As soon as drag-I mean Scorebeast lands. It'll die within 2 or 3 seconds.
Whats a good place to farm screws in 76, I seriously never have enough to upgrade my guns
There's a shopping mall somewhere on the east side of the map in the swamp, every store has several desk fans and some have type writers and hotplates, all of which are good screw sources. And there's a toyshop which you can grab some toy cars from too.
I've started just tagging the resources I need and wandering low level dungeons in The Forest. So many common things give you screws, and the weaker enemies shouldn't be too much of a drain on your resources.
Being a good guy feels nice. My camp is right next to the Rockhound excavator, and one day two level 26 dudes occupied a workshop there. Long story short I see an event starting to defend that workshop, only this time it was a scorchbeast. I thought "Eh, might as well" and went there. Now imagine this: you and your mate are fighting a gigantic fuck off bat, slowly plinking away it's health when you see a random asshole in a Nuka-Cola power armor stomp his way to you and shoot it with a gauss rifle till it died, he then turns around to give you a thumbs up, jumps off the digger and fucks off into the distance. When i looked at them after killing that thing they just stared at me like this

I can't tell if the Number is glitched, or if this person is actually level 150-something

Probably an unencrypted .ini file where you can write
"bEnableServerEnforcedPlayerLevel=0
bPlayerStartingLevel=100"
I'm glad I bought Fallout 76, I really am. I enjoy it, I'm having fun with it, and it was worth the money to me. But holy shit these emails I'm getting offering the game for almost 50% off really fucking sting.
I expected small sales because of Black Friday, but the rampant shit flinging before release and all the clickbait garbage people were throwing onto youtube about the game killing their dog and burning their house down really fucked the sales and now places are trying to get rid of all their excess stock. If I knew I could have waited a fucking week and I could have gotten the game half off, I would have.
Yeah, I know I'll get my money worth out of it even at $60, but I definitely feel something because of the negative reception probably bringing down price. And to be perfectly fair, for the game 76 is, it probably shouldn't have been priced at $60 to begin with.
Either way, I don't make a habit out of throwing $60 on video games often, it's basically like a thing I only do once every 2 years, since I barely buy AAA titles, so it's not a huge loss that it's on a developer that makes games I tend to always enjoy.
I'm glad the price is going down tbh. If the game had been a lot cheaper at launch, I don't think it would have caused such a huge shit show.
I've seen the ~it's just a little spin off project!!!~ defence brought out to excuse the fairly glaring lack of quality and content in fallout 76, but it's not priced as a little spin off project, it's priced as a full AAA release. IMO even 50% off is still a little steep for me right now, for what it is, but if Fallout 76 goes even cheaper at some point in the future I might give it a go to see if it's any better on PC.
I'm not going to say it isn't a fun game, because even Fallout 4, even if I didn't really enjoy it as a story based Fallout game, the gunplay was fun, exploring was interesting enough to grab my attention and it was worth playing and I got a lot of time out of it (and still do thanks to modding) but I played the beta for Fallout 76 and thought "Oh like, this is ok I guess, but it's just more Fallout 4's semi-decent gunplay and exploring, but sold at a full price tag" and like, I can get "fun" elsewhere, from plenty of other games that do this sort of thing much better and Bethesda hasn't really done anything to like, differentiate Fallout 76 from competitors in the genre, only reason I'm interested really in 76 is because of the Fallout name.
I feel like the negative reception 76 has garnered is sort of deserved in most respects, it was released in quite a dreadfully buggy state and it is still is, more so than any Bethesda game before now, isn't really all that content rich comparatively to the other games (like from what i played of the beta, it really did just feel like Radiant quests, the game, Kill Shoot Loot Return etc etc)and it really felt as though it needed another year or a couple of months in the oven to bake.
Now don't get me wrong, I fully intend to pick the game up eventually, once it has content relative to the price, is patched and has private servers and modding, but until then, I really don't see any point in investing in the game, even with a substantial discount, it's just sort of "Well, I played 10 hours of the Beta and got my fill of the game"
But right now it's not a great game, just a mediocre one.
I'm hoping for the same thing as well. I believe Fallout 76 can be so much better if Bethesda got their butts in gear and put a real effort into polishing it and adding more content. And the same goes for future releases.
Hopefully this "curse" can be a blessing in disguise, for them and for we the fans.
They're already showing promise since they fixed the big FPS bug their engine has had for a while now with physics breaking above 60, and with datamined info about Vaults opening up to be raids, I have hope there will be some interesting stuff on the way.
Here's something I didn't notice, but it might be because it's a bug.
When you assemble the Excavator, the legs get both left and right parts made when you assemble only one of them.
Also is anyone else just finding power armors that are missing their left arms? Like holy shit, I have so many incomplete power armors just due to the fucking left arm being MIA
That definitely didn't occur for me.
So I haven't played it, and maybe that's part of it, but does anyone else feel the reaction to 76 is seriously hyperbolic?
Like yeah it looks like it's got problems, lots of them, but people are acting like the game is outright offensive. The vitriol I've seen from even typically reasonable people is just palpable. Is there something I'm missing?
It looks to me like a 6/10 game that's being treated like it's a 0/10 game that also kills your family pets.
As someone who really likes FO76 right now it's a niche that hasn't quite found its footing yet. Does it want to be a PVP game? Does it want to be a PVE game? What about settlement building? The game has elements of all three but implementation wise, it's barely ankle deep. Just barely scratching the surface really.
It's too early to call FO76 a loss, but it all comes down to how Bethesda chooses to plan content drops and additions in the long term.
I don't get people's opinion that it's little or not deserving of full price. If you removed multiplayer, i.e. removed the most important feature added to the game, it would still be a huge new Fallout game with a completely new world full of places to explore and quests to do. Having no NPCs would still be a big blow to what a Fallout game should be, but as a Bethesda game, it hits all the notes they're traditionally best at. (Also, if they did remove the multiplayer, it would take care of most of the new bugs, too. :P)
