TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station V13 - Heavy times

No I mean take it off enemy spies, it gives them away so fucking badly.
I suppose it depends on what class you're using. I play a lot of Demoman, and Heavy is just about the easiest class to annihilate. Unless you're at point blank range, caught completely unawares, you should always win that match up. Even if the Heavy is pocketed, sticky spam on its own is enough to either outright kill the Heavy, or force a retreat.
As for newer players doing better with Heavy, I guess that's contingent on what you're definition of better is. I rarely see good Heavies, especially in Casual. Mediocre Heavies on the other hand, tend not to realize the limits of their class and position themselves poorly, taking fights they shouldn't and missing most of their shots if their opponents have good movement. Of course, the lack of skilled Heavy players could also be because it isn't an attractive class to a majority of players.
That wouldn't help that much either, because now if you see a teammate without the outline then you'll know that they're a spy.
I think the best option is to just remove the respawn wall hacks completely since new players most likely don't pay attention to it at all.
I'm in agreement with this. I like the idea that it helps direct newer players to where the fight is, more so when many people in casual don't communicate well at all. But having disguised spies show up as well is just dumb.
A lot of people make the argument that it would give away spies at spawn, but the thing is, it gives away spies all over the map with it on. Spies also generally rely more on cloak to get around anyway as disguises aren't reliable even around spawn. People can work better with it off then with it on.
most maps have places in spawn areas specifically designed for spies to hide and ambush lonely players as they move towards the objective, such as hoodoo or snakewater.
the outline instantly shows that you're hidding right there so it renders that part of spy completely moot.

teammates in your FOV who aren't behind something already don't have outlines...
do you guys just not play the game?
They do still have outlines if that setting is switched on. It's incredibly noisy visually
I've looked for this and haven't seen it, and I have the spawn outlines enabled. Weird.
It might be based on graphical settings. Either way, I also think it's a completely garbage edition and has broken more than it benefited, and it needs to be removed. It completely breaks custom hud playermodel settings as well - lighting is fucked if you, say, use transparent viewmodels, like with ToonHUD.
outlines in tf2 are so thin, aliased and ugly
even CSGO got the good ones from L4D
anyway, even when outlines are present on teammates who aren't behind something...
a spy being exposed because you looked at him closely enough to notice he didn't have an outline is a MUCH better scenario than a spy being exposed because he was disguised, behind cover, and revealed by a fucking wallhack
if people can see you as a spy and you aren't literally just about to kill someone or literally have just killed someone, you're doing your job wrong.
Honestly, I'd love a knife for the spy that makes him go full on combat spy (buffing his primary, speed, and survivability) in exchange for unable for doing backstabs.
I never once played TF2 and felt like I needed to know the exact locations of my teammates.
I kinda just always know where they are from just spectating while respawning, I mean it's not hard to do.
so is everyone just passively ignoring this or what does it mean that the tf2/tf2 beta seemingly got touched up upon out of nowhere
Ambassador and Dead Ringer are already pretty effective for that.
stock is a better assault revolver tho
First time in 4 months too... why does no one seem interested?
That isn't the significant thing, the update 4 months ago was just the usual steam db shit

all of these dont matter
what is important that this is the first somewhat significant change the tf2 beta has received for 5 years
Maybe its nothing?
Didn't they get rid of the TF2 beta because nobody played it
how would you accidentally re-add the tf2 beta as a game and everything alongside with it
TF2 beta confirmed playable again soonᵀᴹ?
it's no accident
it's also no substantial proof about anything
if they want to hype a big deal they're well gonna use the damn blog.
Im not saying this is the confirmation that the tf2 beta is coming back but you cant really look at this and say "this is nothing" without a doubt in your mind can you?
somebody thought something was out of place and they cleaned it up. the end. this isn't the first time it happens and won't be the last.
...And they cleaned it up by re-adding the game that was deleted long ago?
