What are your specs?
I've been boop'd by a fucking level 102 with a railgun and it did jackshit to me, and I was level 33. Think you just got fucked by the system, did you have your gun out or holstered because I had mine holstered. Also the guy looked very confused when he shot me and it did basically nothing to my health bar then proceeded to dump an entire charge into me. In the end he gave up and let me walk out of his camp, all I was doing was using his weapons bench to repair my shit.
I was level 19, i think i had it holstered
How I feel seeing Fallout 76 on sale for such low, low prices: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n39897a9hNk
I feel like Fallout 76 did even worse due to the fact it wasn't being sold on steam in any form. Even Ubisoft sells the keys on steam just to launch it through their own client.
I bought the Tricentennial Edition for the full £70 ($90). My only regret is 76 isn't on Steam so I'll never see how many hours of my life I've wasted on this supposed turdfest which has already stolen the better part of a week from me already.
I I joined a game and found this, lmao https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/108621/e7fe9980-0620-4ea2-90ba-4d5f8679212b/ScreenShot111.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/108621/46153932-a696-4a17-9b76-5cbf4b73ca21/ScreenShot109.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/108621/e011c819-4255-44ea-94ee-645520b20a6b/ScreenShot108.png
My 1060 6GB handles this game fine apart from the occasional stutter from running out of vram.
Captured a workbench the other day and then had some guy come over and actually help defend the camp against a mirelurk invasion. Pretty nice of him I thought, and I really only came here to get the items from capturing the bench and fending off the first attack on it, I planned to walk away after and let him have the bench. At the end of the mirelurks he decided to shoot me anyway, with the game letting me know that he was now hostile but because of pacifist mode I still couldn't hurt him back? And he whipped out a sniper rifle point blank and unloaded enough to kill me before I could react. Respawned nearby, walked over to him about to rifle through my bag (I'd just deposited all my junk and had like a desk fan on me). He had a bounty on him because of the murder. I turned off pacifist mode, placed a shotgun to his temple and unloaded. Game definitely has a few flaws in it but I'm still having fun regardless.
Yeah don't go and help random players defend their settlements. I used to do it all the time, but would consistently tag them/their structures and incur a bounty. Even when it's not bugging out the system is complete wank. With a bounty, you cannot see other players on the map, other players can always see you, and the only way to lose the bounty aside from waiting an at-this-moment-indiscernible amount of time, is to die to another player. Not just die in general, but specifically to another player. Those being the only two methods of losing a bounty is very frustrating when you accidentally incur a bounty, because you're not likely to let the first player that comes to gank you kill you. You're most likely carrying junk you want to deposit. So you fast travel back to camp, shove it all in the chest, and then need to find a random player to which you can explain your situation to and allow them to kill you. They should just let you pay your own bounty. Or something, I don't know. This game isn't PvP focused enough for this kind of system, it just ends up annoying. What's the ultimate pay off from a bounty anyway? You kill the one with the bounty, they respawn on top of you and kill you right back, the process repeats because someone gets a bounty in there somewhere... Wasted potential, imo.
Todd's disappointment in his product, and you, is immeasurable, and his next 3 years are ruined https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/112970/f5ba0c47-7741-4776-9f2b-494f9c429377/image.png oc crying todd
Did it though? Did it really work out in the end? Somewhere Todd is crying because his favourite meme boy can't play.

i need those muskets backported.
I love the idea of arming the Minutemen exclusively w/ them
This is legit my favorite weapon so far. It's super powerful, lets you one hit kill most of enemies on your level and easily clean up entire locations if you make good use of the sneak critical hits, plus, despite being super long (duh), the reload animation never gets old.
It helps a lot if you have Speed Demon mutation. It speeds 20% reload time.
Not gonna lie, I always avoid raload speed bonuses in games because it always just accelerates the default reload animations instead of showing different ones and it just looks silly. I know, it's dumb. Also I choose armors for their visual style rather than their stats. Though F76 lets you wear clothes over armor so it's fine.
Boy are you in for a treat when you discover its unique variant... What i'll tell you is that I found it at a workshop farm in the Mire, a reward for killing three legendary Swamp Crawlers.
The Dragon is the best thing tbh, sneak attacking scorchbeasts with it and then finishing it off with Gauss rifle is my go-to tactic now. Also novelty of owning a quad-barrel musket too.
So, that bug still works https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1977/5d7761d6-e14e-4c72-b0e6-218afbe76dd0/image.png UNLIMITED POWER.
I can't wait until it's patched so I have to waddle my 2k lbs of junk a mile to a place I can slap down my camp like I shit my pants
I have honestly thought about refunding because the crashing is ridiculous, but when I actually do get to play, I thoroughly enjoy partnering up with my friend. I think it would be too late to refund regardless, since I'm pretty sure I have more than 24 hours of gameplay by now. Still. getting crashes left and right without being able to know the real cause is definitely not a great experience. Sometimes event viewer says the cause is d3d11.dll or something, and sometimes it just attributes it to the Fallout76.exe, more recently it even mentioned ucrtbase.dll. Whatever the real cause is, the game crashes pretty much the same way and randomly. I don't really know what else to try, sometimes I wonder if Microsoft is to blame, because I do remember GTA Online would get terrible microstuttering from a few windows updates, but that's just guessing. Resetting to an earlier version didn't seem to change anything. But I will say that Bethesda has actually improved stability in a few areas of the game in my case. I noticed before the update this week, I used to get awful performance around Flatwoods, and Charleston when my textures were set on high. For Flatwoods, I'd get horrible stutters if I tried turning towards the bridge, and Charleston was pretty much the same, and pretty much unplayable if I even shifted my view a little while looking in the direction of the Hornwright industrial building. That's one thing to be happy about, I just wish I could play an hour without risking crashing at least 2 or 3 times.
Group dropped out first nuke on whitesprings. Entire server turned up to farm it and in the ensuing chaos of many scorch beasts and straight up hundreds of ghouls the whitesprings robots feel and eventually so did bethesdas server. Crashing the server with a single nuke, 10/10 https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/134138/87ce6d92-004b-4a4c-aab0-269d6dd3c1fd/Photo_2018-11-23-190546.png
Was there supposed to be a Character wipe when the game went from BETA to Full Release? I bought it last night and was so happy that I spawned into my camp that I said goodbye to at the end of the BETA.
Nope, they all carried over. although tbh it may have been for the worse since now the player base is shotgunned around the whole map instead of together
Black Powder weapons are too much fun.
I was getting 1-hit by Ghouls at near full health today. https://youtu.be/sGAZuo4QFS0 Sorry for the weird resolution, I guess OBS decided 2560x1440 should be that.
i hate fallout 76's hud. i wish they made more of an effort to thematically tie it to the pip boy so tacky shit like health bars and nameplates can be mentally dismissed as pipboy features and not video game concessions.
