M4? what are you even about. There's like one button in the mouse and thats it. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/132767/43495119-7e55-4678-9d96-4a5927debc22/image.png
Looks like the perfect mouse to play Pyro with
I took a crack at remaking the cut version of CTF Badlands from before TF2's release, thought I would share it here. How did I do? https://youtu.be/FKkxy-G9gUg Workshop Link: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1566643812&searchtext=
I already give you props for using that particular song and giving it a feel like it was created with the original TF introduction lol.
Man I miss TF2C,
I miss team fortress forever
This looks fantastic and I honestly wonder about the theoretical situation that it could be added to the game; Isn't that like adding... their own thing? Or idea? Never thought about it.
It seems Valve doesn't really like adding content that's too similar to something they already did. The Hazmat Headcase is a good example of this. Hate to be Debbie Downer (again?), but I don't see this being added mostly out of Valve being stubborn like that.
I miss video games
I assume Fortress Forever's playerbase slowly bled out till it's none-existent. Last time I played around 2 years ago it was still somewhat lively, was a lot of fun to play, people were actually using voice chat not to just insult each other. I guess that was one of the benefits to having a small playerbase.

having not experienced TFC or FF, I still wonder if soldier and demo had the monopoly of the game as much as tf2
Heads up for any mappers: TF2Maps has recently launched a payload map contest. It's pretty loose with the requirements, allowing any theme and payload based gamemode. There's also some references and resources listed for those new to creating payload maps. Has prizes too if you're interested in those. https://tf2maps.net/threads/tf2maps-net-major-contest-15-payload-checklist-contest.38022/
All i remember is that in pro ctf games med and scouts were really good with their conc grenades to surf inside and outside the flag room on some maps if the other team didnt have a turret.
one of the contributors of the hat updated the model, which included a joke addition to enable it for sniper (it wasn't meant to actually be accepted with the sniper equip, and I think it was a joke about all the cosmetics being updated for multi class for no reason), but Valve didn't bother to quality check, so they just added the sniper version to the game.
what are you on about the example you list has nothing to do with internal property whatsoever
I think they were talking about how Valve initially rejected it, since it was pretty close to some Pyro concept art https://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/1/18/Hazmat_Workshop_Preview_Original.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1880/28d9a812-09f6-4a80-8d02-4efc60b33c7e/image.png
At this point, does it really matter anymore?
oh okay, I thought they meant about the sniper thing.
Why is this so familiar to me? I swear I've never seen this map before but its also insanely familiar.
It's based on an old piece of concept art (actual map screenshot from the beta? Can't remember). You probably saw the old picture, and are remembering that.
I don't think this was uploaded to the workshop for it to be added in game. I think it was put there just to advertise it so people could try it.
At this point we're lucky if Valve adds anything to the game.
Copy pasting workshop items into a case once a year is too much work for them
Reminds me of my first ever game of PC TF2 after playing the 360 version. I played on 2fort.... Arena 2fort. For the longest time I was looking everywhere trying to figure out why it wasn't on any official maps. Turns out it was a custom map. Lots of fun though. Fond memories of me asking in chat "I found a hat drop, how do I pick it up?" (I almost religiously researched the TF2 wiki for months before I could play, so I knew about hats dropping, but not how it worked. A hat fell off a corpse and I found it)
it does when that desing belongs to a third party, not to valve itself. same reason why they rejected balloonicorn-based items for a long time.
on this note, i'd be interested to know: what custom maps give you guys the most nostalgia? for me, it's dm_crossfire, which my original community server ran almost fulltime... dm_crossfire | Team Fortress 2 Maps it made learning Spy even harder, but it helped me develop my DM pretty early on, too...
