Fallout General X - V38 - I Could Make You Care About FO76

well they "bandaided" it by locking framerate to 63
I’m guessing last week’s patch was the PC’s day one patch.
Fallout 76 is undeniably 'something' to play. The world of mechanics from Fallout 4 is there. Shooting, looting. It's just, the narrative world of Fallout is entirely absent. There's almost no narrative push to do anything the player is doing, no context that justifies what is really pretty basic shooting and pretty basic looting.
If you honestly found it enjoyable playing a walking human vacuum cleaner, slaughtering everything in sight and sucking up vasts amount of garbage, then 76 probably won't let you down. But there being almost no context to anything, and everything being so abstracted, it really drained any enjoyment I could find in it. Every location is the same when you break it down to the basics, worse than Fallout 4.
Walk near a building. Get a quest to go check it out. Do so, and your player randomly receives caps, chems and ammo out of thin air. Then, you can search for the lootbox. The enemies to kill. Maybe pick up another quest, which, by the way, a dead person is going to give to you. Without fail. You do that quest and maybe it takes you to a unique location, where you can find another dead quest giver. Then after you complete that quest?
Receive caps, chems and ammo out of thin air. Rinse and repeat. I couldn't stomach it.
so is the atomic shop on any kind of system? like a daily/weekly thing?
because compared to everything that was shown in the files, this is a pretty small selection.
Secret tip #76
You can destroy locked doors or chests by simply shooting it. Although items in chest will disappear.
I played it for 40 minutes this morning and I was already getting bored, it feels so grindy
when i launch the game, it says: This account lacks the proper login credentials (or something to that effect). I hit the retry button underneath, and I get a second error, that just states: Unknown error
I already validated game files, and made and tried to follow this site's advice (although those lines weren't present for me): Fallout 76 Login Failed Fix
Game keeps giving me nuke code, I got 2 of these in the 30 minutes

you can't do anything with them until you join the enclave and complete their full quest-line
And the codes auto-destruct after a week of not being used

In retrospect, Bethesda adding a photomode is probably the best thing to happen to the game.
Also, I found the bee monster. It's called a Honey-Beast

Those motherfuckers drop so much adhesive, i was farming them back in the beta and got like 100 raw adhesive
Unfortunately i got fucking RAPED by not ONE, not TWO, but THREE YAO GUAI'S.

And the worst part of it, not only did i drop it the l00t, but i SPAWNED next to these motherfuckers, and had to proceed DYING, RESPAWNING AND SLOWLY KILLING THEM, FOR 20 MINUTES.
Eventually, when everything cooled down, i lost the adhesive in the confusion & anger.
Oh, forgot to mention, all my weapons broke. And i got no adhesive. Fun!
Trust me, that thing crawling up on you is the least scary thing you can encounter.
There’s a random encounter with the mothmanwhere he’s literally watching you from your blind spot and immediately takes off in a puff of smoke . That got me spraying at the dust for a second or too.
I am loving 76.
Me and a friend stumbled into a super cool quest line.
We found a cave with three deathclaws in it. I reasoned there HAD to be something good in there. We ended up killing them after using up a lot of stumpaks and ammo. We found the body of some dead secret agent which had a holotape to hack into this bunker in the cave. This led us down there where we had to complete a puzzle to get further in. Here we found a keypad in a room with tons of filing cabinets. We tried every number on every document but nothing worked. Eventualy we found that every entry on this terminal in the room had dates. We didnt want to enter every date, so we figured that the entry on the death of the terminal owner's wife could be at, as it was the only one with personal signifigance. And we were correct! We got a deathclaw gauntlet and an invitation to join a secret society for our efforts. Said secret society turned out to be a prototype version of the enclave. To my shock, it didn't feel heavy handed or forced in at all. It was a slow reveal that didnt rub your face in the fact that its the enclave.
I actually really like that way of joining the enclave, rewarding diligent players with early entry to an op faction is great design.
Plus you can easily do the power armor wall glitch to get into the general only area without having to do any of the general quests
Wow so they brought that mods feature across from 4, wonder if they'll add in the bashing terminals to unlock them too.
What the fuck I just found the alien blaster after I posted that. It was just in an open safe in a blown up house under some toxic water.

Its where my cursor is, next to the butterfly. You know you found the right blown up house when you find a bathtub with a damaged radiation suit and an alien toy in it. Its very close to that under the water.
First I accidentally find the enclave, now I'm accidentally finding alien tech. What the fuck
If you like Ark and otherwise just exploring, looting, building and getting shit done you'll like it, it's better with friend but what isn't?
It could be much more if they had NPCs for narrative and 'dungeon' places to incentivize grouping as a sort of soft end-game.
Its just hovering in place. I went directly under it but nothing is here.

Vertibirds drop off the government supply drops IIRCs.
They're vertibots. Nobody's piloting them. They just fly around certain locations or just around the map randomly from what I've seen.
The alien blaster does 14 damage per shot. Wow that's sad.
I cancelled the preorder because none of my friends want to play it at release and playing it alone seems counter-intuitive.
I'll wait until it hopefully gets more content and is ironed out a little bit more.
Nah, the supply drones are different to Vertibots. They have 4 smaller rotors and no cabin area. The Vertibots are just Vertibirds with AI systems, they still have the normal Vertibird stuff.
what level is it?
In love with how utterly busted shotguns are, not only do they take out the trash when you get flooded with scorched but they absolutely wreck other players.
Had a level 30 (im 12) coming for my dick after accidentally killing someone, every single time he'd start blazing away with his 10mm smg and i'd just scoot around some cover and 1 shot him in the face.
He only gave up after I used a stealth boy to sneak behind him and blast his ass without even knowing I was there.
The files are in the computer?
i mean shit i'm waiting for the game to drop price
i just don't have the means to afford a brand new $80 CAD game right now considering christmas is coming up and my job keeps cutting hours because i'm a student and not full time.
the game looks fine, but not $80+none of my friends are interested in it fine.
It's %12 off on Greenman gaming right now, and black friday is next week might get even cheaper.
