That is pretty much what happened I'd wager. Chrom already had a model comparable in quality to playable characters in 4, so, basically, when Robin was done, "what if we made an echo out of Chrom" happened. But yeah, I wouldn't mind getting that shit patched out.

They should make it where if Robin wins a match and Chrom was one of the losers, his clapping box should be empty

Has there so far been a Classic Mode showcase till the end that *didnt* have a boss at the end? The implications strike me as pretty huge, and with things such as race to the end are back, the potential implications are massive. Shame the points seem to be arbitrary, though.

They'd better at least have Guidances for the Sm4sh DLC characters, since they cheaped out on us back then.

Bosses at the end aren't unique. Falcon fights Giga Bowser for example in his "Quest to defeat Strong Guys" theme

I hope they repurpose Metal Face and Yellow Devil for Shulk and Mega Man's boss fights, respectively.
