Nintendo did announce that they are going to be focusing on DLC more for their big titles, so really, I feel like Ultimate will last a good few years in terms of DLC.
Not milking Ultimate, which will likely be THE Nintendo game especially as far as esport shit goes would be an awful business decision
There's just so much they could do in terms of DLC. Echo fighters, alt costumes, even game modes would all sell like hotcakes.
I'd also be surprised if they didn't do DLC after the first batch, but I also expected them to do more than one batch of DLC for Mario Kart 8.
Was someone here asking for Young Link? https://twitter.com/Greward3/status/1059051605402750976 Damascio's Young Link footage analysis + other notes (Nov 4, 201..
Honestly I could see them doing a single player expansion akin to Splatoon 2's. Personally I'd like something more akin to the adventure mode's side scrolling levels. Maybe it could be designed to scale into intense difficulties and be playable for four players. I'm really wanting something that can be played as a beatemup of fighting hordes of enemies and bosses.
Nintendo are hardly immune to those.
I dunno how much truth there is to it, but I was led to believe that MK8 and Smash 4 didn't get more DLC support because the Wii U itself was seen as a sinking ship, which I imagine won't be the case this time.

I'm aware, but they ought to be pants-on-head blind to pass this one up. Maybe the fact that the "50% of switch users have the online garbage" will shoot up to "80%" should be a pretty good indicator.
I get what you mean but that'd be like getting Zangief or Sagat instead of Ryu, for Street Fighter.
why did they have to choose this screenshot
?
it's loss
What? That’s bullshit, you must spend too much time on—OOOOH NOO
That makes sense, but they also haven't done anything with Deluxe since it came out.
I still really hope we get Assist Trophy upgrades in a later wave. Even though I highly suspect most or all of Wave 1's DLC will be third-party, I still want more Nintendo characters if we are getting additional and a lot of the best picks are currently in AT hell.
Because they're under a NDA to not reveal playable Bathtub Geralt for Smash
O nice. Shortly after the K rool reveal, a fan wrote up a big thank you letter and had a fuck ton of people sign it and mail it to Nintendo. He just got a reply back https://mobile.twitter.com/BringBackKRool/status/1059523712838459392 https://mobile.twitter.com/BringBackKRool/status/1059523943126700033
Actually not true, they added a BOTW promo bike to it and a second Link costume. There's a legitimate possibility they might add more. They'd be daft not to, despite being a glorified port with a proper battle mode from over a year ago, it still in the top 10 weekly sales as of late September, approaching 10 million units very soon. (For perspective, it did less than 8 million on the Wii U) It's possible though that they might pull a Torna/Luigi U and just release a massive DLC bonus pack in a physical case, etc, since realistically that'd be a bigger benefit than making Mario Kart 9 at this point, both lucratively and in terms of development time.
Seriously tho, I want Birdo and Diddy Kong before yet another metallic character.
Metallic...?
I assume they mean for Mario Kart, like Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach.
Neat detail, probably already mentioned, Wii Fit trainer does the Tree Pose in the WoL trailer, which would allow you to dodge attacks if timed properly.
I had no idea Galeem's name in japanese was Kira, makes perfect sense tho because it apparently loves hands, it has no visible weaknesses and everyone in the trailer bites the dust

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zCvoSjY9cY Neat little things I noticed on Ryu's Classic Mode: All stages are in Final Destination Mode with Stamina. Zero Suit Samus is a reference to Chun-Li as well as fighting in Onett (Downtown China) When he was fighting Samus, Chun-li's Stage theme is playing instead of Earthboud music (you can see it on the top corner). That's freaking amazing callback to the original game. Won't be surprised of Little Mac is Balrog, Incineroar is Zangief, DK is Blanka and Ganondorf is M. Bison. Won't be surprised if Ken's Classic is the same but with different fighters, like King K. Rool as E. Honda and Wii Fit Trainer as Dhaslim.
That was going around a few days ago, but yeah - it seems Classic mode campaigns (or at least special ones like Ryu) will get the same special treatment that Spirits mode matches get. They're going all out with using the different gameplay parameters to their advantage. I hope (but doubt) that Coin matches return, as that would add even more potential.
Personally I'm not a fan. I wish they would stop messing with Classic Mode. It's "Classic" Mode, it's not classic if you force a changed formula onto it.
Wario would all be coin battles for sure.
