We'll see how good the shooting is against Human opponents, against AI there's a level of predictability to it, but Humans, Humans who are also just as good if not better at aiming than you are? We'll see how well it holds, I have no doubts it'll be fine mind you, just, I reckon I'll get owned a few times.
I had three horses while playing the story.
The first one fell while we were riding up a hill, which it then rolled down. Broke it's neck on a tree halfway down.
Second one was hit by that train I posted a video about.
Third one lasted till the finish line.
If my horse died I just re-loaded the last save, or if it was in a mission tried to load the last checkpoint
I made it a point not to reload the last save, cause I kinda liked the permadeath mechanic. Made me love each horse even more. Man did I get pissed when people hit them during firefights.
well my horse only died once, so it's not like I abused the reload.
I always stay stocked up on horse revivers just in case. I've only needed to use them on a few occasions though.
I had once instance where I need to use a reviver on my horse and that was after we dropped down a 4 foot cliff...10/10 physics.
I once tried to use a horse reviver, but I pressed the kill button for like half a second (it's one of those you gotta hold for a while)
Well Arthur didn't lift a finger, but I couldn't use the horse reviver anymore, horse was just dead.
you hit the very tip of the wheel barrow's right handle with the horse's leg, so the game must have triggered the ragdoll for you and horsey.
Shit, that would have been good to know. I just started my second play through and I didn’t have enough cash the first time around so I robbed him. Felt kinda shitty about it too

When Arthur truly felt like he was fighting for something good.
Here are all the cheats

there's no god mode cheat (wHY)
I wonder if that last one will unlock New Austin for Arthur.
well that doesn't work if you're trying to launch a stagecoach off the side of a sheer cliff and still be alive after
I broke my OG PS4 today trying to clean it. Luckily I anticipated my own incompetence and waited until after Red Dead to attempt such a cleaning.
I'm glad I had like 2 solid weeks of playing and beating the campaign, but now that I can't play till I figure out if I can fix or replace my PlayStation the urge to play is coming back.
In short, someone please go shoot a panther or something for me. Or shoot up all of Valentine.
Granted, maybe it's because I've been playing a loot of shooters on PC lately, but Read Dead Redemption 2 shooting feels a bit, shall we say, floaty to me.
I'm using the default shooting mechanic and basically Arthur will automatically aim at the closest enemy whenever I hold down the related button, then I'm tasked with moving the point of impact where the bullet will cause the best damage (say, the head or the arms).
I'm not saying it's bad, mind you, just that I must get used to.
In truth, I absolutely love the gunplay in this game. It features the best feedback I've seen in ages and, althought I usually don't like to focus on such things, the gore is top notch (it's not uncommon to see bone shards and even eye balls being casted out your unfortunate targets)
Did they patch the gold bar glitch?
How'd you fuck it up?
You can set the autoaim to be less (or even slightly more) aggressive then it is by default. I do this personally as otherwise the game feels too easy, like it's playing itself when it comes to shooting
This. It's been a while since we had a game with this kind of dismemberment.
It's not only a matter of shock value, it's really important to see your enemy face being blown to pieces by a double barrel shotgun, otherwise your gun doesn't feel powerful.
Dealing with rating systems and making games that can appeal to the Esport scene has kinda made gore a rare thing these days, with some exceptions.
This game on the other hand doesn't care, and the result is not tasteless (gore for the sake of having gore) at all.
Hey does anyone have that big list from reddit of RDR2 tricks? Stuff like drawing into deadeye, pressing X/A with your horse gallops to use less stamina or doing a gun-trick while holstering?
I just wanted to ride the train

Dunno what’s funnier—seeing you plow through that entire line of lawmen, or watching your bounty shoot up from $55 to $175 as you did so.
The worst part you can't see is me panicking behind the controls trying to somehow not run them over.
Instead I ended up ringing the damn bell.
My horse got downed and i had no revivers. So i loaded autosave, it had just autosaved. But i refused to get my horse killed for good so i ran to valentine and bought medicine. Stole a horse there to get back as fast as i could. Now i know better to keep some horse medicine around just in case.
I think it was with the PSU casing being improperly placed back into the system. And I managed to strip a screw beyond recognition so I can't get it back out for the life of me. The systems blue light turns on for a second when I try to power up and beeps, but turns off after a second.
Will probably end up picking up a PS4 slim on Black Friday, but I really am praying I'll find some solution.
How the hell do you kill an enemy 80 yards away with a tomahawk?
Homing tomahawks?
Anyone done the uhh.. the serial killer side quests?
Was really disappointed on how quickly it was resolved. Like he gets thrown into jail and then immediately attacks the serriff. Why couldn't he have busted out later and you come back to see bodies everywhere?
In a lot of ways, this kind of feels like a game from 2008 back when every game tried to go for realism, and I like that. Rockstar probably watched this video, and said "hold my drink"
