Earliest tf2 memory? Hmm. My first weapon drop! I had no idea what quickplay was so i joined a random server that was a odd flooded map with the crates from turbine scattered about. anyway, the weapon was a machina and was so excited to use it as it was like "Wow laser gun!".
was it koth_flood? We should just get Geel to buy facepunch from Garry. or at least the tf2 section.
My earliest TF2 memory was probably discovering how to taunt and upgrade buildings while playing on 2Fort. On the PS3.
I still remember the first time I played the game. It was December of 2007 at a LAN party run by a friend. I played Solider on CP_Well. No one on my team had ever played TF2 before and everyone on the other team had so we got destroyed. My computer's videocard drivers were out of date so the reflections on the floor and water had a purple tint. Needless to say that first play session didn't make me a fan.
Nah way way earlier, like 2013. It had a tree n it was outside.
I remember wanting to jump into the game to get used to some of the changes in the game from TFC. The most notible being Medic and Scout, who I felt were the biggest changes of the nine classes. That, and people not understanding how to deal with sentries back then and just walk right into their line of fire lol...
So is the Outpost gone for good? Nobody purchased it?
I was on a US Hightower server pushing the cart with other bunch of teammates all playing as Heavy while mowing down endless hordes of soldiers and scouts though i hid behind the cart and didnt do anything because i sucked Most of the teammates had mic on and it was the most weirdest and exciting stuff ive seen playing a video game at the time
I remember doing arena_sawmill as Scout a lot when I picked up the game in 2011
am I the only one not enjoying being surrounded by all this other threads? I really just come to facepunch to talk about TF2, and seeing a bunch of other threads just feels really cluttered to me...of course, I know other people are using and enjoying those threads, but I don't like having to look for mine, you know?
As far as first TF2 memory goes, I actually remember how I got into the game. I was like 12? 11? years old and was ill so I couldn't go to school and to kill some time I downloaded free to play games, TF2 being one of them - first class played was medic on pl_hoodoo, the stage with the truck in the spawn room - a heavy offered me a high five and I remembered the super big "high five him lad" notificiation. I also remember some old TF2 youtubers - mostly german ones, Zombey and "buttercake", any other germs still know those?
I was playing tf2 for the very first time in 2011(around when the uber update came out), I was on a achievement idle map with a circular inside design and it had multiple teleports on the right side that led to a disco, pool, etc. one song I vaguely remember in the disco was called rocket jump electro
My earliest TF2 memory would be my first match I played. If I remember correctly this was in Feburary, 2012. I was a spy on the blue team playing on cp_granary.
Earliest TF2 memory? First match 2008. Can't see shit cause my graphics card couldn't run everything properly, so I just had geometry and models all melting to a single point in front of my face. Also only the map textures worked.
Don't think it was the first match I played but the earliest of my play time I remember was playing Red scout on arena_well. I think I there was a free weekend on at the time, since it was back in May 2009 when TF2 still cost money and I bought the Orange Box a few days later along with Left 4 Dead. That was a brilliant year for me in gaming. One of the best i've had.
He deleted all his tweets. Something is up, and what's happening currently is definitepy not normal.
Am i following the right garry newman? th only tweets i've seen by him in the past month or so have been him fiddling around with engines (until those were deleted as well) I'm not saying this "thinkin bout deleting facepunch" tweet didn't happen, it definitely did, but I saw nothing about it on my twitter feed. Though,t o be fair, twitter feeds are shite and very rarely contain every tweet.
if tf2 and facepunch die I will become a vegetable
But the TF team said that the game isn't dying, when the Saxxy winners arrived at Valve this year.
Im talking about the theoretical situation guess well have to move to Discord and wait till someone makes a substitute facepunch similar to what happened with SLAG Gaming and Red Sun over Paradise.
So I'm just generally curious on what people's opinions would be on having new TF2 workshop submissions posted here. Would you be fine on this or should the just be kept on the emporium? Reason I ask is things aren't like how they used to be back in my day, and you can go a few days without a post on the emporium thread now. Plus a lot of the wip discussion stuff is on the discord now.
Atleast we will something to talk about.
I mean i got a semi idiot idea, we could always email the team asking them what's going on
If they aren't being spammed each and every pentosecond (which I doubt given you said its quiter than usual) I'd give it my blessing, I post my maps here too so who cares Just expect shit-tier feedback by cosmetic-snobs
You can't really beat the workshop commenters for shit-tier feedback.
The tf team has never answered an email that wasn’t an already known bug report, or promotional support request in the history of the mailtool. God knows how many emails have been sent to them by players frustrated with the abandonment of their game. Yet they continue to ignore them in silence and collect market taxes and key sales.
Engie's voice line "you're a long way from France, boy" got me thinking, how far is each map from France? I used Google maps and found out. https://pastebin.com/f7mttvmE Highlights: The map farthest from France is Snowycoast at 8,750 miles, the closest is Rottenburg, at 310 miles. 37 of the 77 maps are set in New Mexico, 48%. Two maps are set in southeast Asia, Borneo and Lazarus Banana Bay looks to be set in Ecuador since Ecuador is known for bananas and there are several islands set in a bay in Ecuador
it's the best place for getting either absolutely nothing or phrases like this https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/57886/22a0fa14-8c87-4565-af2b-a154e1080631/image.png Nobody tell him to look at Barnblitz's lighting
I mean its worth a shot. it beats sitting here n wondering why we havent had anything happen yet.
