I like Piranha Plant being in, I enjoy a joke character and he looks pretty fun. I can't imagine the amount of salt he created but I won't rub it in. I'm not really disappointed with the roster, I enjoy all of them, I'm just disappointed with the order. We started strong with contenders people always wanted, then characters we never expected to get in, and then characters we knew were gonna be in since the initial announcement of the game. I would feel more excited for Incineroar if it he wasn't the last character announced. The big thing that bothers me the most is that people are taking their frustrations out on Sakurai and his team, and not the leakers. I'm not saying they should take it out on the leakers, but it wasn't Sakurai who created the leak, these people got extremely hyped up on something they know isn't going to be 100% confirmed, using their hype as the only reason to believe it, and get immensely disappointed with it turns out the leak was fake, and instead blame Sakurai for not making the leak true. The guys been working really hard to bring the best smash game yet and he's gonna get bashed because someone wanted their 15 minutes of internet fame.

So who doxxed Eric Bricard and threw an entire printing company under the bus while making the most convincing fake leak in Smash history?

The only thing I find anger-inducing personally is that they're locking a character (albeit one that apparently isn't finished) behind a pre-order wall, and they're charging nearly half the cost of a full-priced game for just 5 new characters that quite frankly should be free either way. The other stuff at worst I'm mostly indifferent towards, but this is yet another example of the unfortunate trend of sour business models effecting fighting games.

I want Piranha Plant to be high tier, it would be amazing.

On one hand, I love how the piranha plant is one of the most out-of-left-field characters they could have done, but in the same respect its also one of the least wanted. I doubt it even made top 100 on the smash ballot. Yeah its free, so no real reason to complain... but come on, development could have been done to almost any other character and it would get people more excited. Ahh well. I saw no sign of skullkid, so maybe they're planning him as DLC.

Even though the Direct was a bit anti-climatic, I'm still hyped as that doesn't negate we're getting a Smash game with Ridley, Simon Belmont, King K. Rool, etc. The only disappointments I actually have are the lack of "For Fun"/"For Glory" and the phasing out of Trophies.

I'll take the L with the Direct. Sucks the Grinch was the biggest ruse in Smash History.

I expected absolutely fucking nothing and I am massively disappointed. I thought I was immune to this salt implosion but goddamn, having no trophies and finding out that Sakurai still thinks all the custom trash from Sm4sh was a good idea is infuriating. I was so actively bored during it I didn't notice if they announced an actual Classic mode or not. This is like Sm4sh for the 3DS with all the worst shite from the WiiU Ver 0.4.9. Incineroar and the fucking plant do look baller though, so well done on that.

Piranha Plant is this game's Duck Hunt. I'd say its better than duck hunt was. Just look at how it runs and tell me that isn't the best thing.
