So with the Sho't, Israel's domestically modified tanks are now spread across three tech trees. Great.
All of Israel's tanks cost real shekels to buy. Really makes you think.
it makes more sense than putting them all on the US tree imo, especially if we end up getting some flavour of Tiran what doesn't make sense tho is the Ram II being on the US tree :^)
Activates my almonds & hummus. If the thing is any higher than 8.0 or 8.3 its going to be a disaster. The Leopards are cancerous because they are fast; we all know the Centurions, even this one with an engine upgrade, aren't THAT fast. The regular Cent Mk.10 is 7.0 because it doesn't have HEAT and the fact its sorta slow may play into that as well. Now we've got A1A1 tier APFSDS and HEAT along with ERA, so I'm fearing 8.7. High-tier black hole won't be kind to big boxes with no composites, especially because the T-54/55 and T-62 it should be fighting in reality are lower tier than this. I still want to buy it though...

research a whole new tank just to get some ERA on the LFP, some slightly better skirts and armoured ammo bins? haha, good joke
Better composite armor tho
dunno where you got that idea from, but no: The overall performance of the new Challenger Mk.3 doesn’t change compared to the existing Mk.2 already available in War Thunder. The vehicle still uses the same engine, suspension, gun, ammunition and armour layout. However, what does separate the Mk.3 from the Mk.2 is the addition of add-on ERA and composite armour elements to the front and sides of the vehicle’s hull. it's literally just composite/era skirts and era on the lfp, everything that actually matters stays the same; this could have easily been a modification for the mk 2 and we could instead have been given a proper new vehicle at the top tier, like the vickers mbt 7/2 or smth
Meanwhile the T-64BV ERA package is a module upgrade :thonk:
decals are honestly the best part of this game https://i.imgur.com/b0bA557.png
Ever since they implemented inverted mirror as an option for decals, it's basically been a requirement to give every vehicle (especially boats) angry or dopey faces.
It's to give nations multiple tanks at the same bracket for back-ups because they flung themselves into a trap with power creep for Era 6. That's why there's one MILLION Chieftains (it's almost indicative of the gradual power creep funny enough.) M1 and IPM1, T-64BV and T-80 (once they realized the T-64A/BV struggle versus hypermobile MBTs), Leo 2K and 2A4 almost play into this. Japan can rot guess. Until helicopters are implemented better though, I don't even feel like playing Era 6. Non-ATGM ones are a fuckin' joke and outright hurt their team by even spawning, the HEAT rockets rarely get a kill and even approaching the battlefield with the current paper-mache 20-licks-2-die damage model is suicide . ATGM ones break the game by being floating death platforms that operate outside their real-world ranges to delete tanks that have no effective way of fighting back (unless they have an ATGM too? fun amirite). I need those Italian tanks already so I can climb another tech tree.
They need to re-lower plane costs a bit and up heli-costs a lot for them to be balanced, for a start. And implement max-ranges on ATGMs.
There are max ranges on atgm's, though for some reason gaijin hasn't labelled them on any of the stat cards. For instance the SA.313B Alouette II with SS.11 guided missiles only has a max range of 2400m after which they just explode mid air.
They're effectively non-existant on some, for sure. The BO-225's TOW can snipe from one heli-spawn to the other without problems.
I honestly wouldn't know if they are non existent on some cause of the lack of info on the stat cards, but with the SS.11 missiles I had to look them up on wikipedia to figure out why they were exploding in the air after a seemingly short distance. It's entirely possible they are implemented but without knowledge of exact distances you can't really judge them based off of a feeling that they were engaging from ranges they shouldn't be.
The SS.11s might be the only ones with them and I've heard claims the rocket still exists/keeps flying despite the explosion. The TOWs seemingly have none because I've gotten kills over 6km out with them where the tanks are blurry pixels.
Big think indeed, I didn't realize how half assed most of these atgms would be.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG0NLZOCvHE I wish I could've heard this guy's microphone just then.
The TOW range stuff is already logged as a known issue, its ONLY the Tow that has the extreme range iirc and also only the one that the choppers get, not the ground forces ones.

Yet another vehicle I really want to play, but probably never will
oh lawd he hullbreakin'
Marder Series When
Gaijin will probably wait until they've got IFVs for France/Japan first. I mean, we've already got the TAM and Begleitpanzer, and that hull with some MILAN / HOT-2s isn't a whole lot different than the shitty KaJgPz hull the Raketenpanzer uses.
