TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station V12 - Miniguns are SCARY - look it up

When there is a class specifically designed around building aimbots, giving infinite health and ammo to his team and teleporting wherever he likes why do people insist on hacking the game to do those very same things>
I ban cheaters almost daily and even I find your post really stupid.
comparing engineer with sniper is uh not relevant the least.
uhh ok? I was comparing Engineers awesome services and abilities like constructing aimbots, infinite health and teleportation to those that cheaters utilize but you do you man.
you are actually suggesting cheaters should just repent themselves into engineer because "he does the same things as ur lmaobox"
no not at all. not even close.
engineer spends more time failing than suceeding because he's full of weaknesses, limitations and counters that make even the best sentry in the best spot a mere nuisance.
Dispensers aren't as useful as you think they are and certainly do not replace medics. Teleporters are often a liability and require more effort than they pay off, even at a pathetic 50 metal.
And finally, engineer's biggest challenge is having to travel huge lengths on foot to get things done and exposing himself to enemies that basically one-shot him thanks to his measly 125 hp and zero escape capabilities the moment he dares to get anywhere close relevant fighting zones.
Last time I played this game was one year ago on the last halloween event, they still haven't fixed the banjo bug in the shop.
sometimes I just see it coming and to prevent getting fucked I just switch on my own
except then my new team suddenly becomes inept the moment I join
and then I change again and it's all the opposite again
i guess i'm really that bad
oh right lol
community server shenanigans
When I played yesterday I was autobalanced onto the losing team, the game got turned around, then I got autobalanced again when there was less than a minute left in the match.
Thank you valve, very cool!
I've been binge-watching After Breakfast's videos about the lore for TF2 characters (seen classes so far, maybe he'll do NPCs afterwards), and I just finished this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCORCzaQcGE
At some point in the video, he talks about the small strip of backstory for Archimedes in the cosmetic item's description:
Before Archimedes came into the Medic's care, he made his living through wedding dovery. A lucrative trade, but he always felt something was missing. He looks back on the day that the Medic stole that catering van during the prime minister's wedding as the best day of his life. He's been burrowing into the chests of unwitting patients ever since.
And while we all know this is just a one-off joke, someone in the comment section decided to look into it and ended up with results. Likely just coincidental, but it was fun to see something like this among the video responses.

Maybe there are other potential candidates, just a matter of research.
Finally after eight years I finally have the entirety of spies "invisible Mann" set without buying a single piece! Happy Halloween to me.
somebody really ought to tell valve the tank has a memory leak
I just played a bunch of the new halloween maps on Nathan Vetterlein's server. The PD map Monster Bash is kind of an unending shitshow, but it's not horrible. Bagel Event is a really nice KOTH map and probably my favorite of the bunch.. Slasher has the problem that so many community event maps do: too many bosses/spells/pumpkins/crumpkins AND an underworld. It's just an absolute goatfuck to play on it. It's a shame as the map itself is quite nice looking and might even be enjoyable in the shitshow got toned down about six notches. Also, the "engies can build sentries during truce time" is 100% ass. I think PvP should still be enabled on some maps when the boss is out. On Ghost Fort it's one thing, but on a nightmare map like Slasher it's entirely another.
Also, I played Heavy for most of the time and had a blast. Giant Man is so close to being balanced, it's painful. I'm as biased on this as Sean Hannity after snorting three rails of meth off a copy of Atlas Shrugged that's balanced precariously on Ann Coulter's ass, but Heavy REALLY needs a buff. The L&W accuracy/damage ramp up nerf has no place at all in 2018 TF2.
Seriously, this event is super fun. I agree witht he above comments on the new maps - 7 minute cap times with anywhere from 2 to 4 bosses spawning throughout the round is just hell, especially since the underworld is freely available to go into, so everybody smart almost always has crits and uber. Still loads of fun, just like every other map.
What I'd really love to see instead of the predictable wave of bugs per annual update is Jill or any other employee for that matter saying, "Knowing that the Source engine can barely handle TF2 anymore, we have begun work on porting TF2 to Source 2. Rejoice!"
Instead we're left to twiddle our thumbs and watch the game we love to pour endless amounts of hours into actively prevent us from doing just that.
The simplest of bugs become the worst of nightmares for people that put 6+ hours into Team Fortress 2 on a near daily.
When an update inevitably breaks shit and it does nothing more than add cosmetics instead of fixing previous issues I'm gonna be mad all I want. Its clear the developers know TF2 can't handle itself anymore, but why would that then justify shoveling more shit into it?
Just give me a "neato 2"...
Anyone else having contracker bugs?

Hard to say how, but random bonuses have been filled in despite me not even visiting these maps.
Just port Team Fortress 2 entirely to Source 2 ala HL:S style haha.
You cool with no updates for a year and/or more?

Buy my keys.
Off-topic but Geel reminds me of Michael Cera .
Isn't that what's already happening?
Cauldron > Monster Bash > Slasher > Gravestone > Cursed Cove
All of them are really nice though, I'm always stunned by the themeing and ingenuity of community made event maps (Monster Bash and Slasher especially)
i think monster bash is perhaps my super ultra favorite map that we've had in a quite a while. It's very unique to so many halloween maps, and it's very refreshing to play a gamemode that is played less frequent, and without the re-hashed spells and other map monsters being spammed everywhere breaking the immersion. i love it, wish it had some super unique monster at the end but other than that, super love it; how can you not with such high quality original themes in the map such as stuff like this:

At this point, the "content filled" updates just harm the experience for me. The game gets less stable and bugs get introduced that are left alone for weeks at a time and others left untouched for a year or more!
The only reason Team Fortress 2 isn't experiencing what DayZ and now PUBG did, is that the base game is simply irresistible. Yes, even without the hats and silly event modes!
Ragdolls, maps, class variety.. And most importantly the high skill ceiling. Even after 9k hours I'm still learning new ways to frag and witnessing deaths I never though possible. If I've been forced to wait as long as I have to hear the news about Half Life, I'm sure I can handle a similar period of time in which they don't break the game. I'd just prefer that this time around they share with us their intentions from the start!
I want proper balance changes, bug fixing, and if they have time left over I wouldn't mind more cosmetics.
This game would've died long ago if the hats were what kept the game populated.
I wonder how much this hat will go for

I found that Contracts start off empty till you enter the map and activate the contract in it. Then they fill up to what ( I presumed ) I had accomplished last year since all the bonuses were automatically filling up. Last year I had nearly 100% all contracts including bonuses with the exception of one pumpkin bomb contract.
The problem is, you don't get credit for them doing it this way, so the stars remain empty even afterwards.
Not sure if it's intentional, but I honestly am happy I don't have to do most of the pumpkin bomb bonuses to complete it this year as those were stupidly annoying to do last year lol.
If they're as common as the starstom effects and the other effects frmo that year, then probably $50-$60. If they're truly rare, I could see it easily going for two hundred or so, the effect is noticeable, distinct, and the hat is a cute gimmick hat, but it may be a bit too gimmicked for a general audience.
From the looks of it, Omniscient Orb is a unique effect compared to the rest of the new effects, as it doesn't have any recolors. Also no one is selling The Tank Top on the market with that effect
meanwhile pyro is still a mangled mess to play
you could bitch at the old flames all you want but they were far better to use when you didn't have to worry about surfaces gimping your dmg or piss-short afterburn.
Not to mention it's frustrating seeing newbie pyros dishing out identical effectiveness as the ones that actually invest into learning the game.
thanks for nothing ji
While I agree that having your damage reduced because one spec of particle collide with a map surface. I think I still find it more infurrating how it was before where you can have the flames go through the people and not register as hits. I guess you can say it feels better to at least feel like there's some consistency with hit registration over damage consistancy I guess due to it being easier to miss or not notice?
I really do hope they fix the damage output so Pyro can deal normal damage regularly though.
i feel the pyro flames are ok but we need to fix that busted up fucking airblast
oh and just remove the scorch shot pls
