actually I'm thinking it'll just be a nostalgia trip that Spirits mode, going through all the smash bosses n stuff.

these meme posts based on brands exists because someone somewhere knows that someone will post that on a forum and force others to watch it.
My only hope is that i see the return of Break the Targets and Board the Platforms at it's full glory.
The Direct begins as SOON as school begins over here, hopefully they'll begin with a trailer as they did in the previous Smash direct.

Also putting this out before the Direct; if we don't get Banjo-Kazooie and Geno then I'm gonna be upset as all hell. You're telling me Sakurai's willing to
negotiate with Konami to get Snake back AND bring in the Belmonts and Bomberman
negotiate with Square Enix to get Cloud in despite the insane nonsense surrounding the FF7 music
add Ridley and K. Rool because he listened to fan-demands from as far back as Brawl
then decide it's not worth going for Banjo-Kazooie despite promoting a less-Nintendo related character and series with Snake in Brawl (where he had MGS4's Love Theme and Gekkos for god's sake) despite both characters having higher-ups supporting their inclusion (Kojima and Spencer respectively)
and decide that asking Square for one more thing isn't worth it despite going to Konami for Snake and coming back with Castlevania, and that Yoko Shimomura already regularly contributes tracks and isn't a tyrant over her own music being licensed out
I don't think things like "but they're rival companies!!!" really factor in compared to the possibility of working with more famous game characters and making people happy. Sakurai thought working with Little Mac was exciting for God's sake and he's probably the only Japanese person who knows who that is.
Every minute of the Direct that isn't announcing the character I want is going to be panic mode for me.

I think the end of the direct is going to be a teaser for a new "story/adventure" mode so you stay tuned to Nintendo Treehouse for them to show more. My believe is they're going to reveal all fighters and talk a bit in-depth about them aside from Echoes.
Most of the direct will be Sakurai pointing at a picture of the Grinch saying "i hate this man, ooh how i despise him"
People seem to be getting a bit enthusiastic about posting the leak stuff in the open with no spoiler tags so I'm going dark until after the direct. See you all on the other side. Hope everybody gets what they want out of it!

We are, postal was the reason that he had this rule to begin with. It's on us to report it.
So, assuming Shadow and Ken are revealed similarly to Chrom, Daisy, and Dark Samus, in that they don't really get a cinematic trailer, which character do we think they're gonna reveal LAST?
Cause I'd wager that, if this leak is true, they're blowing their whole load on Thursday; launch is a month away and you want that hype to reach a fever-pitch throughout all of November. People were still discussing Isabelle into October, it wouldn't make a lot of sense to reveal almost everything over 40 minutes and then release a little 2 minute trailer right before the whole thing drops (unless they just wanted to save a character or two for a cherry on top).
If you were Sakurai, which character would you save as the absolute last reveal before Ultimate comes out? Personally, my money's on Banjo or Geno. Banjo is easily the bigger get, but Geno would feel more poetic, especially if Sakurai is gonna retire from Smash after this one.

If the leak is true, I'd wager the final reveal is Mach Rider since the retro rep usually gets the curtain call.
Banjo will leave a bigger inpact than Geno, that is if they're not saving him for a different even reveal like the Microsoft one they're going to have next week, if I recall.
Most likely scenario, IMO :
Isaac is revealed first, either tonight or as the lead-in to the Direct.
They show off Venus Lighthouse and the Golden Sun item after welcoming you to watching.
Mach Rider is shown to sweeten the deal and show that this Direct means business.
Depict some more Battlefield versions of stages and normal stages. Ryu is shown on Suzaku Castle, then Ken drops out of the sky and gets splash art while they mention his presence.
Chorus Kids are shown.
Stage is shown and a rhythm gimmick (not tied to music) is mentioned. Their playstyle is explained for a bit, more than any other character, to get you enticed.
Geno is shown.
Show off Single-Player Content returning, such as (hopefully) Break the Targets, after depicting any SMRPG-related stage or music.
Shadow is shown next-to-last as a cherry-on-top. Semi-clone with different specials and moderately different aerials, but most of the same ground attacks with maybe a new sliding dash attack and throws.
Differences
Go into detail about Spirits Mode.
Banjo-Kazooie is saved for last as a big finale.
Then it shows the mural with them all on it before a final montage.
More or less what I expect to happen.

Watch as the "Spirit" mode is just Smash Tours 2.0 and Sakurai spends 40 minutes talking about it.

I'm keeping my expectations for Spirits very low, I'm expecting something like boss battles or something without significant dedicated original content rather than a full on adventure mode or Subspace 2.0.
I don't know if this means anything but I was re-watching through the august direct and noticed there is a Mach Rider track in the Other list when he talks about the music (it's underneath Stack-up/Gyromite)

Wasn't Melee the last time we got any Mach Rider music in a Smash game and weren't they planned to be playable in it at some point? If so this track here could have been a hint the whole time. Or maybe I'm just looking into this too much.
I've only played Smash 3DS and it's not in that one, don't know if it was in any more other that Melee.
