If anything, I'm more upset that the Stage Creator didn't make it back in. Although, I can kinda see why since the touch screen isn't heavily utilized on the Switch, and they probably didn't have the time/money to figure out how to make an alternative stage creator.

Not necessarily. Most low tiers in 4 were fine for this stuff, but lacked actual KO power to finish their opponent off. Duck Hunt and G&W are good examples of nonexistent or inconsistent kill moves despite good utility. Increase their damage, and they get more opportunities to actually get KOs without having to use these unreliable moves, which is an outright buff.

trophies getting replaced with glorified stickers is probably the most upsetting thing for me honestly it also seems like the singleplayer content is a bit lackluster. we just get adventure mode and that its? did i miss something?
I'll be honest here, TOs will probably not be assed to do that. They didn't do it with equipment. And if they do, it will result in a clusterfuck of "what is the proper balance values for x character?"
It's still better than Smash 4.
Honestly, when Piranha Plant was announced I was kinda mad, but now I realize that it has the potential to be one of the most unique fighters in Smash. So, now I ain't even mad.
i liked smash run a lot though. fighting subspace enemies has always been extremely fun. outside bosses though, it looks like we won't even be fighting subspace enemies, which is another big thing that upsets.
I doubt the discussion on custom balance will last anyway. How do you decide/police people putting a handicap on/off?
It would make more moves strong enough to KO, thus adding KO moves where there were none before Imagine G&W being able to kill with the turtle at a reasonable percent. That would change a lot about how you set up to play him, setting up for horizontal gimp kills instead of a lucky torch or 9

Handicap has been there since Melee you know...
I think people are afraid we might not have Break the Targets, Event Matches (Spirits covers it, essentially), Board the Platforms (understandable why it wouldn't be), Stage Builder or Smash Run though since they haven't mentioned them at all, and is a concern of mine, too. If it is just Classic + Spirits + glorified Multi-Man Melee posing as All-Star, then it's actually more barebones than Smash 4 Wii U's single-player content.
I was hoping to see if we could sort characters by franchise, as in the website...
Is the Fighter pass up on the eshop?
It seems only as a bundle with the game or as the individual packs.
Pretty excited for the game overall, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit bummed that smash run isn't coming to the game. Also break the targets :<
Do we truly know if the stage builder is dead yet? The website mentions "other gamemodes"
This is different, handicap was a setting exclusive to the player for any given match. This setting affects separate characters and can presumably be saved to your system.

I wouldn't be surprised if Stage Builder got canned because Nintendo was hyper paranoid about piracy like they're being with the Switch as a whole

That didn't stop them from adding it to Sm4sh.
Yall wanna know today's greatest tragedy?
