I think of 'World of Light' more as an in-between combination of Melee's Adventure mode and Subspace Emissary.

Important to note that in the final seconds of the trailer we see big red death beams being fired at the master hand fleet and Galeem or whatever its called.
There's going to be a counter attack cutscene somewhere in there.

Salty post here but Rhythm Heaven's Wrestler would've made a cooler fit than Incineroar.
I'm still happy his moveset is pretty fun.
I can't see the wrestler being good at all to be honest.
Chorus Kids/Marshal work because they're basically stick figures so they could work in a paper mario kinda way when it comes to animating them. I'm trying to imagine how they'd animate the wrestler and the answer is they make him a 3D model (which I'm kind of against to be honest) or try to animate him as a 2 sprite which his drawings weren't really made for.
That and he's a pretty plain design in general. I like his minigame a lot and it's one of my favorite songs (well, all the ones he shows up in) but I never really got him.
Incineroar kind of stole the whole "wrestling" spotlight anyway

Holy shit, I just had the realization that - including DLC - the Smash Ultimate roster is 1.4x bigger than the Marvel Vs Capcom 2 roster, which was notoriously huge back in the day (56 characters, also including some clones I believe).
The sad thing about this tweet is. They already know who they want the DLC characters to be. If she was one of them. He would already know and be under an NDA.
The crowd that goes to wherever that is where the Directs are streamed to a bigscreen is always awesome. I think that's the same area from when people fucking lost their minds when Daisy was revealed as an echo fighter.
I'm actually curious about that. Had it been explicitly stated the 5 characters are already decided or are people just assuming? Was there a timeframe/cutoff point? Because I was under the impression DLC wasn't really planned out and or given much focus until recently and they were prioritizing the base game, so who the picks are hadn't been truly decided.
I mean I could just be a hopeless optimist. Maybe there will even be a season 2 for fighters. Who's to say.
Gonna pull a bit of a Sift here by going against the grain and say I don't particularly care for Shantae. I've sampled a few of her games but none of them I found to be particularly excellent, just ok.
Shantae's been around for a while, which is respectful, but I feel like the only reason she's been able to stay relevant is because she's cute.
Season 1 is 99% decided. The alternative to that is "Oh fuck we said we were going to make 5 character packs and we're already selling it for 25 dollars and we don't even know who to include yet oh shit oh man we screwed up", which is about as unSakurai as it gets. The man plans and micromanages like a champ, how else do you get 75 characters and 103 stages and 20 different game modes in a single game?
Banjo is definitely gonna be a DLC character, the question is when.

Sceptile. Only because then we'd have a nice little trifecta of Grass/Fire/Water starter evolutions who don't belong to Gen 1. Plus then we'd have at least one rep for literally every Gen of Pokemon besides Gen 5 (which, at the very least, has its own stage, which is more than can be said for Gens 2, 3, and 7, which all have AMAZING locations that would make fantastic stages).
You could say Pokemon's got enough representation, but it feels weird that Hoenn gets literally nothing aside of 3 of the Pokeball Pokemon.
