Super Smash Bros. General v16: Everyone is STICKERS!

Hey so here comes a new inferno take from Sift brace yourself (I swear I don't want to be *that guy*)
But the more I listen to Ultimates lyrical version the more I kind of don't like it? I love the version that plays on the menu's that got posted a couple weeks back and still jam to it and my initial reaction was "holy shit, lyrics!" but now that I've listened to it through various websites or videos it feels like the lyrical version came after the compisition was done.
This isn't saying the singer is bad (there's one part of the song that sounds weird but it's fine) but the verses all sound like what I'd pick up from a "What if Ultimate had lyrics??" video.
I dunno, I think it's also a bit of audio mixing and the fact the singer also kinda sounds so gentle subdued which I wouldn't expect from a party/fighting game. Just once I got over the shock of actual lyrics it's just ehhh,
Ooh, this is good info. SmashWiki's currently bickering on what's been confirmed or not for WoL. This'll settle some of that.
This really isn't breaking NDA as it isn't a confirmation or anything.
The NDA likely doesn't forbid talking about the character.
Well that's the Brawl theme. I imagine Ultimate's will have a similar arrangement but use Lifelight's melody instead. Like how the Brawl and Smash 4 online lobbies were basically the same thing with each game's theme.

With Ridley being playable the fate of his and Meta-Ridley's boss battles is up in the air, but probably likely no longer in. Despite being a final smash, I wouldn't be surprised if Petey is back as a boss, whether it's still with the cages or the unused animations for him in Smash 4. Porky and Rayquaza would be neat if they were kept in.
After the game comes out, I'm gonna need to read a massive explanation of Smash lore because none of it makes sense to me and I can never tell which elements are supposed to count and which aren't.
I take it we've actually been fighting different Master Hands/Crazy Hands this whole time, given the fact that Galeem had an entire army of them. But is Subspace canon for World of Light? Characters like Zelda look completely different, so that wouldn't entirely make sense. Is Master Core a universal thing or only a condition one of the hands suffered from? Are any of the multiman teams canon? What parts of the real world is any of this supposed to represent? I've never been able to figure any of this out.
I'll be waiting for your two hour documentary on the issue of continuity in Smash Bros.
I don't think you're being that guy -- i actually agree with you. I think the lyrics, while generic, were still done better than those in Jump Up, Super Star! which were often weird or esoteric, probably trying to ape the original Japanese too much.
I'm not a huge fan of the lyrics in Lifelight, BUT, i think it was all worth it, just for the eerie chills i got in the one moment where our favorite pink orb messiah slams facefirst into the dirt. It was such a shounen OP scene.
God, it's all up to you, Kirby. We're rooting for you. o7
I know I'm super late and this might be stupid but this alone convinced me I want the game. Lol
If you spell galeem backwards you get Meelag
The twist is that it's all the destroyed wrists from Melee players coming to kill you.
Meelag sounds like a prison that you guys the to fight Russian melee players.
I know what you're trying to say, but I have no idea how you were trying to say it.
Oh my god,

he's so happy!
He knows his job is to let the fighters wail on him, but gosh darn it he's just proud to be helping
The fact that the Sandbag makes me confused, Home-Run Smash wasn't in the Games & More menu right? It seems a bit weird to go through the effort of making the sandbag but not pull through and make the rest of the mode as well.
Training mode probably lets you spawn him in too though
Sure, I just don't really see the point of adding the sandbag if the whole mode based around it isn't in.
I could be wrong, but I think in either Brawl or 4, Sandbag was a rare-ish item in normal matches that could be punched for him to drop small items like food.
Call me overly-optimistic, but if I knew my character was long-since confirmed for Smash and people were asking "are you gonna try to get them in Smash", you can bet my answer would be "IF YOU GET EXCITED ENOUGH MAYBE NINTENDO WILL LISTEN!"
Build that fucking hype train around your brand, let the community get emotionally invested in a reveal you already know is assured. It's like telling a little kid "hey, if you're good, MAYBE SANTA WILL COME!" when you've already bought the presents.
I read the tweet
then I noticed it was a resetera link
F-Zero not getting any love, even a new proper stage or something in Ultimate really, really bothers me, because it is the only series from the original game to not get anything else other than stages
The entire canon can be explained by saying "they're toys and kids are playing with them". That was the literal plot of Smash 64, Melee made it a bit more mature by introducing the trophies instead of dolls and Crazy Hand and Giga Bowser, but it was still the same deal, Brawl added an actual story-mode but so far the only canon part of that is ROB being the "last of his kind" and the various enemies popping up in other modes, otherwise no mention is made of it. Sm4sh, same deal, and Ultimate, it's safe to assume you can just say "a kid is playing a really intense board game with all his figures" or "he's imagining all his characters turned evil except Kirby because Kirby is his absolute favorite".
I feel like these kinds of people are the reason why we'll never have another Punch Out game
Please buy Mr. Game and Watch pants at the very least holy shit
They lost any actual seriousness in listening to the second they linked ResetEra imo. Plus I mean I can see how people could find it offensive, but for the most part I doubt anyone really cares. Still though, like Mattt said, I can see why people would get offended by it still nonetheless.
