UNDERTALE/DELTARUNE Megathread V.7 - Don't Forget (about the game)

Could be, but he also says he doesn't know who you are at all. Could be a front, could be he legit doesn't know you seeing as this is apparently a different universe.
I think that's just Toby toying with the player in that sense though. You going around and talking to people in the town is sort of framed as your character going out of his usual zone of staying quiet and alone to engage with people in the town. You, as the player, are doing it out of curiosity and because you recognize the characters from Undertale, however, they aren't exactly the same characters. It's why Undyne doesn't know who Alphys is when you bring her up, and again, why Sans doesn't seem to know who you are.
Sans being Sans and hinting that he knows more than he lets on ("Yeah nice to see you again, considering I just met you ;)") and I'm very excited to see where things go with him.
I still don't buy in that DR is a completely separate universe from UT, DR sets up way to many references to UT just to go "No idea what you're talking about like Catty and Bratty hating each other, Undyne having no idea who Alphys is, Sans quote above, Asgore having 8 flowers all colored like the children's souls in containers only to essentially they're just flowers that are difficult to glow.
Then there's some things in UT that reference DR, the schematic, picture of 3 people and the phrase"Don't forget" in Sans room, Gaster followers mentioning Susy, Gaster mentioning darkness while DR uses Darkness as a major factor.
I'm pretty sure DR is a separate universe but I don't think it's a completely separate continuity from UT

my theory is that this sans is the one from right after you finish a genocide run, he "dies" offscreen but its implied he just teleported, iirc your Kill Counter doesn't go up once you finish the fight
There's been mentions thatthe dark world adventure is some kind of illusion and that it's all a made up story, with every character in that story having ties to some real world object of childhood importance. I.E the boardgames, cards, old toys and the plastic horns Kris wore as a kid. The adventure seems like some story kids would make up when playing with their toys, like the kings in decks of cards being literal kings of various kingdoms and so fourth. Ralsei could very well be based on things like this, having lived basically in Asriels shadow their whole life and wanting to fit in with the monster family they created this character they wished they were when they put the horns on, going from "that creepy kid next door" to a "cute and loveable fluffball just like their brother" and I suppose this would be the point where I'd turn to character and say "In this world nobody can choose who they are."
To talk about something different for a moment I'd like to mention that one of the common leitmotifs that occurs in the game matches up to the credits lyrics of "don't forget, I'll be with you in the dark" then remember how when you go to bed, redeyes mcstabbyface takes over in the "dark" of night. What if this wasn't Kris taking back control but rather us, the player, bringing chara over from the Undertale universe now taking control of Kris. I know Toby said that this is a separate story but there's a LOT of crossover going on that makes it hard not to think he is trying to pull a Kojmia style ruse-cruise on us all.
I can't wait for Sans rematch

i was inspired by a post i saw on reddit
Where exactly those mentions be? We've seen weirder things in the games than a world of creatures based on board games played straight so I wouldn't rule it out. Are you suggesting Ralsei could be Kris' alter ego?
I doubt the darkworld could be straight up make-believe, hard to imagine Susie would be into something like that. The 'ordinary kids pulled into a magical world where they're the chosen ones' is a painfully familiar fiction trope which normally would cast doubt into the realness of the events, but remember that UT took its world seriously despite being a transparent parody of RPGs.
huh where is this stated. the only issue I've had running fullscreen w/ 144hz monitor is the game running super slow if I'm in full screen and I alt tab back and forth. But that's fixed by just turning full screen off and on real quick.
Have I been playing the game at super speed this whole time or something lol. Would explain why Jevil is kicking my ass so badly.
BEHOLD

Not only does he blush, he averts his gaze!
But doesn't the sound effect of monster turning into dust (aka die) play after Sans says his last line off-screen?
By mentions I should probably clarify I mean "theorycrafting on various websites" its not to say they don't make a small degree of sense when looked at but do take them with an indeterminately small quantity of sodium chloride.
i remember seeing somewhere that after you fight him your kill counter doesn't go up, isn't he also known to do weird stuff with time travel/teleporting/ dimensions so it wouldnt be too farfetched
I have a feeling that the real world is like if Gaster tried to restore a post geno-pacifist ending but missed some pieces. You get the main points like the monsters living in the surface, Toriel and Asgore not longer living together, Gerson and the Amalgates eventually dying...but then you get mistakes like Alphys not being together with Undyne, Undyne having two eyes, Catty and Bratty being enemies...and it would explain why we are some sort of inverse Chara ( tiying with what other users said about Toriel and Sans doing their best to keep him under control ).
I wouldn't be surprised if somehow Sans has something to do with this as well. It is just perfect, it fits the "is actually an alternative universe" but with the ties and inconsistencies with UT.
It feels sometimes like in Solaris ( the soviet version, not the hollywood one ) so it would be funny if we get a similar ending :V
Yeah, and here's some thoughts of Toby Fox about DELTARUNE Chapter 1 for you and the others.
i think there's a very important question thats not being asked
WILL WE be able to play Thunder Snail
maybe rename it to Lightning Snail
Only when Bird That Carries You Over A Disproportionately Small Gap is playable
wait shit now it has to carry 3 party members holy smokes
maybe he now owns an airplane
The Bird That Carries Your Party Over A Disproportionately Small Gap In An Airplane He Saved Up For By Working Full-Time At A Pop-Up Halloween Store
Is it weird that I kinda hope Gaster doesn't actually physically appear in the game unless you mess with some lines of code? I feel like he works better as the sort of character that stays in the background and only emerges once you start messing around in his world. His world being the code of the very game itself, the unknown reality. Makes him creepier that way.
I just got to Asgore.
I've never had a game make me feel this shit.
