Reminder: If you are getting Ultimate digitally, install it on your internal storage instead of your MicroSD for faster load times. How to install games on your internal storage: If you've already downloaded it to MicroSD, enter Settings > Data Management > Manage Software, then Archive the game to uninstall it. Save data is unaffected. Power off your Switch by holding the power button, Power Options, then Turn Off. Remove your MicroSD card. Power your Switch back on, and check Data Management to ensure you have enough room (Ultimate is ~13GB) Purchase the game via the eShop, or select the game's archived option if you've already bought it. Wait for the download to complete, then follow the steps to power your device back off, insert your MicroSD again, and power it on once more.

Knee breaks shield hella fast, damn. I'm so glad Master Hero Sakurai still made Taunt to Falcon Punch a true combo.

Goddamn a 90's Ska cover of the Splatoon theme fits so perfectly, I can practically hear some dude with mutton chops and a checkered tuxedo yelling "PICK IT UP PICK IT UP PICK IT UP" into a crowd of aging stoners, skate punks, and nerds who have fond memories of when Tony Hawk games were good.

Any reported changes for DK from the recent events?
Even though I'm okay with most of the Direct, I still thought this meme was funny: https://i.imgur.com/X62SG7U.jpg
Personal Theory: There are suppose to be two Nintendo directs this month like what was speculated. The 2nd one is going to be used to announce the Nintendo 64 mini. They are going to talk about it's release date being right before the Christmas rush. And their big announcement is going to be Banjo- Kazooie and Tooie will be a part of the game list. They then do their "but wait we have one more thing to show you." And then we get Mewtwoed with a model of Banjo as the announcement that Banjo will be the first Smash DLC character slated for March of 2019.
But Piranha Plant is the first Smash DLC character. Also why would they have two Banjo games on an N64 Mini
Because Microsoft is going to announce Banjo-Threeie at their Xbox conference for Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Nintendo fans need a way to catch up duh.
PP isn't one of the 5 Fighter's Pass characters.
But he's the first Smash DLC character, which is what they said.
I thought it was obvious I was talking about the first DLC in the fighter packs.
I totally expect the first DLC character to be a big ticket character to entice people to buy the Fighter's Pass right way.
piranha plant is sick as hell and im gonna eat y'alls booties online with him
Well Vergeben is now saying that the first DLC will be something from Square Enix. There's been a ton of speculation about what would count as a likely square enix rep, and there's three that keep coming up: Geno obviously Sora is mentioned all the time and would make sense, but is apparently primarily owned by Disney and would thus be a huge pain to negotiate And then there's Dragon Quest, which another less reliable leaker keeps pointing to. but apparently the rights for that are owned by so many people it could be a mess to sort out as well These three are the big ones. Vergeben has no idea who it could be because apparently his sources have been yielding 7 different names in all, which is what a big company like Square Enix would do to try and catch leakers (aka 'leak' fake names to various workers, see what then surfaces online). But as always, who fucking knows what's gonna happen.
If Sakurai gets what he wants. It would be Geno we all know he has been wanting to add him for awhile. I really don't think Sora has any chance what so ever.
Idk. The fact Square Enix is first up to bat for these DLC packs kinda makes me think it won't be Geno. Geno is what the die hard Smash fans want. He's not gonna have appeal with all the casual players that will make up most of the DLC buyer market. They'd want something that'd resonate with as many people as possible. Someone like Sora damn sure would, fucking hell is he relevant right now. I'd kill for Geno as well, but yea, I have my doubts.
So that Stop N Swop can finally be realized on a Nintendo 64.
My problem with Sora is that Sakurai tries to keep characters true to their in game appearances and I really don't see Sora working without all the Disney themed attacks he can use.
Speaking of Nintendo Directs/N64 mini, the same Twitter account that gave the early date for the Smash direct says they have incoming info on the next general Nintendo Direct, which may be where we find out if Banjo is on the N64 mini (and thus that much more likely to show up in Smash, possibly...) https://twitter.com/GamingINTELcom/status/1059294644083679233
Yea if Banjo kazooie is on the N64 Mini, I'd call him just about a lock at that point. especially if this N64 Mini is scheduled to happen late into 2019. They could have a Smash DLC just before it launches to help promote it, same as they did with Isabelle. We'll seeeeee

If I am somewhat right in my personal theory then I am totally an insider you guys. You should listen to me then on out
As far as I'm concerned, Banjo and Geno should be DLC fighters. We know Microsoft is totally open to the idea of letting Banjo-Kazooie stuff appear on Nintendo platforms and we know Square is already on their side with Cloud appearing in both 4 and Ultimate (and a TON of FF games coming to the eShop, including ones that were previously Sony exclusives, like FF7). We know Sakurai has vouched for both Geno and B/K's inclusion in past games, the only issue being licensing/legal stuff since they're owned by outside companies (issues that, as we've seen, are NOT issues anymore). There is literally no reason for the two of them to NOT appear as DLC, outside of Sakurai or some other higher-up at Nintendo outright saying "nah, they're not allowed in the game because reasons", which would also be bullshit because we know the demand is there. But more importantly, they know the demand is there, considering how volatile people were after the Grinch Leak was debunked. I'm feeling confident, but it's also a real Casey At The Bat situation. It's the bottom of the 9th, bases are loaded, and they've got a ringer coming up to bat. They can either get cocky and stop now, or they can just hit the ball like everyone wants them to and give us the ultimate Smash game, where the closest thing to a glaring omission in the roster is Waluigi
I still want Ryu Hayabusa as another third party NES character like Simon. He'd also be the first actual Katana user, which is actually surprising.

It was a missed opportunity to not make R.O.B's new Final Smash a reference to Subspace. Have him dressed up in his robes and blow up the stage with one of those subspace bombs.
