This is going down hill fast.
This looks about as much of a gimmick as custom fighters were in Smash 4
what even is this? this is just event matches with level ups, why is this taking so much time

Event Mode is pretty big for me, I loved mission mode in melee and this looks like a huge amount

I can't believe how much of a load their blew at the very start. All this waiting and it feels for nothing.
Nobody cared about stickers in Brawl, and customization in 4 was a chore; everybody loved trophies instead. Sakurai nails the gameplay, but keeps missing the mark in single player and collectibles...
This is legitimately worse than my lowest expectations
Even if I weren't disappointed with the final newcomers, the fact that they blew their load right out of the gate and there won't be a 'Before we go' newcomer is just sad

This is an absolute nightmare. We open by killing the hype, then spend thirty minutes strangling it to death with a mode that looks like absolute goddamn trash and spits in your face by wasting development time and removing trophies.

Chose custom matchmaking settings, but settings get selected randomly from matched players. THAT'S NOT HOW MATCMAKING WORKS. Never change, nintendo.
To be fair, that probably isn't wrong. I expected a game with this much content to drop trophies for that reason in favor of focusing on characters and stages.
