I didn't really expect much from this Direct and I'm still disappointed
But oh well, I'm still just thankful Snake is back, that's worth like 10 newcomers for me
Shadow has been an assist trophy since Brawl.
Pretty sure Piranha Plant won't count towards the actual DLC pack
I wouldn't say nothing. It was disappointing to watch but now looking back, it had some redeeming parts:
Ken is in. No surprise but nice.
Spirits is the closest thing we get to an adventure mode, with an overworld and bosses
Piranha Plant is a new character
Sucks that it's DLC but at least we get more characters, looking at another Pokemon taking a spot
Online mode with stock
They could have cut it down by 20 minutes. But Piranha Plant and the overworld did partially redeem a really bad direct (at least for me)
We were all bamboozled.
Still satisfied with the roster regardless.
I was under the impression that he's separate, and not one of the five they're working on.
I can't recall ever being disappointed in a Nintendo presentation since E3 2015. You know, the one where they shat on a bunch of classic nintendo franchises, all but admitted they had already killed the Wii U, and then proceeded to rub salt in the wounds by ending with fucking Mario. And not even a game announcement. Just fucking Mario, as if they expected us to applaud them until the end of time just because they invented Super Mario Bros. back in the 80s.
(Seriously, I will bet money that playable Pirahna plant was a Nintendo higher-up idea, not Sakurai's.)

don't announce you're doing a direct that's a full 10 minutes longer than the one that had 5 characters in it and then spend 5 minutes explaining what a season pass is lol. simple concept

The Pihrana Plant is the worst part for me on so many levels, because they showed that they have a massive lineup of characters that they could chosen from, nobody was holding a gun to their head saying "make the pihrana plant playable instead of these characters people want!", any single one of the assist trophies would have made a better pick for it. Dozens, hundreds of characters were passed over because Sakurai thought it'd be funny if you could play as a Pihrana Plant. Months of development just for that.
I cannot fucking believe that I'm at the point where I can say that it is an actual legitimate total waste of a character slot. Something I always went on about how that wasn't a thing and didn't matter and we have an actual example before my eyes. Rev up my fucking melodrama because that is hands down the worst part of every shitty thing in that Direct.
Yea they really should've spread these reveals out better. K Rool as the bookend would've smoothed things over a lot more, certainly more than the fuckin Piranha plant did lmao. Like don't get me wrong that was funny as fuck, but destined to stir up a shitstorm as the final reveal, sneak peek or not.
also yep the new story mode is basically what i was expecting. event matches with an overworld map. Not that I'm complaining since yeah people were kidding themselves expecting subspace 2. The MP is always the focus at the end of the day and damn they've done well on that front.
also 5 DLC characters, that's great. I mean i guess the plant counts as one now lol but hopefully the remaining 4 will be some hype shit like Banjo Kazooie. Isaac's deconfirm was a surprise, tho. RIP
That’s actually why I like him. He’s totally out there and silly as a character. I’m actually glad he didn’t go with a typical hero/villain character, and instead we got something weird.
I just find it hilarious that someone had the time and effort to make the grinch leak look so genuine and elaborate. Like, I'm not even angry or disappointed at that, I'm impressed.

I'm pretty disappointed with the final direct. I am happy to see my boi Ken in, as well as Incineroar in the game too, but that's cause of the wrestling moves he has. I know that people dislike him in the game cause more Pokemon and despite me wanting him to be Zangief instead I think he's alright. I'll probably warm up to him later like others will. As for the rest of the direct most of it was a disappointment. Especially when the fucking Piranha Plant was announced.

I feel bad for people who wanted Isaac, they really shot that dream down and throwing in Piranha Plant is just mean and cruel to them.

no the plant isn't one of the 5, it's a separate freebie. you can tell because it doesn't come with a stage
Nah, the Plant is free for early purchases; it was in development for the main game but wasn't finished for release. The DLC is made up of 5 other characters.
