Looking forward to Jerma's patch notes in Ultimate. Hope they didn't shorten him again.
anyone else going to be playing ultimate with a GC controller they've had for waaaay too long? mine is from, like, 2003...
I have a Wavebird from back in the day that has yet to fail me
Piranha Plant is love. Piranha Plant is life. I also like that his abbreviation is Peepee.
my plant letter was in the spam folder what the fuck google I almost got my code deleted
I wish i still had my old silver GC Controllers. I got rid of them and the Wii, Gamecube, et cetera well over 10 years ago. Bad habit of selling my game consoles to gamestop when i no longer played them to actually have money cause poor 15 year old blah blah. It's funny, the purple one in the picture i took is actually one i bought off an irl friend when i got really into PM right before sm4sh WiiU hit. Though at this point, i'd probably just get a custom GC done, probably in pink ROB colors. I do love the spice orange one, though. Hell, if i ever get my fucking custom hitbox that i've been waiting on for ~3 months, i might never use a GC controller again.
Hmm, I don't know if I necessarily agree with the whole Bowser Bomb causing a spike, mainly because it causes a conflict with Bowser's original usage of the move and the point of Down Air. Of course, Bowser Bomb was meant to be used as a Shield Break move, but it also had its fair use in being able to be a nice kill confirm sometimes. But now, if it causes a spike, people can just tech the move and easily punish Bowser right after. It doesn't even seem to do that much knock back, so it loses it's kill power too. Plus Down Air was already a move that would let Bowser drop down and spike his opponents, what's the point of giving his Down B the same thing? Maybe it's so you can grab the ledge while also spiking your opponent from underneath, but it seems somewhat unnecessary to hinder the other usages of the move for a situational one. Hopefully, this is just a property that's applied to the air version of it only.
mines from 2002 and I'm not sure the rubber grip on the main analog is gonna give a good grip anymore
This is straight out of a Looney Tunes cartoon. https://66.media.tumblr.com/8b6d4190e5e7020306477cc6e14c4fe2/tumblr_inline_pi7rs8ZQOH1s4iq7p_540.gif
I also have one from 2003 that I got when I bought the Gamecube with the Legend of Zelda 4-Pack game bundled in (also got Metroid Prime). Still hold up pretty good.

Was talking it over with a friend and we had some hawt predictions for the DLC. We know that Bethesda has talked to Nintendo about Smash representation. Now, Doom has a history with Nintendo, reaching all the way back to the SNES, and the upcoming Doom game would be a juicy opportunity for cross promotion. However, Skyrim is the Bethesda game with the biggest following in Japan, and the Switch getting a portable version of it was a big selling point. Rumors have pointed to Vault Boy, but Fallout doesn't really have much history with Nintendo. Right now, we're giving equal odds to Doomguy and Dovakhin with Vault Boy less likely. Toby Fox talked to Nintendo executives in Japan, but that was probably just about the Switch port. We know that Sakurai prefers to put in player characters over side characters, but Frisk isn't a good fit for a fighting game in that case. In the unlikely event that Undertale does get a Smash rep, it'll probably be Sans. A new Fire Emblem rep is just a given. Assuming that secretive meeting between Nintendo and Microsoft was about Smash, I'm banking on Banjo. Mojang has said no one has talked to him about Smash while Phil Spencer has been a bit more coy. So with all that in mind, I'm personally betting on Doomguy, Fire Emblem rep, Banjo-Kazooie, and... I dunno, Rayman.
As far as Bethesda reps go I don't really think I'd want anyone other than Doomguy. Just throw in Doomslayer with a Deathclaw or Vault Boy assist trophy with Dovakhiin Mii Swordfighter and Vault Tech/Vault Boy Mii Gunner outfits.
Doomguy with a Dragonborn assist trophy would be the best Bethesda representation. Or Commander Keen.
Sakurai has once called John Carmack the "father" of the FPS genre so I feel that further puts the odds in Doomguy's favor.
I personally think a Skyrim rep would be the best way to go, as I think I heard that Skyrim was also popular in Japan whereas Doomguy/the Doom series is niche over there. Plus, the fantasy themes of Skyrim would probably be a better fit for Smash as opposed to the violence of Doom. (Yes, I know Skyrim also has violence, as does Bayonetta/MGS/etc, but those games have it to a lesser degree than Doom.)
You pre-purchase The Fighter pack. The first fighter is announced to be Dovakhiin. His release date finally comes. You select his stage and you select him as the fighter. Screen fades to black "So you're finally awake huh"
I can't be the only one more excited to play Smash in handheld mode or with the Pro Controller than with the GC pad again. I still play Melee, so using the GC controller to play other Smash games fucks with my muscle memory. I played Smash4 with the WiiU Pro and it was great.
Is the limited edition for Smash worth it? I don't have the GC controller adapter and I dunno if the controller is as good as my trusty OG controllers, tho one of them was ruined by my brother bc he destroyed the rubber of the control stick, so I guess it'll be a good replacement

I'm looking forward to using the Pro Controller more. I've played the demo twice and both times we were limited to Pro Controllers, but it felt really comfortable to use for Smash. I'm probably still gonna keep using the GCN as my main controller just because it's what I'm used to, but if GCN controllers weren't available for whatever reason I'd happily use the Pro Controller
I've got nothing but the default joycons so I'm hoping those will work fine.
The comfort grip that came with your system is more than enough for most, unless you have gigantic monster mitts like I do

jfc could this guy stretch out his blocked content any more? He took like 3 minutes to explain that he was going to talk about what's clearly in the title of the video
Statistics show that when it comes to unreleased games, longer videos get more attention than shorter ones, as most viewers associate length with content, and those excited for an upcoming game want to see as much content as possible. This is often why videos from channels like GameXplain are so drawn out and devoid of new information, yet are visually busy or flashy. Viewers looking for specific things will skip around in the video (which still counts as a view for analytics), and many others will watch to the end just because it's long and they've clicked on it, so they might as well (sunk cost fallacy). That second category is what generates the most ad revenue too, since if a video is over a certain length it can serve multiple ads instead of just one.
