TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station V13 - Heavy times

its been like that for a long, long time. a lot of props have issues on old maps and some models as well.
Good vid, I personally think heavy changes will come with smissmass and be just alright.
I also doubt valve has any plans to remarket comp which is depressing. We might get MvM content though.
Most likely, but don't quote me on that. I recall the issue being present for a long, long time, might have been introduced by the time they added they mapfixes to the old maps, but then again I never really paid attention to these ligthing issues until someone pointed them out years later.
Is it when I said Soldier instead of Sniper?
@ValveNewsNetwork
Can I just say if there is no decent maps to showcase, showcase a few decent cosmetic sets from the workshop. Everyone can see the top 3 on the steam library.
The only one you sounded enthusiastic about was frostmoon, you actually bothered to show some glamor shots of it. Lets be blunt the overwatch map was a glorified CP_orange map at this point and most of the showcasing of cathedral was you jumping in and around the enemy spawn area rather than showing any interesting part of the map.
As for content, you just seem to be on a loop now, I think people would have appreciated more a proper indepth look at the halloween update maps, talk a bit with the creators and voice your opinions on each map. Go over the case's content and say "yeah I really like this, nah I don't really like this"
You spent under 5 minutes on the video for the halloween update and 12 minutes on this.

What the fuck?
Somebody tried this on me too and I just played along for a while lol
Seriously, I've been having so many scammers lately (I think I got like 30 already, and I don't even have an unusual). The week before the previous week was very interesting. I decided to open the flood gates and add 5 people that I guessed will be scammers like mostly people who added me are. Guess what: they all were. One was particularly dedicated and actually managed to scam out from me 7 euros items. Still hurts, though. I always thought only idiots get scammed, but looks like I was wrong. That guy was incredibly dedicated in trying to get my whole, pretty cheap inventory. He could have done some better things in that time.
your mistake is adding random people.
what do you expect? magic new friendships out of nowhere?
It's been broken for years. Some issues go back to 2015 and the launch of Gun Mettle. Some go back even further. There are multiple problems with lighting on launch maps. 2Fort is significant in that it's the one that's played the most. The darker lighting has dramatically changed the gameplay. Red snipers can camp in deep shadows on their battlements, cheerfully hardscope and be much harder to see than their blue counterparts. Both bases have much darker (intel) basements now, with greatly improved spy hiding spots as a result. All of the red base is darker than it should be. The end result of this is that sniper mains like to join red and spy mains like to join blue.
I marked your post "late" because these issues are painfully obvious to anyone who has, ahem, logged days of their life on 2Fort. 2Fort is an interesting phenomenon in that it is THE most popular map in the game, attracting a player base that primarily plays it and no other map.* Conversely, the rest of the TF2 community kind of hates it.
At any given time, there is one 2Fort server that is the hub of the community that surrounds that map. For years it was SourceOP's 32 player server. That place is now a sad parody of its former glory, made all the more pathetic by the fact that it is/was owned by Valve employee DrunkenF00l. Right now the home of 2Fort crowd is Skial's 2Fort+ (32 player, instant respawn) LA server. There really is no experience like playing there at night. I liken it to TF2's Waffle House. It's the only place where you'll see FROYO Nursey, a 400 ping backburner pyro, pablo.gonzalez.2004, some angry drunk guy, BFL Satan, a small Thai child that has not let go of his push to talk key in at least 8 minutes, and uh ...me, all at the same time, in an endless TDM chokepoint shit show. It ain't for everybody, but for those with a taste for such thing there is no substitute. 2Fort puts the "community" in community servers.
*FWIW this is not me, I'm a Doublecross main, but that map is dead on community servers post-QuickPlay, so late night it's 2Fort or bust.
Lol: apparently the modest pile of hat jumped from 1.22 ref to a current high of 14-15 ref since this update launched, and all because people are wearing it in combination with the Gaelic Glutton so they can be Big Smoke.

Woah I wonder why it says this on every page
Are Dave, Eric, and Jill not included in the 5 people on the team? Mechawreck's video doesn't seem to clear up anything about this, he for some reason mentions "12-16 people" without anything to back that up and then talks about a Source 2 port for the rest of the video for which there is very little evidence.
Also, you seem to have been getting a bit condescending lately, with your mention of how "nobody ever seems to play on your severs" or sending questions to the TF team "for them to be ignored". Plus your quip a while ago about certain content creators not wanting you to get information. This type of language doesn't help to promote unity and positivity, which may not be a conscious goal of yours, but it's easy to breed unintended contempt among your viewers if you're not careful with your words and implications.
Something I would like to see more in your videos is more involvement with the community beyond just showcasing maps. I would suggest looking into (politely and non-pesteringly) inviting some experienced members of the mapping or item making community onto the show. Maybe some sort of interview or discussion would help gather some insight? Just a thought.
SPUDs been getting a lot of people claiming to fall victim to this particular scam. It's more likely to be trying to raise more awareness to it to attempt keep people from falling victim to it in the future.
The more it's posted, the better chances more people will see it.
unrelated but I totally did kinda make magic new friendships out of nowhere by accepting random steam requests
also provided you're not an idiot you're not really going to fall for a scam like that
Yeah I was trying to point out that even if you look up your own profile at SR it'll say that at the top, quite unfortunate that people still fall for it, we've been dealing with an increasing number of such reports
Thought of the day: there needs to be a weapon that cock-blocks Sniper as well as the Homewrecker does to Spy. No, not the Vaccinator (which used to PROTECT Snipers entirely too often.) The only thing I can think of is the Battalion's Backup banner which gives momentary AoE headshot immunity. The FoS sort-of does, but it's been heavily (heh) nerfed. I'd suggest something for Scout, but the little shit is already sufficiently OP.
I wonder how the game would have been since start if sniper was exactly the same except with no headshots
until medics show up with overheal, 50-150 from safe range is still decent enough for a ""support"".
The skill ceiling would be significantly lower (obviously), for one. Heavies with Medic pockets would be a lot harder to deal with. In fact, Heavies in general would be a lot harder to deal with without a Spy focusing them.
bad thing?
A very bad thing indeed. Shall I remind you of the days when people went "rage heavy"?
Spam the Heavy with stickies and pipes = win. I don't know what game you're playing, but this mythical scenario where an overhealed Heavy's only counter is a fully-charged shot to the face just doesn't exist in Team Fortress 2.
I definitely know that I wouldn't be scammed with this method. I'm saying "WTF" because he didn't have even try to scam me and just told me to kill myself and my family. Guess he saw through my sarcasm. Was pretty smart for a scammer.
Take a page out of 3kliks book when it comes to new content or even community made content during dry spells.

This is in my opinion a great informative piece of video making.
I think I’m the first person on the internet to buy and post pics of part of the last wave of NECA TF2 figures. Behold the Medic:

I genuinely couldn't tell you. It could be a bad thing, it could be a good thing. I really think this is one of those cases where you'd have to actually do some gameplay testing to see whether it's a good or bad thing.
It's not so much a single heavy that's a problem, it's when suddenly there's 900 HP waddling onto the battlefield you can't really approach without turning into swiss cheese since with 3 heads they can shut down Spies trying to flank and otherwise they just have to focus anything that tries to get near with their combined DPS piquing into the 4 digit range. In a pub scenario there's typically not enough coordination to slap 3+ Heavies down in quick response simply because it's a surprise.
It's not so much that Sniper is the be-all-end-all counter to heavy, there are many ways to simply outplay him in isolation. It's just that Sniper in particular forces Heavy to respect sightlines and not sit revved in the open like an idiot

I'm glad tik tok has made everybody sick of that awful song
