb-45fc-b804-917457fd6a52/image.png
Reminder that there was a smash direct in August, then less than a month later we were scheduled a regular direct with a smash character. I think it's highly likely we get a smash direct sometime in the middle of the month. Plus hey, if the leaked name is true, what better month to introduce "Spirits"? With my luck it'll take place on my midterms
If there is a Smash direct in October, this will be consistent with the pattern of having Smash directs two months apart, as was the case with E3's Direct in June going forward into the August 8th Direct.
Honestly if they announced Isaac and Geno (Sun and Moon) I think that'd be the literal perfect October direct.

Do you know how much fucking money Nintendo would make if they made a Bowsette Peach skin? A lot.
i don't understand why people want isaac lol. golden sun was never anything special to begin with, he's not particularly unique or special in any way, and people shit on Nintendo for adding so many anime swordsmen as it is. where's the appeal?
While I also am somewhat in this camp, Golden Sun (while not doing a lot special) is highly regarded by many as one of the best RPGs ever made. It's also first party Nintendo and has enough relevance that they gave him an Assist trophy (with his removal as an Assist Trophy giving the Isaac fans a reason to push now more than ever due to that being a possibility for his inclusion).
In his games, he usually has geomancer type abilities as well as the "Move" ability that he did in Brawl. I'm pretty sure they can easily make another caster type swordsman out of him like they did with Robin. Also the "anime swordsman" meme really needs to die.
Isaac is already in the game https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/272579/1dbb0d9b-9ce3-4f3c-b5fc-48b5961840c7/image.png
