Wanted to catch this post, but trust me when I say Gael caught many by surprise and I'd be amazed if he doesn't make it. Artorias is super popular in that he's the "oooh he's soooo hard!" that no other boss has captured for a long time until Ghermen and Gael appeared. No one expected them to be hard yet amazing bosses in their own right. Artorias is in the OG game everyone talks about, but Gael has proven to be the next big boss everyone gushes over and I'm okay with that. Double win if they both appear in some form.

Is anyone else not really digging the story mode stuff? I don't think I've ever been less interested in a story before. I just end up skipping everything and going straight to the fighting. I really want to like this game, but something about it isn't really hooking me. It's, a shame too because I love Soul Calibur.
Only thing I don't like is the abysmal input readin AI.
It's really frustrating.
It gets much worse in Libra of Souls, so the only way to survive is to augment your weapons with reversal edge heals.
It's amazing how I'm so good at character creation but my actual fighting game skills are dogshit on the PS4. All of the characters I use I end up mashing buttons until someone dies. the R1 reversal edge mechanic is pretty damn handy though.
I managed to get the Ancient of the Snake Sword quest in Libra of Souls done last night even though I was 11 levels under by cheesing it with Ivy's 4B repeatedly.

Something tells me that SoulCalibur VI will end up getting nominated as a Steam Awards Game of the Year, but that's mostly because we live in a world without the PS4 Spiderman game or Red Dead Redemption 2. For the GOTY category, anything other than Monster Hunter World or SCVI is anyone's guess.
The fact that God Eater 3's PC port didn't get cancelled should say something about how well the game sold on PC (SoulCalibur VI and GE3 are from the same devs). Also remember that fighting games are much more popular on consoles, so..... I'd worry more about how well Katamari Damacy Rerolled does tbh because it's not exactly a big fucking deal like SoulCalibur, Tales, Ace Combat or Tekken.

I know people like to complain about Nightmare, but does he ever force you to play specific characters just to have a fighting chance against him?

Mina is just an annoyance to play against. Your only way to best her easily is to get in with a character that hits fast, and even that isn't guaranteed because Mina's moves are quite fast and even sometimes deadly. If you're ever grounded from Mina, expect to always get poked immediately after hitting the ground. Almost no matter what you try to do, you're gonna get hit again.
Nightmare stays true to his name in terms of damage and reach, but he's easy enough to get in with. Sophitia is annoying for sure, but she has such small range.
Mina has both speed and range, and that has ALWAYS been the secret to success in Soul Calibur.

On the topic of the 2butt, i think the video's guess is as good as anyone else's because of Tekken 7. However, I think balance changes are more important certain characters say anything. Then again, i am thinking that they'll coincide with 2B's release, which is honestly a bad thing because being matched up with OP characters isn't fun.
