not to sound like a downer or anything, but... why exactly were people expecting an update yesterday? they've literally never done anything for the birthdays in recent years except enable birthday mode. if they didn't bother with anything for their 10th anniversary (usually a milestone), why would the 11th be any different?

FFS. I had a start when TF2 subforum 404'd. I really l hope we don't move to Discord. It's fine for real time chatting, but I find the platform to be really a really lousy forum for even remotely serious discussion. How would Discord handle a megathread?

Only way i see IF garry really does pull the plug would be for someone to make a website for tf2 and invite all the fp members to it,it would be like the tf2 sub forum except that its a whole site so we might be able to be more flexible with some things,although it would be best to not go through all that and stay in facepunch. Even if hezzy was going to be our new overlord

Anywho what do we even cover? we have yet to get anysort of hints or details to an update

a few weeks back I ran out of rockets in front of a guy and I had gunboats on, so I involuntarily brought out my market gardener and started crouchjumping towards him spamming melee, he shot a rocket at me, I jumped over it, the blast propelled me towards him and I critted him

its almost as if vbulletin was 15 year old garbage with a hundred vulerabilities

Playing Scout and Soldier on TF2 on Xbox 360 on 2Fort And then the next day (second day of having my copy of Orange Box) playing Heavy on Dustbowl, having a blast, and then knocking my 360 over like a nonce and ruining my disc (just like what happened with my Halo Reach disc)

I haven't posted in this thread for such a long time. Curiosity piqued when I saw it on the games forum tho. How's the state of TF2 now? I see that there's still a bunch of people playing it.

Don't know when the last time you played was, but TF2 changed a lot. Mostly to the better in my opinion but you know how it is. Updates have slowed down quite a bit with the dev team seemingly wanting to do 1 mega super omega update every year or so. We haven't reach "dead" as far as support goes so far, though and most are expecting the Heavy Update roughly this year, if itll happen who knows.

I remember my first community server I visited after long days of playing with bots on Training course. It was MVM server (I joined TF2 week after Mann vs. Machine Update) and I played as Scout.

Sounds like good fun. I might re-install and trying playing again then, but I feel like I'll be mega rusty. Last time I played and typed in this thread was when the first Killing Floor was still flavor-of-the month (TF2GC Killing Floor sessions anyone?). And it doesn't really surprise me that Pyro is still a big question mark in terms of balance. Sandman not stunning sounds like a huge nerf though.

I have this adorable video I uploaded to youtube a hair over 6 years ago of the first time I played against normal bots. Before TF2 my only FPS experience was on xbox 360 (including the orange box) so TF2 was my first PC FPS experience; I was so crap initially that I felt it worthy of recording my first time playing against normal difficulty bots instead of easy bots. My PC at the time was some piece of garbage used office PC from like 2004, so adding on the strain of running bots locally meant I was running at ~8FPS. Stuff was simpler before I understood the depth and complexity of this game

mine is downloading a pirate version of tf2 and playing hydro offline just to check every class's taunts. that and DM_Mario Kart.

With the news about FP dieing, I just want to say if it does end up kicking the bucket, I'm gonna really miss all you blokes. Joined this place solely for the TF2 forum when I was a HS freshman back in 2012, and this place really shaped my personality for the better. It's been an absolutely wild ride, whether it was the MVM arg, the smissmas nightmare incident, or the pain of waiting for JI. Everyone who's posted here has been awesome, even the guys who aren't here anymore. So, thanks for the 6 years guys.

yeah don't take Garry's post that seriusly, its not like its the first time he did that. besides, if you ever managed to bond with anyone here chances are you already use other ways to share with them.

Looking at a wall in 2fort, then getting shot in the head while a bunch of people were arguing about the engineer. The strange thing is, I could have sworn that the lighting was different and that there were god rays into specific places.
