They might be all the content we get from now on.
contracts have 0 appeal when you have to play halloween maps
https://twitter.com/jaypinkerton/status/612113790750961664 The bit where she's oogly zhanna's honey-covered behind in the last comic was also a slightly heavy-handed reference to it as well.
Just played a usual casual game on Borneo. The first round was nothing special, just some good gameplay with a few people talking on mic. The second round, however, everybody on our team went Heavy and everybody on the enemy team went Spy. It was a lot of goofy fun just seeing htem Spycrab around the cart. We kicked anybody that was killing them, and luckily we were able to get them to cap the first three points, before we turned on them and the game started back up again. However, the majority of their team was dedicated - they all went Pyro, then they all went Demoknight. It was a lot of genuine fun, and it's games like that that remind me that TF2 isn't just about whining and arguing and being pessimistic, like it's portrayed in the FP community. Unfortunately, I only got a screenshot of how hectic the first round's setup time was in spawn, but steam's screenshot system is fucked up (because what can't they fuck up these days), but, still, lots of fun. I recommend the classic proverb "go outside" for the people in the thread who only seem to want to argue and be pessimistic. Play some TF2. Try and have some fun. (concerning hackers potentially ruining the fun - I haven't personally seen a hacker that wasn't kicked since quickplay was introduced. Maybe I'm just lucky 'cause I'm on the U.S. East Coast, which is usually the most populated region for TF2. Chances are, if there was a hacker and his team refused to kick him, I'd just leave and re-queue.)
Dick move.
i like how they didnt, as he said "shoe-horned it into the comics, as it would look like a cheap attention grabber" i really like that and agree.~
Not at all. the blue team was being chill and spycrabbing, so we responded in kind. The dick move was killing them anyways when it was clear a truce was reached. If you wanna be a spoilsport for the people goofing around, you can leave the server and re-queue
Is it just me or is anyone else having this issue? I tried restarting steam, etc etc but nothing. https://i.imgur.com/kvFHehl.png
If you want to commandeer a server and not let people play the game, make your own server.
I got that yesterday too for a little bit, idk what's going on
Ooh, I referred to you in my original post! Read the fourth paragraph. The one with "go outside". Instead of whining about how everybody on the server was a group of commandeering assholes because they kicked 2 people that attacked the enemy team when nobody else was shooting, go actually try to have fun. Maybe you'll learn from the experience
then the 8 people having fun by being friendlies kick them, like we did
Go outside
Christ just go outside and get some fresh air
racist gamer man your crusade against indoor spaces has little bearing on the discussion at hand
You: trying to whine and make personal attacks and start arguments about nothing me: having fun playing the fun Team Forts 2 Video Game https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/976613696898760715/35CCCBF7162ECAC235D39E62E17F38D0C1C5C59F/
shut up johnny joe pls
This is why I started more regularly queuing up in a party of six....
I ended up on a game with two hackers today. One was an aim-botting scout, the other a sniper. Scout was on blu, sniper was on red. The sniper wasn't feeling it and full on went rage-hacking just to kill the scout. He said if blu kicked the scout, he'd stop aim-botting. The scout didn't get kicked and the round just kind of ended like a wet fart with red winning. Some fucking victory that was.
I was on SourceOP's 2Fort last night. At one point there were 4 hackers on, 2 per team. One brand new account named wrxstiboost, who was aimbotting as sniper, getting brand new achievements and making zero effort to hide it. One infamous hacker named Billy Mays. 8000 hours in TF2. 13 year old account Only aimbots as pistol Scout. Literally does nothing else. One bling hacker, really sure of his paid cheats. Multiple unusuals on sniper (both plasmas), pro aussie sniper rifle. Endless shit talking in chat. One hilarious noob hacker who did not know how to manage his cheats. He had both namesteal and viewlock (Iook at the sky) stuck on. None of the four were successfully votekicked. One poor sap got kicked because idiots thought he was the name stealer. SourceOP isn't all talk, so I was in spectate, initially calling out the cheaters in text chat, but as the situation became more absurd I began making jokes about it. This is the state of TF2 in 2018. Two hackers per team, in all stages of cheating in the game. A mass of hapless idiots in between them, unable to do anything productive. All this on a server owned (or formerly owned by) a Valve employee (drunkenf00l) who was VAC'd for reverse engineering TF2 ...and then getting his VAC ban removed and a job offer for his efforts. It's both sad and absurd.
why can't you be a friendly in the forums and not in the game.
I was being friendly. I posted a post that was literally just me going "Wow, I had a really fun game of TF2. It was nice to experience the game's fun again, maybe some of you guys should do that too, try and just have some fun with the game". The problem is the people that use this section specifically act like children and throw hissyfits because they want everybody to think THEY'RE the smarterest and THEIR beliefs about the game are the only thing that matter. They also love to try and deflect with snappy personal attacks and trying to act like rubber bands or something, bouncing back with "haha it's funny how IRONIC you're being by saying WE'RE acting like children when YOU'RE also posting here and responding to what we say". I've been branching out to other sections of facepunch recently and it's amazing just how vitriolic, acid-spitting, and just plain unpleasant people are here compared to, say, the Smash threads. Even people like you that also use those threads aren't nearly as vile-spewing in there as you can be here. Throughout the past 20 or so threads for Sm4sh I've been a part of since the Grinch leak, the most I can say is that sometimes people will say something silly and dumb and other people will respond in kind, and that'll be that. I think yesterday somebody made a dumb comment about "How dare you not find this joke funny". People responded in a same manner, just like I do here, and that was the end of it. But here, in the TF2 threads, you say one thing and people will be at eachother's throats for god knows what reason, and it'll go on for 20 pages, until a mod steps in. You're welcome to read my original post again. I feel bad that I wasn't able to capture a screenshot because without one, I feel like I gave the implication that half the server was being crusading or something, kicking the rotten meanies that dared shoot their guns, but christ almighty, people still found something to whine about because of the post! And it wasn't even the part I expected people to whine about! A section of the post was literally just "you petty fools should try just having fun with the game once in a while instead of naysaying about it for weeks straight". But somehow, everybody ignored that part, and me mentioning that we kicked 2 guys that were just shooting people on the enemy team, when literally everybody else in the full, 24-man server was being friendly, spycrabbing, and doing taunts, got really under peoples' skin. Ranting about how DARE we kick somebody because WE THINK THEY AREN'T HAVING FUN THE RIGHT WAY is the pettiest, most immature, shit I've seen in a while. And then it went on, and on, with stupid petty "HMM i'm an armchair analyst and think it's PRETTY SUSPICIOUS that you're being so SHALLOW and such an ASSHOLE for kicking somebody for "NOT HAVING FUN THE WAY YOU WANT TO"" comments, as if this was some big hubbub and not just 2 people that got kicked, said "whatever" , and presumably queued up to play again. It's ridiculously petty. It's really like people in this thread don't know how to have fun or just enjoy a game or something. I'm not gonna say it's because of the content drought, either, because that doesn't excuse just being rude and argumentative at every opportunity. Watch, people will try to respond to THIS post by pointing out how HYPOCRITICAL i'm being and how IRONIC this post is because I TOTALLY argue too so I'm JUST AS BAD AS THE EVIL MEANIES IN THIS THREAD. Yep, I'll admit it, I argue here too. In fact, that's why I've been avoiding this thread like the plague for the past 2-3 weeks. People need to go into other threads, or find something else to do while they wait for updates, instead of bitching and moaning and slinging venom at eachother for dare not making a comment that isn't either "woah, this is interesting!" or "wow, this game hasn't been updated forever, and that sucks". Maybe then, petty shit like this wouldn't even happen. If I'm such the attraction that I get the feeling people here make me out to be, then observe me in other threads. Notice how people aren't starting shit-flinging fights with me because I say something like "Ugh I'm sick of that joke", or "God I love Max and Super Best Friends".
I really didn’t want to intervene in the topic, but I had two pennies, so here we go: To be honest, I never understood the concept of being friendly. I could say “ThErE iS nO fUn In Tf2”, but it sounds rude, which means; that I need to make less cruel statement: being friendly isn’t fun. Seriously, I tried to act friendly by myself, and the results of it are kinda dull and dumb. People were saying voice lines from ZXC menus, throwing Sandwiches, dancing Conga and etc. What I gathered from this? Some information. What information? Being friendly is extremely boring. Yeah, let’s sit our asses off and do nothing. Let’s stare at people actually performing some action and whine about it. What about thousands of idle/trade/friendly-only servers? Why don’t you then transfer your lazy asses to these kinds of servers, and let people have some real fun? Class wars are not bad, but when you do nothing and watch other team slowly pushing to the victory, while kicking those who grab a gun and shoot the “winning” team, despite the fact that it’s not your regular friendly server... What did we do to you in the past, and why do we deserve this torture?! And guess what? Before you say your sacred phrase, let me tell you something. I go outside every day with the thought in my mind, that there are people on the Earth, who sit inside and talk shit about someone’s opinion, telling them to go outside. This is quite strange, don’t you think? Sorry, if I hurt someone’s feelings, but I couldn’t hold myself on anymore.
Did I not make it clear that literally everybody in the full server was being friendly except for the two people or does that really piss people off so much? Was that not abundantly clear from me repeating "it was a unanimous vote to kick the random people", or me pointing out that at most, they were slightly annoyed, but re-queued up instead of trying to rant about how awful it is that they were kicked for not having the same fun as everybody else? Please, explain to me what the missed connection is. Anything to stop this argument that goes nowhere. This feels like if I made a post about how an aimbot was kicked but otherwise we all had fun, but people were up in arms about it because "Why the fuck did you kick him??!?!?! he was having fun but not the same kind you or the rest of the server was so why do it!?!?!? are you an asshole maybe?!?!?!?!!?!? what the fuck is wrong with having fun a different way?!?!?!!?" Also, I called it. "how IRONIC and HYPOCRITICAL of u to say that hmmmm??? that other people should dare go outside and have some fun and do other stuff when ur doing the same thing hmmm????" It seems like the only non-insult but still insult people know how to use anymore.
Elaborate where my comparison fails then.
to be fair the average iq level of your average 24/7 2fort server is just slightly lower than your average 24/7 hightower server so expecting as much was already a mistake
Fucking around in tf2 with taunts and voice lines and saying "That medic's a bloody MEDIC" and using your kill bind after high fiving and throwing bananas around is entertaining. For about 60 seconds. Then the round starts and it's time to turn our brains back on and play Team Fortress 2.
Must be why there's so many friendlies.
Don't forget dancing out of spawn and getting blown up. THEN you can start playing normally.
Honestly though, where do partner taunts fall in the vanilla gameplay? Setup time? But they made it so you can taunt with enemies.
