ResertEra isn't as bad as ya'll trying to make it out to be, ya morons This is literally a overreaction, ResertEra may be sensitive, but they are not that sensitive Also, Nintendo would had probably removed it in the first place, if nobody noticed, there is a reason why they have localizers in the studios while in development

I can't fucking wait till protagonist of new Fire Emblem that no one has played because it's not even out gets added.
30 days lads
Hell, that’s how we got Roy, and his game wasn’t even localized.
Crossing my fingers they are a Lord, primarily use a sword, and their down special special is some kind of counter attack.
If it has a unique and interesting moveset I wouldn't mind too much. It's why I wasn't that mad at Coirrin.
i think that if sm4sh had released one year later Robin wouldn't even be in the game, and Corrin would've taken their place. That's the problem with not giving the game time to breathe with its roster - Robin has a cool, unique moveset and gimmick, and is one of the first characters to have different gendered alt palettes, but unlike marth, roy, and ike, who all had years to really stick into peoples' heads (in terms of smash), they were overshadowed in about 2 years by Corrin.
You know I think removing the feather and whatnot is fine but uh, ResetEra is actually that bad from what I've seen. Like I see a lot of level headed people get banned for wrong think and the moderation flipping the fuck out at whoever disagrees with them. I don't really have a horse in that race as I don't go there but it's literally just Gaf 2.0
I'm sick of goddamn fucking Down Special Counters. They need to stop putting these on characters.
I'll accept things more like Incineroar's setup with Revenge. Although I'm not sure how to do the hit ---> counter in other ways beyond hit ---> damage is reflected and hit ---> damage is now increased for an attack.
I actually don't mind them much on K. Rool and Incineroar. K. Rool because at least it's a heavyweight getting a counter. Incineroar because it's not exactly a counter and is at least something a bit different. Other characters? Yeah, it's annoying. Maybe my bias is showing.
I agree with this sentiment but more generally (counters as a move). In Melee, only 3 characters had counters (Roy, Peach, Marth), one of which was a clone/echo fighter. In Ultimate: Peach, Greninja, Marth, Roy, Ike, Lucina, Corrin, Shulk, Little Mac, Palutena, Bayonetta, Incineroar, Daisy, K. Rool, Mii Gunner, Mii Swordfighter. 16 fighters. Feel free to name any that I missed. It's getting pretty tiring seeing so many fucking counters, especially since a majority of them are "if you hit a counter, you just get dealt damage and knockback". If the moves had interesting or unique functions, I wouldn't even have a problem with them. Lots of characters have projectiles too, but at least they're usually all different. I will give Sakurai credit for giving Robin a cool and unique downspecial instead of just sticking a counter on them like they did with literally every other FE rep.
You can get creative with alternative counters. Like one that has very little damage but high knockback, the opposite of Focus Punch. Or one that makes the opponent pass by you and trip, like baiting a charging bull. Imagine a counter that led into a command grab...
Mii Brawler has that now. Either it's a new addition and means he has four down specials to choose from, or it replaced one of his previous down specials.

Isn't Roy the worst Lord in the series too, stats wise?
They should remake Roy and Eliwood's games in a 2x1 package. Expanding on Roy's, for sure.
Fire Emblem Echoes has it's flaws but it was a really good remake. If Roy games gets that same treatment, i'm down for it.
I have to say, Smash is responsible for me delving into a lot of games I might not have tried or even heard of, just by having their characters be fun to play. Ike got me curious enough to track down and play Path Of Radiance, and I had a great time with it, leading into me playing Awakening and getting hype for Robin. Bayonetta being fun as hell to play convinced me to get off my ass and actually play her games, and they're awesome! Even all the way back in the first Smash game, I had never even heard of Metroid but wound up checking it out because of Samus.
Smash got me into the Mother series, so I can't disagree.
Shame people won't be able to experience Castlevania: Rondo of Blood nor Symphony of the Night. Actually, is there any Castlevania games on the NES on Switch? I'm noy subscribed until Smash gets released so I don't recall on top of my head.
That's the primary reason of many companies wanting their characters in Smash. It pushes their sales too. It's not always just about wanting it for the sake of having an interesting third party character.
If any of you doubt this, just look at Corrin. The ONLY reason he got added is to promote Fates.
I would kill for a bundled remake of Blazing and Binding Blade.
I had already heard of Earthbound from friends, but their description of it didn't really grab me. But when I played Melee and saw the Onett and Fourside stages, I thought they were really cool and different to what I was expecting. All I had ever heard about Earthbound was the weird parts like Saturn Valley and Lost Underworld, which made it sound like the whole game was just nonsensical settings and scenarios. Getting to see the more grounded places and themes actually made the game more appealing to me, especially since their rendition of Onett reminded me a lot of the town I myself grew up in. They made it feel more human, and that's what finally pulled me in.
Smash is the only reason I got into Metroid and why I'm eagerly awaiting Prime 4.
I’m just miffed that it gets more unique representation than Zelda. phantom Ganon should have the weird Falcon move set while the FUCKING WIZARD should get his own
In his defense, Ganon being able to do 10%+ with a single slap to the face isn't exactly unfitting for the holder of the Triforce of Power. Something about how brutal all of his moves feel when they connect, especially his Dair... It's hard to not grin just as wide as Dorf himself each and every time. It makes you feel, well, POWERFUL.
At this point I've accepted Falcondorf, and I think it's much more appropriate now that his OoT design has returned. It's so satisfying to land his heavier hits. Although I would love more Zelda characters. Skull Kid was my #1, but at this rate I'll take him, Zant, Ghirahim, or even Impa. (I know 2/4 are assist trophies, but whatever.) Zelda just doesn't seem to get the attention it deserves in spite of its popularity. At least it got a new stage in Ultimate, an honor held only by it, Mario, and the newly represented franchises.
