That feels way to grimdark for an ending to the TF2 universe. While I would buy the idea that the comic marks the end of the story, I do not think it would end quite like that. Remember, this comic was originally meant to be bi-monthly and I really doubt timing issues or some kind of rewrite of the storyline is behind the delay.

I believe someone early on unboxed a Green Energy unusual hat during the Halloween event from those keyless cosmetic cases to see if they could get one from that with the new effects. I wonder if this would be the same case as this and could possibly get a second unusual hat with one of the new effects perhaps?

It would not. For the last two years Valve have enabled halloween effects only from CASES not CRATES. This is very much on purpose. Probably so they can sell more case specific keys. I saw a guy unbox a Sunbeams Law on a trade server a few weeks ago. Poor fella.

Do you agree that TF2 is the least buggy it has ever been? Teletraps and quantum crouch fixed, many MvM bugs fixed, Pyro's buggy airblast fixed, etc.

It's also the most balanced its ever been since, like, the spy vs sniper update. That update was the beginning of a long reign of terrible, overpowered new weapons and/or weapon rebalances, that have largely been rectified by either nerfing them into the ground or undoing the shit "balance" changes. While it's still not great, because like half the weapons are the game are useless, and there's still a few that are bullshit, it's better than the years when axtinguisher/degreaser pyros ran rampant across servers, or the the nearly year long period when changes to the short circuit made demoman and soldier useless against sentry nests - just to name a few times in TF2 history when things were consistently less enjoyable than they are now.

I will say that giving the admin and Ms Pauling some kind of intimate moment just before she dies sounds very likely to me. When Ms. Pauling was made a lesbian by the comic writers a lot of people thought it was meant as a justification for why she's not into scout, which would of course be completely unnecessary, but I really don't think that was the point. I think it was supposed to be so they could frame her relationship with the Admin as a Smithers/Mr. Burns situation. Having Ms. Pauling be infatuated with the admin makes a lot of sense, it explains why she puts up with the terrible working conditions and bizarre lifestyle she has to deal with. Having the most 'normal' character in the series be in love with a power-hungry sociopathic monster who who is probably incapable of love seems like a very TF2 thing to do. Nobody is allowed to be a really functional human being in the tf2 universe. "Nearly kiss" seems a bit much though, I don't really buy the admin reciprocating. And in any case, anybody could infer this from what we've seen already, it's not really evidence in favor of the leak being real.

A bit disappointed how quickly it appears to wrap things up. The whole Saxton/Maggie/Mann Co love triangle? Nah, Olivia was never really Gray's granddaughter so one fight scene later and we're back to status quo. Scout dying in Spy's arms? Nah, he got better in-between issues. That powerful "we're Team Fortress, and YOU'RE dead!" moment? Nah, they all fucking die. Administrator sucking down all the Australium and becoming the final boss? Nah, there was an unseen puppet master this whole time and now he's gone and now Administrator is one of the gang oops she's dead (and maybe gay). Like, I'd be totally cool with everything in those posts being real if they spread it out over two issues instead of one (or if they went out of their way to make the last issue real fuckin' big). The idea that Administrator kept the Gravel Wars going for so long because it was a big, prolonged blood sacrifice to some eldritch being in exchange for supreme administrative powers over the most powerful substance on the planet is a stroke of brilliance, they'd just have to make it feel like they didn't only come up with it when writing the last issue (which, if true, they probably did). Venture Bros has a tone that's very similar to TF2 and they make the whole "we wrote this as we came up with it and decided to tie it back to something from a long time ago like we had this all naturally planned out from the beginning" thing look easy.

I'm sure it will at least be as big as the last few comics, so there's room to make all of this work. And as dark of an ending it is, it's also completely in line with Valve's sensibilities, especially now that we know that Half Life 2: Episode 3 was also going to end on an equally dark note.

I started them till they fixed appearently a bug making me have to do the pumpkin bomb bonuses again. I just lost interest at that point. At the end I just played the new maps because at least they were relatively fun. Well, except for the boss spam on the camp map... That, like every other map that does boss spam, was just obnoxious.
