Think it's been confirmed there wont be a character reset iirc.
Seems a bit haphazard to play a BETA character all the way into main game anyway, some bugs could have effects that carry over.
Besides I've already got my hands full with RDR 2 and can't really dedicate much time to the game right now. It seems like it'll be really fun when it comes out since I won't have many other things to play at that point.

I think if you're the only player in a certain area the NPCs scale to you, all the way there I was only encountering Level 1s and 5s, even the rarer monsters were only level 10. Though I did run into a scorch beast which was 50. Unless this is meant to be one of the first areas you go to.
It runs really great, even better than Fallout 4

On the plus side, we do get to see how the nuclear war effected people in ways other than just being turned to ghouls. The mole miners, wendigos, Grafton monster etc.
Hopefully Bethesda will carry over doing these interesting designs into the next mainline game.

Can someone explain to me the perk cards system and how it works in 76? I get no indicator on where to go to level up my SPECIAL and it hasn't really given me and option. I'm level 5 currently.
Press T in the Pip Boy menu, just like in Fo4. I'm not really sure how it works either. Sometimes you'll get to choose from one SPECIAL category to get a perk card from. Sometimes you'll get a booster pack of perk cards.
Either way, you just choose which perk card goes to which SPECIAL attribute. I think it's only one per SPECIAL. I'm not sure. To 'level' the perk cards up, you have to get two of the same card and combine them.
That's all I've figured out so far.

Been thinking lately about the melee weapons of FO4 (because Ive been playing it the most, but this applies to all the current modern FO)
Why are there such a lackluster amount of true scavenged and improvised weapons?
Clubs made from tree branches? we had a "branch" weapon in Fo3 where did it go?
Shovels, street signs, so much stuff is missing for no good reason.
Golf clubs, shivs. Etc
Fucking kitchen knives are gone, Straight razors too
But anyway, what about super simple weapons?
Why don't the scavengers of a two hundred years post-apocalypse just heat up a scrap piece of metal and bash it into the shape of a sword?
Literally like how the legion does it?

Well that was a lot better than the first run I had. Looted the space station, did a few 'event quests' (Very grindy and unfun on your own), strayed all the way north to the Palace of the Winding Path - nice place. go check it out. Just don't bring your FPS with you. It'll get murdered.
I also encountered my first classic beth quest bug out, as a quest object I was supposed to interact with just didn't work.
So far my thoughts are just about the same as they were from last time, but more positive. This map, the setting, it's all awesome to explore. A little silly with the lore at times, but the immense variety of locations and enemies - it's an absolute treat to wander around. But everything that's fun is slightly held back by the online features imo. I've only played about an hour with a friend of this, and yeah, the experience was considerably improved, but anything is fun with friends, etc.
Found a nice little cliff face to set up a cozy lil camp in just before I logged off, too. Hope everyone had fun during that BETA run.
Point Pleasant is anything but.

I found a reference to Alien in one of the hospitals. A Jangles the Moon Monkey with an alien toy on its face.
Also the storage limit on camps is way too low.

so I got a good 5-6 hours of gameplay tonight, and I really like the game. It's a pretty fucking fun survival exploration game, especially in multiplayer. What little of the plot I've explored seems genuinely intriguing and spooky, even if I can kind of tell what the likely plot line is - at least it's not giving you the illusion of having power to change it, the power is instead in how you choose to play the game and interact with other players, so you can't really 'cheat' it. However, I'd definitely say it's far more like an MMO than it is like Fallout 1 and 2, some very dark holotapes aside.
Overall, I rate it 10/10 Best Mothman Experience In A Video Game 2018.
(Oh, and also, it's glitchy as hell, especially regarding latency. Ghouls are annoying enough with their sprinting before you include the potential of lagspikes making them fucking teleport 20ft into your face.)

Turns out it lets you get into some pretty good spots, jump on top of buildings to avoid enemies, etc. So while exploring I jumped on top of this big Villa and found a safe up here. As far as I can tell the only way to get up here is with a jump height mutation, so they put it up here for players who managed to get it and were jumping around exploring.
Didn't get anything good from it but it makes me wonder how many places you can look to find hidden stashes like this.
can you change the pipboy color in 76?
There are alternate colours in the atom store. In the beta ther's just the one, it's a light blue. It costs like 300 atoms, which I had before I opened the atom store, but I didn't buy it.
