Hey guys, there's a flash sale on Ebay UK (not sure about the US site) for 10% off but it ends in like half an hour. The code is PINCHME.
I made a perfectly ordinary citizen of the imperium, nothing to see here (head is temporary)

So this is happening

Wow, I am now very jealous of the Helsreach guy, that's pretty much the dream right there...
I still have a chunk of work to do on the missile launcher and cleanup, but this is good enough to post for now. I'll post lots of pictures when he's done, but I'm super pleased with how the green has come out and am glad I stuck with it for so long.

My only real complain about this video is that they confused a hive tyrant for a carnifex at one point.
I went back to my Skitarii conversion and tried a couple different ways of filling in the ribbed armor to make it look a little more like plate. The most successful method so far has been a slurry of sprue dissolved in plastic cement, which produces a viscous mix that I can dab onto the model with a toothpick, and self-levels as it dries. So, I did a few more conversions.
The thing is, I'm not totally sold on the conversion. I was going for a more Storm Trooper look than the stock Skitarii, without the robes and with more visible armor plating, but I'm not sure that I've managed to make them look like Skitarii and not just well-equipped Neophytes. I'm tempted to repurpose/convert these guys into servitors and just go with stock Skitarii models.
What do you guys think?

Finally finished! The comparison shots were from before I finished the missile launcher, but have much better lighting.

I might do one more coat of green on the crotch panel, but that's for another day.
Bottom guys look good, like shock troops but I'm not keen on the top guys with hoods vs long rifles, I think the rifle ones would look better as normal robe dudes.
If you wanted to take your shock troop plate armour a step further you could add a dangling groin plate, like in mk3 armour or like a tech marine has. It'd props mean green stuffing over the existing groin dangler
what were your proportions of sprue:cement?
Thanks, and I think you're right about the hoods not having corresponding robes- I think I might try putting the Sicarian Ruststalker heads on the Rangers (the hooded guys), and go for more of a high-tech gas mask look, and see how that is.
I started at roughly 50/50 and adjusted from there.
Did a headswap on one of the Rangers, using a modified Sicarian Infiltrator head. I like it a lot, think it fits better than the default Ranger helmet, and should look fine alongside the Vanguard sallet helm.

Well at least you're getting usage out of Ruststalker bits considering they're useless otherwise.
Hello ya'll. With the Steam winter sale on at the moment, was thinking of getting Total Warhammer 2. I keep seeing or rather reading that factions you own in Total Warhammer 1 will carry over and will be playable in Warhammer 2. Is this true..? Like I don't want to get Warhammer 2 only to be locked out of stuff because I don't have the first game. I feel like the answer is very obvious but my google-fu isn't very helpful at the moment.
WH2 gives you the "vortex" campaign with ONLY the new base races(+ new DLC races) as playable factions, but you NEED WH1 to play the "mortal empires" campaign which lets you play all of the playable factions on the map which contains the vortex map + the original old world map from WH1.
yes
-the default TWW2 campaign (vortex) only lets you play as the TWW2 base+dlc factions
-the mortal empires campaign will let you play with any owned faction from either game on a large world map
-skirmish/mp battles anything goes
& iirc WH3 will do the same thing with adding on to the mortal empire campaign but who knows how it will interact with ownership of content from the other 2..
Probably the same as the second game. It might be a few months after release before the Mortal Empires campaign comes out. It only took so long in TW:W2 because of mismanagement and having the teams work on what was essentially two different game versions and trying to mash them together, they rectified that around when Tomb Kings came out and production on content became a lot quicker. Some of that is probably wrong but it's just what I remember reading on the official reddit.
So around the first of the year in considering getting this (or something similar) and just filling it with pluck foam to transport models in. Has anyone bought anything similar?

They are seriously coming out swinging with this, pretty sure the only GW spray that doesn't have a direct competitor here is retributor gold.
Nobody seems to make a direct competitor to retributor gold which is annoying because it would make painting my custodes so much easier but I refuse to pay $30 for one can of spray paint.
Army painter has had color sprays for years about 12usd a can.
More shoota boyz, time to not do any more for a month.

I think I might use bigchoppa/double choppa nobz as the melee mob for this army as I dont see myself willingly doing 30+ choppa boyz any time soon.
Got some of the Vic Minis arty guns. Absolutely lovely kit, good detail, basically no cleanup. Reaper Bones is a bit of a pain on the crew, but it's not too terrible.

Time to assemble the other 3 guns.
Harbor Freight sells an airbrush and compressor package for $80, and you can use that to spray whatever you want. It's worth considering.
I don't have space in my current apartment for an air compressor. I'm considering an airbrush come tax time since I'll hopefully have moved by then but until then it's not an option.
Well, the compressor is smaller than a shoebox. I mean, if you've got room for 40K stuff to begin with, you probably have room for a compressor. Airbrushes don't need, like, shop compressors to run.
