TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station V12 - Miniguns are SCARY - look it up

well to speak from the perspective of my friends that sold their tf2 inventories
8/10 end up returning to the game eventually and start regretting it
I've sold my tf2 inventory numerous times. The most important thing is: have a friend or enough ref to buy vital weapons: ubersaw, krits, gunboats, etc. Cosmetics are nice yeah, but having weapons that provide an additional playstyle are better.
No problem you're welcome
The amount of people realizing for the first time that Marketplace is actually a good website is fun
Also a great ref sink!
This is a really good example and puts my poorly written, gut-feelin' claims to shame. Interestingly enough Counter-Strike was the first game to leave a really good impression on me when it came to reliably consistent game play. Despite the simplicity of the sound technology when it released, footsteps and the squeaky doors were what I remember having been done really well. I can't even distinguish footsteps let alone hear the hundreds of free-to-play spies de-cloak up against my back these days. Feels like the Saharan Spy is back.
Unfortunately MatchMaking with friends that are geographically living far away still takes forever to find a match, if at all. Been sitting in a queue with a friend from Europe (I'm from Australia) for a good hour or so now and while the graphs showing people playing maps fluctuate, we're still in a queue. We've also tried joining eachother through the party system while one is ingame already, same result.
Really makes me wish Ad-Hoc connections were still a thing. I don't care too much about ping as long as I'm playing a game with friends.
Did you make sure to set the ping settings under matchmaking settings to incredibly high?
If you aren't complaining about the update when you post about, then what are you doing? Just whining because you feel like it?
Just got an announcement that the item and matchmaking servers will be down for about 5 minutes.
random crit bind spammers sure have a field day with pumpkin crits.
let's just ignore that those are randoms because who needs facts and logic in this day and age
Whenever someone spams the "fair and balanced" bind I just say "they are, bitch" in lowercase. The responses are pretty great, and vary from knowing laughter to huge, Reddit-level diatribes about how I'm Objectively Wrong and Valve Confirmed It and all this shit. Pretty funny.
technically not
technically yes
they drop from killed players and stick around for a while and anyone can pick them up
but they do so randomly
and more often than not, they do that whole 'rich get richer' thing that random crits also do
I'm genuinely worried about the bullshit-tier levels of lag that the game is giving me.
I never realized how reliant I was on outpost for chasing down the unusual weapons I wanted. Between that and the premium search on bp.tf being dead, it's hard af to collect specific effects.
I never realized how much I hated the truce on lakeside and how it invalidates the whole map because you constantly get cockblocked from playing tf2
As hated as it is I think it's necessary on the map because of how people want to actually kill Merasmus while some people will grief others.
then again, it was added because people never got to kill merasmus because they rather kill each other. wich is why you get merasmus's spawn rate to block the game every ten seconds - it actually took a couple of individuals trying not to kill each other to achieve the effect.
now the whole boss's mechanic is broken wich is why you get big crit candies that do absolutely nothing each time you break one of his hidding spots and engies that will build nest on the platforms on top of of the control point
fake valve employee and army of bots? when did that happen?
I honestly really like how Pumpkin Bombs affect your usual game on Halloween maps. Makes me way more cognizant of my placement (as well as that of whomever I'm shooting at).

damn the latest tf2 update really upped the game's graphics
you can tell its tf2 because of the lime green paint.
Saved a friendly Sniper from an enemy sniper headshot
"Hey mate, good thing I was there"
"Yeah thanks"
Then he's dies against a second sniper
We both laugh.
That was a good round
The sound system in cs 1.6, wasn't realistic, but it really conveyed where noise happened from and you could really work with it with the wallbangs. TF2 is so loud sometimes, the onboard sound can't handle me holding down fire as heavy, but that might have something to do with capping fps at 600.
Ran into another hacker on red who was spamming votes against other people so he couldn't get kicked and stood still sniping the spawn room of blue team. Like some kind of miracle the whole blue team just stayed in spawn and the red team stopped collecting skulls, and he finally got kicked somehow, I couldn't even see the vote pop up for some reason (are initiated vote kicks also only voteable by teammates?).
I think playing the game after 10pm is the way to go for me, the quality of the matches is better, the players are more skilled, and the amount of slurs and binds in the chat is tolerable. It's tough to do though because I have to work the next morning so I can't play all night like I used to when I was in high school.
Jesus, I've been playing this game on and off since Halloween 2009 I think. It's still fun even with all the weird cosmetics and chicanery.
So I was thinking, what if the game broadcasted actions that influence other weapons in the killfeed?
Such as, maybe an "electricity"-esque outline around backstabs/sapped buildings if the Spy has a Diamondback equipped. Or the same for Sentry Kills if the Engineer is using the Frontier Justice. That way people have a very clear indicator that this person is using a weapon that gets a bonus from the action that just occurred in the killfeed.
I was just thinking about a way to "fix" weapons that are kinda dumb to play against, like the Diamondback. It feels really unfun to try to shoot at a Spy only to be basically one-shot because he happens to have sapped the only-been-playing-for-eight-minutes Engineer's sentry sixteen times and there was no prior indication he had a critboost because he was disguised.
or you could just change streak and crit charge items to not act the way they do.
Yup, we both have our "Ping Limit" set to the max it can go, 349. I don't understand why you can't set it as high as you want to cover all the regional servers.
Well, other people might not want to play with people who have 400 ping in their game
So I noticed a bug that causes the Donk kills of Loose Cannon to be counted as killing a scared enemy for the Harvest contract, can anyone else confirm?
my friend got us all the bonus points for that using the natascha, it's much easier to just do that instead
