In narrative play you don't pay points for summoned units, so you'd be getting an assassin for just 1CP otherwise.
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/02/17/introducing-commissar-severina-raine/
Commissar Raine launches next week, her datasheet is currently up for download and it's kinda weird. She's a Commissar who's priced at one point more than a Lord Commissar, but gets a 4+ armor and -1AP on her pistol, however her melee weapon is Suser AP-1 (so weaker than every melee weapon a Commissar or Lord Commissar could have), on the bright side she makes guardsmen within 6" of her fearless as long as she's in combat.
I want to order some citadel paint, do I have to worry about it freezing on the way to me?
Anyone got any tips on how to accurately mix paints?
Like how to measure "1 drop" without having to commit to the whole "transfer everything to dropper bottles" thing?
Pipettes. You can get a pack of 100 for five bucks on Amazon, or if you're going to college you can usually grab a couple from the chemistry department.
No
Pipettes are one option, but tend to waste paint and generally be a hassle- can you share what you're trying to accomplish by mixing?
I assume you're using GW colors, so mixing generally isn't needed for layering. If you're trying to blend between two colors in a sequence, I'd say you can do that on a palette via brush. If you want to mix up a custom color, it's easier to mix a significant batch in its own pot rather than try to do it on the fly.
If you're regularly doing techniques where you need to measure out specific quantities of different paints, dropper bottles really are the best way to go.
I'm planning on making desert/wasteland bases but I'd like it to be quite desaturated
Like this base

I figured adding in some brown with Slaanesh grey would make a brown grey but it didn't turn out too well and ended up being very warm and pale.
I could definitely have a use for those, will have to pick some up when money is less of a concern.
Gotcha. Looking at the picture, though, I think they've simply drybrushed grey and then white over a brown base. So you could start with a medium brown, wash with black (probably thinned, maybe an ink for definition), drybrush grey, and then drybrush white.
Alternatively, you could start with dark grey, drybrush up to white, and then give it a brown wash to tint it with just a bit of color.
I think you can do what you're going for without the frustration of trying to get consistent mixes.
Aye, I've found this website with base painting guides:

Not sure I trust it 100% since warp tainted lands

Seems to have brown/warm tone in the shadows but the only brown is a Ushabti Bone drybrush.
Gonna give it a shot and see how it turns out
Agree 100% that it should be achievable without mixes and also that the mixing is a frustration.
I don't see any brown in the shadows, but the Ushabti Bone (or more likely Bleached Bone when that article was written) is a warm color, so you're probably getting just a hint of warmth from that over top of the greys.
One other idea would be to start with a medium brown, drybrush a light brown, and then drybrush Ushabti, and finish with a black wash. Using black as a wash will help desaturate it, but it'll be a little more badlands and a little less ash waste.
If you have a decent selection of paints on hand, it's probably worthwhile to whip up a few bases and just try out different techniques.
No idea if this is real or a fake but it's supposedly from Vigilus II.

So in completely unrelated and fucking surpising news that just about flipped me upside down and inside out.
Both the Space Marine and Dawn Of War 2/Retribution soundtracks are now available on FUCKING VINYL from Laced Records (I've ordered the Hotline Miami vinyl from them in the past and it is of excellent shape and quality)
You'll have to excuse my language but what the fuck, I saw maybe a single Facebook post mentioning it with 4 likes and an article or two?
I don't even think GW themselves made a post mentioning it....
I'm just completely dumbfounded by this discovery.

oh my god its been almost 10 years since dawn of war 2 came out. what da fuk.
The music in Dow2 is some of my favorite Warhammer anything. It's so good.

the DoW2 soundtrack is lit, and so is the Space Marine one

The tune that plays in the intro of Space Marine was great. Gave me goosebumps the first time I watched it.

For all the criticism Space Marine got for being a mediocre beat-em-up, I really enjoyed how it portrayed this little slice of the 40k universe and it's characters.
That DoW2 OST Vinyl is only for base DoW2, and doesn't include music from expansions, right?
It has CR for sure, and it looks like retri as well.

I am gonna take a break and probably paint some AoS stuff, would this be the appropriate thread for talking about that stuff or is there an AoS thread?
Rally anything miniature or wargamming related is fair game here.
Uhh so it looks like forgeworld has brought back the renegade psyker
Thaetos 23
They showed him off at the last HH weekender. But yea it's literally the renegade psyker that they took down just without some chaosy bits

I really enjoyed Space Marine, but I remember reading some details of the planned sequels and they sounded terrible. Nevertheless, I think it is one of the best games to nail the atmosphere of the Warhammer 40K universe, alongside Mechanicus now.
I've been spending the past week doing 3d printing, and what do I have to show for it? A goddamn Malcador Infernus, that's what!

The left tread came out way better than the right (spoilers: none of the tabs fit, so I had to remove them). I will probably reprint the right in the future, but for now I have a game today. Also, the color changes because I used different resins in the printing process. It's a bit ugly, but overall it came out pretty much perfect.
