I'm disappointed in Bowser Jr.'s preposterous nerfs, but K. Rool looks very promising indeed.
I think he was just joking about them being arguably the most well-designed Smash moveset put out in terms of being fun to use and flexibility. I know that's how I feel.
That wouldn't be a problem if she worked more like a stance character. I'd like to see her with the ability to cancel normals into transform with it being just quick enough to get transform combos off of strong launches.
I for one really hope they use win/loss metrics for each character, in conjunction with replays and other stats, to address balance
I hope they look at nothing but tournament results for balance, but unfortunately they already said they'd look at high rank online.
This gives absolutely zero data for characters people aren't playing.
The fact nobody's playing them at tourney isn't good enough. Why? What do they need?
Generating absolutely useless data for literally every character. For the purposes of reaction, the startup of every move has latency (in frames) subtracted from it online. In USF4, Ibuki has a 15f startup low slide special (think Cloud dtilt) that is perfectly balanced offline and notoriously abusable online. In the situation you described, they should probably talk to top players about what makes the unused characters bad.
Randomly matched online results are just garbage and will miss so many major factors when it comes to balancing characters. If Elite Battles were in Sm4sh we would've seen Little Mac and Link eat collosal shit in patches when they are actually extremely mediocre.
Watching online replays can help an internal balance testing team create many more lab scenarios, which are vital in the testing and constant re-testing of proposed changes.
They notice X almost always loses to Y
They collect as many X versus Y matches as they can
They recreate the most noteworthy scenarios from what they collected, either using input emulation or human testers
They start changing values that have to do with how these scenarios played out, replaying these moments until they end differently
They make further refinement based on tester feedback regarding this initial "overkill" change, and test again
They publish the final iteration of this change alongside many other changes made by following this same process
AFAIK this is the most popular way to balance something with a huge roster. MOBA games often do it this way, even before they ask the community for feedback.
My housemate joked that he would just keep losing with Falcon 24/7 to buff him to fuck.
If you preloaded the game already, check your email. I just got sent my Piranha Plant DLC code sent to me.
Damn, thought I said Hyrule Warriors/BOTW Sheikah Sheik. Guess I was really tired. But yea you right
Are we sure Bowser Jr. got nerfed? Some dude in the smashrbos subreddit is advocating that he got buffed, actually, and that the nerfs are only superficial.
Ganon in PM is the most fun I've had playing a fighting game.
I just wished his Side B in Ultimate didn't left him in freefall.

Sounds somwhat possible, but it also seems very unlikely. I mean the Direct did say they were creating DLC characters from the ground-up, right?
They could still make a Springman from the ground up and change the trophy variant into another identical character, if they really wanted to. Same concept could apply to all the other Assist characters, honestly.
Doubt it'd actually happen, but you never know.
Would be a lot more interesting if that had actually happened and not been brought up by some random joe schmoe
I would rather see Max Brass or Helix if we're getting someone from ARMS. Their gimmicks are a bit more interesting than Spring Man's.
Brawlhalla is out today on the Switch btw for anyone who cares, comes with Rayman too.
Rival of Aether's Shovel Knight DLC came out a few weeks ago too, and Lethal League Blaze has been out for about a week.
If people really wanna scratch a smash itch but don't feel like going with Sm4sh or PM, I'd highly recommend any of these three games, especially LL Blaze. They're all a good time for people who love the more casual goofy Smash gameplay.
I'd like to throw in my recommendation fro Lethal League Blaze as well. It scratches a similar itch as Smash Bros does for me, whilst being different enough that I'm not just thinking about how much I want to play Smash Ultimate.
i raise you some funky fresh beats
aint nothing like a funky beat
It makes sense kirby survived since he has the warp star. The trailer had alot of neat interactions too and I dont believe sakuri is just being favoritist.
Who else do you think could have survived?
Nobody, because Kirby was the only character that survived
Well some of them were suprised and caught off guard, hell it almos caught kirby too. Plus Im not sure everyone was present.
As others have said, maybe Sonic could've outrun the light beams if he wasn't trying to save people, but who knows how long he'd be able to outrun it.
