I just don't see how 76 isn't going to be ruined by cheaters by the end of the week
I have every resource I could possibly need, except for Screws and Aluminium... I'm all ways struggling for both.
Bethesda can't even be trusted to make a worthwhile singleplayer Fallout game. I don't want to imagine them trying to do both at once.
Honestly I think they should have just stolen ideas from Fallen Earth in regards to making a Fallout style-mmo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JF2-cP8v_ms
Through not having npc's they seemed to have actually done a way better job of explaining the background a lot more, you also come across houses and shacks that don't even have a note but still have a small story to them. Why are caps used? It started with a tacky promotion with nuka cola and the whitespring hotel, when the bombs dropped they were used for rationing in the whitespring hotel, where normal money would be found in piles. All the robots everywhere? People hated it, everyone was made redundant and no one could get jobs, there were mass protests and a vote was just about to happen on the automation going on in west virginia. Why is everyone dead? FEV-Nuclear radiation powered brain fungus (like the Ophiocordyceps unilateralis) thats creating the scorched, people either fled the area altogether or eventually got killed/succumbed to the virus. You come across an airport that's pretty much been converted into a quarantine camp. they were literally shifting dead bodies with pickup trucks. And also them expanding a lot more on what radiation does to people outside of ghouls, you got the grafton monster, wendigos, mole people etc. Even FEV got creative though centaurs ain't back. Obviously bethesda makes these really cool enemies and their main big bad is a reskinned skyrim dragon called the "scorchbeast"
I would argue that the Snallygasters are Centaurs due to their resemblance to the cut Fallout 4 Centaur, just with less heads and slightly less limbs.
Someone said the same thing last week
Yeah I fought one for the first time yesterday and I immediately thought "Hey this is just a centaur with a regionally inspired name!". Not that it's a bad thing.
Bethesda's end boss has always been humanoid enemies with the exception of Skyrim. Dagoth Ur mankar camoran Umaril the Unfeathered Jyggalag The Enclave FO3 Legate Lanius / ulysses Whoever you end up fighting in FO4 And even in Skyrim you have Mirrak That's who they are better at designing. 76 has no NPCs, so the only option is a creature. Maybe the only other alternative would be something like the original infection carrier, an Omega scorched
The reviews are great. 2.4 on Xbox One, 2.7 on PS4, 2.9 on PC. Only one positive Critic review that amounts to "I'll play it once, and never again" https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/241170/d2734fd9-5776-4d7b-94f1-54e9ac568a0a/Fallout 76-angrytodd.png
your point? These Todd memes are getting to the point of just being stupidly annoying.
main point was that they chose their least creative creature (with a name to match) as their main spotlight, even the aliens in 76 got a fun redesign and all the cryptids are just generally great additions. But I dunno why the reviews are so terrible with 76, it's not the GOTYAYs but I'm genuinely having fun with it. Maybe its because I haven't played games like it before?
The Reviews Are Funny
Idk if late but: Mole miner: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/109874/9a5a0f35-577a-4449-9d3c-61d5f99f3584/image.png Burer (STALKER): https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/109874/77bdf88a-7aea-41b5-a16d-82a07eb677de/image.png I know stalker didn't invent dwarf looking creeps I just thought the comparison was hilarious. I really hope someone eventually makes a reskin mod for F76.
Patch notes are up: https://beth.games/2DzyowW Seems a bit underwhelming if I'm being honest.
I'm totally down with performance update. Game's performance for me is very bad. Also, why this particular plan is so pricey? http://puu.sh/C4mJ9/216efc0a10.PNG The most expensive item I've seen in this game so far.
It' hasn't even been a week.
New update is out https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1977/5211354c-620d-4434-a67f-dc67ba7c26ed/image.png rip best bug.
I'm honestly enjoying 76 far more than 4 but I can't put my finger on why.
Because you're not looking for your son with an overly convoluted terrible plot where most of the sides are wrong
Er, what? Half the game is your character trying to figure out what happened to them.
you are anyone while doing that same with the "story" in fallout 76, trying to figure out what happened to the overseer etc etc
Its more like trying to find out where the guy went and why he did it, I mean, Victor and everyone in good springs will tell you what happened. Beyond that your character is completely up to you, at least thats how I remember how it happened.
Yeah, I think you're right, not being forced/nudged along by some bottom of the barrel story and enjoying the game at my own pace is a lot nicer.
How does this hotfix require a 15 GB update though
because Bethesda doesn't know how to patch files inside archives.
jesus fucking christ they shouldn't bother with hotfixes, then. RIP people with a data cap
Its from the same company that made a launcher that accidentally deleted your game if you tried to play too early.
I mean, at least we only had to download half the game this time instead of the full one... Seriously though Bethesda come on.
I think the biggest issue with the whole "SEE? KELLOGG WAS HUMAN TOO!?, BET YOU REGRET YOUR DECISION TO SHOOT HIM!" nonsense isn't even that I feel kellogg was particularly irredeemable. It's that I literally didn't have a choice but to kill him. The game forces you to kill a character, then uses a flashy pseudo-dream sequence to effectively say "wow that guy had a family once too, how could you?" and try and make you feel bad for killing a aforementioned character.
