After watching some footage I ought to say that the amount of cinematic final smashes seems counterproductive to their initial goal of shortening their time to "keep the gameflow going" - especially with the final smash meter.
These cinematics sometimes take up to like 6 seconds of you quite literally just watching a cutscene and with the amount of time they happen, it seems quite awkward.
To be honest they’re no different in lenght compare to other fighting games Supers.
I'll take 6 second cinematics over Super Sonic and Landmasters if we're talking about ruining flow.
Would you rather have 1 Super Sonic/Landmaster every 2 minutes or (In a 4 player scenario) 4 6 second cinematic animations every minute?
I'd still go with the 4 6 second cinematic animations cause they look sick af and I love them.
That's not freefall, it's a different animation.
Characters glow when in freefall.

You can see him in actual freefall at 1:36.
If I was to guess, the endlag is absolutely massive, probably way larger than intended as a glitch.
I'm liking Yoshi's newer animations. He always felt a bit janky in Smash, but with every iteration they get closer and closer to how he actually looks and acts.

I don't think I've ever gasped at a match's ending in Smash Bros before. Young Link is looking good, nice to see his voice from OOT and MM being used again.
Here's two of Incineroar's victory poses

that YLink kicked ass, he even managed to keep Ike at bay while slowed down.
Oh man, YLink's final smash may not be anything special, but the final motion looks painful.
He mad! Fierce mad!
With the way they seem to be pushing Ultimate as a more competitive Smash game than 4, I feel like Nintendo would be leaving money on the table if they didn't keep things alive with multiple seasons of DLC.
With how well the Switch is selling, they could easily keep the scene alive for years to come, the same way other fighting game devs do. Imagine eventually turning on Smash Ultimate and seeing a roster of 100 characters staring back at you.
