Jokes on you Howard, I got it on the grey market!
Honestly I've really warmed up to the no NPC thing. Thought for sure it'd kill the lore and that I'd get tired of the quests without any human factor to interact with, but I'm finding it much more compelling story-wise than F4. The flooded town and the stuff about AMS vs. Harlowe or whatever it is was really cool. So far I'm having a blast, I went in with low expectations and have been thoroughly impressed. My only complaints right now are the stash size issue.. again, no idea what they were thinking. They said in the update announcement that it's due to technical reasons, limiting number of items the server keeps track of.. which sounds like horseshit to me, the server is just going to keep track of a number associated with each item entry no? It's irritating that they won't just change the number in Mondays update ffs. Blueprints are also frustrating and useless imo, I thought the whole point was that you could build a base, save it, and plop it down whenever you move your camp.. for free. Instead it makes you pay the material cost all over again. Again, what the fuck is Beth thinking??
Don't use the blueprints tab to recreate your base, use the 'stored tab'.
The no NPC thing makes a lot of sense with the lore, Appalachia is just a shit place to be and it's hostile as fuck. Given the time period it makes sense that the inhabitants haven't adapted either.
Yeah I know, it's just irritating having to manually put it up again. It's like, what's the point of blueprints if I'm never going to use them?
Huh? Then why were you complaining about material costs? The stored base should be your entire base.
Yeah I really came around once I saw that they really worked on the lore to make it almost inevitable that there is nobody around. I'd still prefer there be some pockets of humanity, but I can appreciate what they're going for. I feel like the writing in 76 might be the best so far in Beth Fallouts so far just because it's so critical here. The voice acting is far and away the best I've heard in a Beth game, and the scripts sound like real dialogue rather than cliche "video game speak".
Pick up and store the pieces of your base and you won't have to spend resources to blueprint and plop it down you friggin big dummy
I think I know what's happening in your game. Sometimes, when I move a camp, my one blueprint for a shack still exists in the Blueprints tab to be built at cost, but in the Stored tab, the blueprint gets broken up into six or seven smaller blueprints, each with one or a couple of items together that when combined make up the original structure. But after I combine them once, then for the rest of the session they stay together as one blueprint in the Stored tab, to be built for free as intended. Not sure why it keeps happening to you, but have you tried combining all those pieces? It might "stick" again, as it were. Regardless, you're right that the system is clearly bugged at the moment, or at the very least, obscure and underexplained, because I don't know what it is that's causing my blueprints to be broken up either.
If anybody is looking for a good source of fusion cores and hasn't found one yet, for a total of 100 power you can charge the fusion core processor at Poseidon power plant on the bottom left of the map and get 12 an hour. Apparently you can boot up the factory to make this an easier process but I couldn't figure it out while I was there, it might be tied to an event.
Let's talk mods. FO76 assets -> FO4?
Yeah, it's called Powering Up Poseidon, it's an event. It's kind of a slog though, takes about twenty minutes on your own and requires you to run and jump around three sections of the plant, some interiors, mashing E on broken control consoles and coolant pipes. All the while respawning Scorched are harassing you--at least, that's how it was when I encountered it in the beta. It's tedious but it gets you control of the workshop, which provides some power I guess?
had a cool thing happen in game. which I don't know if it's a glitch or not. Was walking along in the Mire, ran across three deathclaws and tried my best to avoid them. Suddenly see a horde of scorched and a scorchbeast. However, their names were all white instead of red. They killed the deathclaws, and completely ignorned me, not even attacking me when I got up close.
max gambling skill in fallout nevada might be a little broken https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/114616/042e7a00-683e-45a6-9c99-ad70a8e13234/falloutnevada.png
Anything that isn't models and animations, probably. Models right now, no.
You may have found it already in the game, but can we talk about how there's a Spear in Fallout 76? With a proper stab animation and everything? Because I can't believe that Fallout got spears before The Elder Scrolls.
I just found a Salvaged Assaultron Head, the beam laser weapon they introduced in the Fallout 4 DLC, and it consumed all of my 716 fusion cells in one shot.
Yeah I had this happen too. I didn't even charge it up, all my ammo gone in one test shot. Thanks Bethesda.
You can't tell, because this is a text medium but I am so fucking mad Spears are my favourite weapon and way back when they had that dev showcase for Skyrim it featured a spear. I was so happy, but they never introduced it. And I fucking BET that despite them having it working we will not see this in TES 6
spears are a historically accurate weapon for many dark ages civilizations. after all, they're simple but extremely effective to create and maintain.
I got into a fight for control of the Poseidon Nuclear Power Plant and me and the other player managed to talk eachother down. He just wanted the fusion core fab and I wanted the lead so we compromised
I have so much fucking alloy and lead I don't know what to do with it. The thing I'm always lacking is fucking adhesive, like seriously why does everything fucking use it? https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/955222215573129621/A64482C44BD107378A2C711D12E9D78DE0EB826C/
so thats where the speech checks went
That reminds me, I haven't seen anyone mention this in this thread yet, but there are actually some skill checks in Fallout 76. At least, I can only assume there's some. I managed to observe exactly one, a daily event thingy that has you dispose of toxic barrels from a lake. Usually you need to bring them all to a location, but with 5(?) agility points, you can simply 'sink' them. That was great, except both times I did it, attempting to sink 3/3 barrels simply broke the quest. I needed to only sink 2 of them and carry the remaining one off to the drop point as usual, completely invalidating the check in the first place.

Pip-Boy 2000 Mk VI at Fallout New Vegas - mods and community New Pip-Boy 2000 Mk VI with custom meshes, textures and working clock (only .esp version and optional .esp for replacer). Almost exact reconstruction of what you saw in Fallout 76 Some words about optional files: - Letters glowmap: add glowing to the STAT/ITEM/DATA painted letters for better navigation in very dark places. - Working date and clock for replacer: just scripts by ZuTheSkunk that makes clock in our Pip-Boys work. Look on it like Plug-In re-placer version. NVSE needed. Ask if you really need Non NVSE copy of this file (in that case letters will not glow).
I found the Eyed Piper, leading some rad rats through Charleston. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/57978/6e3fe6f6-d8a0-48ed-8826-a5b5fb847ce6/The Eyed Piper.webm I also had to kill that Grafton monster to the right, to protect the rats.
Are you playing on PC? I'm not trying to be sassy here, but if so, you should totally just pirate them instead. Super easy to download, only as buggy as their actual releases, and you don't encourage the Creation Club. You don't want to encourage the Creation Club do you? Who knows how powerful Todd may become if he can finally fulfill his dream of porting Skyrim to the Creation Club?
So anyone who's interested in a moderator position for the Fallout 76 Discord: PM me on Discord, you'll see me as my Facepunch name on Facepunch's server. The only real qualification is that I know you from some of the threads. If no one asks in a few days then I'll just be the sole moderator.
Well I must say I'm having a fun time. https://puu.sh/C3Hv4/0beb9d528f.png https://puu.sh/C3HtZ/a5cd268e94.png
